One of only two lodges in the grounds of Swarland Old Hall, a Grade II* listed building. Both lodges are awarded the 4-star Gold status by Visit Britain. The lodges are of a very high standard with quality bed linen and towels supplied. One downstairs king size bedroom with ensuite bathroom and walk-in shower. Two further bedrooms (one double, one twin) and two further bathrooms, one of which has bath and shower. Double doors open out to decking with barbecue, seating and large grassed area with playground beyond. Welcomes packs provided on arrival including a homemade cake and bread.

About the Owner

Dianne started in 2001 by offering Bed & Breakfast in the Old Hall, achieving the 5-Star Gold accreditation with Visit Britain. Based on the success of this, in 2007 she built the two luxury lodges in the main grounds, which have been awarded 4-Star Gold status with Visit Britain.

Dianne and her family still run the farm adjacent to the Old Hall.

Location

From the Owner

The farm and Old Hall have been in the Proctor family since 1942. The location is in an area of outstanding natural beauty, set in the heart of the Northumberland countryside. It is ideally situated, with the coast, local castles and the Cheviots being only a 20 min drive away. There are several local villages nearby with excellent pubs, cafes and amenities. Newcastle-upon-Tyne, together with the Quayside and excellent shopping is only a 30 minute drive away. Finally, a day trip to Edinburgh is also possible either via a one hour train journey or two hour drive.

Coast/Beach:

20 mins drive to Alnmouth, an exceptional sandy beach in an unspoilt Northumberland village

Travel:

30 miles (30 mins drive) to Newcastle International Airport.

90 miles (2 hours drive) to Edinburgh Airport

Distances:

Longframlington - 2 miles

Felton - 2 miles

Alnwick - 7 miles

Morpeth - 8 miles

Further Details:

Alnwick and Morpeth are both excellent historic market towns with many attractions and amenities.

Alnwick has the famous castle (used in the filming of Harry Potter) as well as the Alnwick Gardens, Barter Books (the world's largest secondhand book store), a leisure centre and many other attractions.

Morpeth has an excellent, unique shopping experience as well as the beautiful Carlisle Park and river walks.

Felton is the nearest village, with it's own artisan bakery and coffee shop and the recently refurbished Northumberland Arms pub and restaurant.

Newcastle-upon-Tyne is only 30 mins drive away and is an excellent day out with attractions such as the Quayside, the Millenium Bridge, Sage Music Centre, Baltic Contemporary Art Gallery, Eldon Square shopping centre and many more places to see.
