Cottage in Hacheston, Nr. Framlingham, Suffolk, England - In The Heart Of The Deben Valley, Just 10 Minutes From Woodbridge And Framlingham
Glevering Mill is a traditional, picture book ancient water mill house,, built almost 1,000 years ago, the present building dating back to the late Tudor period and retaining many old features.
There is 1 property available for hire which can be hired to sleep 4 persons.
The Mill Cottage is the annexe adjoining the main house surrounded by the mill pond and stream running under the house.
The Cottage was completely renovated in 2013 and accommodates up to 4 people with a comfortable sitting room, well-equipped kitchen/dining room, two bedrooms, one double on the first floor and twin bedroom on the ground floor where the river runs under, overlooking the beautiful countryside, a bathroom with bath and shower and cloakroom.
Glevering Mill provides the ultimate self-catering holiday for Golf enthusiasts with its own private six green (18 hole 52 par) golf course, available for guests to use for no extra charge. Clubs are available but please bring your own balls.
The Golf Course is a favourite starter course for local people, as well as a practice course for Glevering Mill holiday guests who are playing at Ufford Park, Woodbridge, Aldeburgh or Cretingham Golf Courses.
This Property is ideal for the romantic, the country lover, the child in us all.
There are deer, otters, water voles, kingfishers and wily fish to be caught in the river.
The gardens have carpets of snowdrops, crocuses and daffodils in spring, in summer cottage garden flowers including sweet-smelling roses and ornamental trees, whilst fascinating mushrooms and brightly coloured toadstools pepper the woodland in autumn.
Cross the humpbacked bridge and absorb the view - this is a wonderful part of the Deben Valley (to be honest, the Deben is pretty spectacular throughout its journey to the sea), the river meanders through woodland and beside meadows, contracting and growing with the seasons, so that in winter the golf course occasionally disappears altogether to be replaced by a shallow shimmering water meadow.
Children: Whilst Glevering's Old Mill might not suit the worried parents of active toddlers (you are never far from the water although much of the garden is fenced), it is a child’s haven. With acres of woodland to roam in, fishing on the river and the private golf course on which to practice your swing, you will never be bored.
