About Peter Hocking

My wife and I live in England and bought our Floridian property in 2003.

We have some great knowledge of the Florida gulf coast area, particularly around Sarasota and Bradenton.

If there are any particular ideas you are looking at for things to do we are very pleased to help.

We appreciate that it can be a nervous time booking a holiday home directly with the owners but if you do wish to go ahead, we are able to supply a variety of information which will give you every confidence that both we and our beautiful Holiday Home really do exist!

Having just returned from Florida I hasten to write to say how much we enjoyed staying in your villa. It is well appointed and very comfortable.

Very adjacent to St. Petersburg and Sarasota with their many attractions. The islands and beaches also add to the local delights. No problem finding the property your directions are spot on. Thank you also for the welcoming bottle of wine and note. In sum we are appreciative of your kindness and already missing the sunshine of Florida.

Thanks for a lovely holiday - it was just what we needed. The villa was perfect for the 3 of us.

We used Riverside Cafe a lot for meals. It's on 41-BUS N just over the bridge then first left.

We went to Bradenton Beach right down the end of Manatee Avenue. We found it had a lovely beach and the food was very nice.

Mixon Fruit farm - nice shop but did not do the Tram Tour.

St Armands Circle - very nice. Firkin and fox - good food and guinness.

We have just enjoyed our third stay in your lovele villa. The weather has been hot, pool refreshing and we've had everything we could need here. Its a very well appointed villa.

We stayed 6 nights in Orlando before coming here and must say that this villa was definitely the better of the two. Its so much more relaxing here in Bradenton.

We enjoyed lovely meals at Applebees, Codys Roadhouse and again had the best burgers at Five guys. We enjoyed take-out pizza and wings from Casa-di-pizza (small place in the corner near Applebees). Delicious!

Love the shopping at Ellenton but Univeristy Parkway (I75 Junction 213) has some good shops too. Yet again the beach at the top of Anna Maria Island takes some beating, especially near the Sand Bar Restaurant. It's quite a drive to get there but well worth it.

We had a great couple of days at Busch Gardens - if you pay for 1 day you get a 2nd day free. This is the best theme park in our opinion, with the best rides. We felt Islands Of Adventure (for Harry Potter) in Orlando was not good value for money - in fact it was a rip-off.

Walmart is good for day-to-day shopping but Publix is better quality.

Hope everyone enjoys their time here as much as we do.

Hopefully we'll manage to come back again next year/

A cosy home from home in the Florida sun

  • 5 of 5

We have really enjoyed our stay in your lovely villa – it’s a real home from home!

And so quiet and peaceful.

We have had some lovely days out, really enjoyed the Ringling and Marie Selby gardens.

Nowhere is very far away.

Thank you for sharing with us!

Best wishes

Great location and villa

  • 5 of 5

We have just returned from a fabulous 2 week stay, the villa was very easy to find with Peter's directions. We came in from Orlando airport so hit the I4 first then the I75.

The villa is very clean & tidy with plenty of space and comfy bedrooms! We had everything we could possibly need to hand, from towels to a hairdryer to beach chairs and sunshades. The pool is a very welcome relief from the humidity which can get quite bad, but hey it is Florida.

You can not beat starting you day sat round the pool with a coffee watching the sunrise and listening to the birds sing! The fan above the outside table is a must!!

The villa is in a perfect location close to supermarkets and some good restaurants, a few better ones a 10/15 min drive away ( Longhorns & Texas steak houses )

A must is Anna Maria island , siesta key and sanibel island... Just stunning!! and South Florida museum, a very interesting day out and you get to meet snooty the oldest manatee in the world!!

We would recommend this villa to anyone who wants to do Florida but not the parks. We loved our stay here and would defiantly return

Superb Villa

  • 5 of 5

We have just spent a most enjoyable and relaxing 3 weeks in Tropical Lake villa in Braden Lakes in Bradenton. This airy villa has been very well maintained and is in a quiet location with a lovely view over the lake. The solar heated was great and sitting in the Floridian sun watching the bananas grow just outside the lanai whilst egrets fly in did make us wonder ‘does life get much better than this’. All dealings with Peter and Rosalind were prompt and professional and we thank them for this. We would thoroughly recommend this superb villa to both couples and families
