The apartment is a short 5 minute drive from the ancient Moorish mountaintop whitewashed village of Comares, the highest village in Andalusia. 3-4 minute drive from two bar/ restaurants in the hamlet Los Ventorros. Situated on open, hilly countryside with stunning, breathtaking views. Easy access from the apartment to the bars, restaurants, local shops and bank. No horrendous dirt track roads to navigate. Comares is a beautiful village with bar/restaurants, a bank and pharmacy, supermarket etc. A walker's paradise. Fantastic new Zip-wire across the mountains in Comares for the more adventurous. The coast and shopping malls a 40 minute drive. The beautiful vibrant city of Malaga is the nearest airport - approx a one hour drive. Sandy beaches are around a 40 minute drive at Torre del Mar on the Costa Del Sol with water sports, Chiringuitos ( beach bar/ restaurants ) and a huge selection of sunbeds. Other Local Activities: Bird Watching. So much to do or of course just chill and relax in the pretty apartment garden. Private off road parking. Car hire recommended although we will do airport pickup and drop . Ask us for a price.

We are retired and enjoy the Spanish way of living. We are proud to let our lovely apartment to you and meet new people and do all we can to make sure your holiday is what you hoped for and more. Although we live in the villa adjoining the apartment with our two small dogs. Poppy and Bailey, we are separated so your total privacy is guaranteed inside and out of the holiday apartment..

Why Jayne Haslett chose Axarquia (Costa del Sol)

We love living here.This is real spain living next door to spanish farmers and their animals. The views are spectacular. The locals are friendly. We live away from the hustle and bustle and commercialization of coast but can be there in 40 minutes We have easy access from a road which is a bonus no horrendous dirt tracks to rattle your bones. Although the pool is in front of our villa you have access via a gate to use whenever you want. We do not use the pool when you are using it. No one else stays here so you have total privacy. Because we live in the Spanish countryside you may occasionally see and hear chickens , goats, dogs, horses, mules, turkeys, birds, owls, eagles, vultures, insects etc. which all add to the ambiance of authentic country life. What you won't see or hear is hectic noisy traffic, bar brawls, drunken, shouting people. Embrace the peace.

What makes this apartment unique

The sun shine of 300 days a year is wonderful. Sunbathe in a lounger, swim in our pool, relax in the luxury Jacuzzi hot tub with massage jets. Read, relax. Eat in or out, visit our super local restaurants. Swim, sleep, rest. Drive to the coast, sunbathe on the beaches, swim in the sea, eat in the beach restaurants. Visit the many lovely white washed villages. Walk our mountain tracks. What more could you ask. So much to do or not do. The choice is yours.

A lovely hideaway

Great place scenery to die for loads of different outside space so you can be in the sun or shade hot tub great at night excellent hosts there if you needed them but otherwise you never saw or heard them

Amazing Whirlpool!

We had a wonderful relaxed week! The aparment has everything you need. It did get a little cold at night, but Jayne gave us a gas oven and if it gets too cold, just go and relax in the jacuzzi!

Get a small car - the roads surrounding the apartment are winding and narrow. It takes long to get anywhere but the views are incredible.

We would come back any time!

Relaxing and quiet holiday

Wonderful time in a beautiful remote location with amazing views.

Hospitable and friendly hosts made us feel at home straight away.

The welcome pack was a wonderful bonus. The studio had absolutely everything we needed to be able to cater for ourselves and to enjoy candle lit drinks outside in the evening.

Lovely restaurant and bar approximately 15 minute walk away.

We feel thoroughly rested and restored after our break. Thanks Jayne and Mike

Perfect little hideaway

Upon arrival we were met by a smiling Jayne who showed us around the property, everything from which light switch operated which light, to the buttons on the Jacuzzi Spa. Even a digi box with UK tv channels if you need them !

Jayne explained that the pool was available at any time as well but even they had found it a bit cool so had not used it recently.

