Great location, cosy cottage

  • 5 of 5

My family & I had a great stay at Holly House over the Christmas holidays. The location was perfect for us; in ten minutes you can easily walk to the center of town. Nights in the lounge with the fireplace lit were perfect after cold days out & about! The bedrooms were all a good size & the beds were unbelievably comfortable. (Everyone said the same!) The kitchen was very well stocked with some basics (Salt, Pepper, Olive Oil, etc. & cooking utensils were pretty good. Instructions were provided for all of the major appliances, bins collections, etc. All very easy to follow. Holly was available via email for the few small questions that we had. In a past review I read, a previous guest mentioned the lack of board games for nights around the fire. The host obviously took that on board as there were quite a few to choose from. Overall, we had a wonderful stay and would happily return at some point in the future. Stratford is a beautiful town & I'd like to see it in the summer some time.

Relaxing, and comfortable stay

  • 4 of 5

My husband and I stayed with our daughter from USA for a relaxing few days. The cottage is beautiful, well equipped and cosy. Any problems were quickly resolved by the owner Mike, and we appreciated the welcoming touches of some essentials provided in the kitchn and new soap and washing up supplies. The beds are comfortable and the cottage is pleasantly decorated. The towels and bed linen are fresh and clean and their provision mean there is less to travel with in the car. The gas fire in the sitting room is cosy and welcoming. Our only suggestions - an instruction manual for the oven and a rewrite of the welcome pack would help reduce the need for phone calls to the owner! Also allowing for credit card payment rather than just bacs payments would open up rental to a greater clientele especially the overseas contingent! A very pleasant few days overall - within easy walking distance of the old town and the river and easy driving distance for many local attractions.

Fabulous find!

  • 5 of 5

Myself and my three daughters stayed at Holly House for a week and had a great time - the house is very comfortable, inviting, secluded, and easy to find, and Michael's welcome package (wine, bread, etc) waiting for us was a very nice touch! A very relaxing stay, and well located for access to Stratford as well as access to river trails for those daily runs. Our only recommendation is to add some board games and a DVD player at some point, as we're sure future guests will enjoy the usage. We had a great time, and will be back the next time our travels bring us in this direction!!

Deal with Michael who was a pleasure and made everything so simple, he even provided us with a lovely bottle of red wine along with biscuits, bread, milk and jam which was a nice touch.

the house is immaculate, Wi-Fi is a great addition and the furniture is to a high standard, I would recommended this property to anyone wishing to stay in this area.