We met Tony the next morning as he been unavailable upon our arrival, yet again we he was very welcoming and we had a good conversation, they both stressed that it was their intention to give guests total privacy, and that if they were required they would be available at all times.

The property is charming, great views has everything you need while staying there, it was very clean and hard a large outside space with sun beds, chairs, undercover bar seating area and the Spa.

Not only did we receive a great welcome but once we had settled in we realised that there was a welcome pack provided by Jayne and Tony, all the essentials like Milk, Orange Juice ,Margarine Bread, Beer ,Wine.

This was unexpected but very very welcome.

The Table Mountain restaurant in Los Ventorros about 3 mins drive was excellent, we ate there 4 nights.

This is the first time we have spent time in the mountains, and we would be more than happy to go and stay at Jayne and Tony's lovely picturesque casita again ?

Yeah the mountain roads are twisty with huge drops off the side of the road, but that's part of the fun, go on just do it go, and stay there, you will love it.

Jayne Tony thanks very much and keep enjoying your Spanish lifestyle, I quite envied it.

Amazing Mountain Hideaway

Just arrived home from our little holiday retreat and I already want to go back.

The apartment looks just like the photos with the exception that the main room is a lot larger than I expected. The outside space is generous with plenty of space for sunbathing and dining, my favourite spot was sitting in the shade in the chair by the french doors just taking in the views.

The apartment had everything we needed for our stay and I liked that Jayne and Tony had provided both bath and beach towels which was a real space saver when packing. Although the owners are just next door it didn't feel like it, you have your own space and it's extremely private. But it was nice to pick them for their local knowledge when needed.

Whilst here we visited the local restaurant Table Mountain Los Ventorros 3 times and found the food to be extremely good, I would recommend the prawn starter amazing. The staff speak very good English and are very attentive and most welcoming.

As for things to do I would recommend a trip to Gibraltar great shopping take your ££££ and passport and El Chorro lakes WOW is all I can say Google it. All decent drives but well worth it and the roads are unbelievably quiet. We also fancied Ronda but ran out of time so maybe next year.

Lastly you cannot beat jumping in the Jacuzzi at the end of the day glass of Cava in hand watching the lights from the little villages across the valley total bliss.

SEE REALLY RURAL SPAIN

IF YOU LIKE RURAL SPAIN THEN HERE YOU HAVE IT.!!

HALF AN HOURS DRIVE FROM THE COAST IF YOU WANT IT BUT WITH THE POOL, THE HOT TUB AND THE LOCAL BARS WHY WOULD YOU VENTURE FAR.

SPECTACTULAR VIEWS AND VERY GOOD HOSTS, WHO HAD THAT ABILITY TO BE THERE WHENEVER YOU NEEDED SOMETHING BUT BE INVISIBLE WHEN NOT NEEDED.

dESCRIPTIONOF PROPERTY IS VERY ACCURATE ... YOU GET EXATLY WHAT IT SAYS ON THE TIN. DONT EXPECT THE MALAGA COASTAL NIGHTLIFE. ENJOY RURAL SPAIN.

  • Notes on accommodation: The apartment is a really pretty and a spacious place to stay to enjoy all Spain has to offer. The locals are very friendly. The apartment is situated in beautiful Spanish countryside. You may see and hear, birds, insects, horses, mules, chickens, goats, dogs. A hire car is recommended although airport pick up can be arranged. Outside: Open roofed porch with lovey dining table and 4 chairs. Wicker lounge suite and coffee table. Very pretty private garden. Large terrace with sun loungers. Extra large shaded gazebo. Gated for privacy. Swimming pool is 8 m x 4m. The pool is set in front of the villa but only a few steps from the apartment. You will have sole use of the pool and the owners will only use it when you are not. Utility Room: Washing machine in kitchen. Iron and ironing board. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Towels and Linen provided including pool towels. Clean sheets are provide on stays more than one week. Maid service can be provided at an extra rate.
