About the property

Cottage in Trunch, North Norfolk, England - Peaceful Idyllic Location - 2 Miles Off The Coast Near Mundesley

Pumphouse Cottage is the annexe of The Manor House, Trunch. It has been renovated in 2008 to a high standard and offers a self-contained single storey accommodation. The cottage is only 2 miles off the North Norfolk coast near Mundesley. In addition to its double bedroom, the lounge offers a comfortable bed-sofa where another 2 guests might sleep. The cottage has been tastefully converted with partly vaulted ceiling and is furnished to a very high standard in both modern and traditional country style. It offers a wood burner in the lounge, wireless internet access, off-road parking and its own garden and terrace with garden furniture. The accommodation has high quality wooden floors throughout, except for the traditionally tiled bathroom and cooking area. It still holds its original sash windows, together with newly installed modern double-glazed windows and a French door to the patio. Guests have also access to their own washing/dryer machine and utility room. For those who like to sit outside and relax there is a west facing patio area with a table and chairs and a further secluded garden area. There is private off-road parking next to the cottage. We accept well behaved children as well as well behaved dogs by prior arrangement.

Why Susanne Mason chose Trunch

We love North Norfolk because of its beautiful landscape and nature, the seaside, the charming villages and market towns, the peaceful lifestyle. At the same time, Trunch is a very active, lively village, and most people are very friendly, helpful and laid back in our area.

Public transport is very good - trains and buses running at regular intervals to Norwich and London.

What makes this cottage unique

Pumphouse Cottage enjoys a very tranquil, peaceful setting on the edge of the village, with just open fields around. At the same time, the village shop and pub can be reached within a 5 minutes walk. And the nearest beach is just a 5 minutes drive away.

Our guests praise the cottage for its cosiness and comfort. They say it is far more spacious than it might seem online.

A hidden Gem in North East Norfolk

  • 5 of 5

This area is not the 'trendy' North Coast but it offers a great mix of beach walking (with obligatory dog) and fine countryside. Beautiful churches to explore in some very pleasant villages, none more so than Trunch itself. The cottage is a one bedroom modern extension to the 'manor house' with its own garden and patio. We loved it. Aided of course by the wonderful couple who own the main house. If you have not explored this part of Norfolk I recommend the location and the dog friendly cottage.

A lovely peaceful spot, especailly with a garden and privacy, our grandchildren loved it too

  • 4 of 5

Lovely peaceful cottage attached to the Manor House, comfortable and cosy warm and inviting, really lovely family time had around the dining table in the kitchen, sofa in lounge doubled as a spare bed for the children which they really enjoyed, some quality time spent with grandchildren out of the way of parents! We’ll take some more DVD’s next time! They both now want a pack of cards and a scrabble board! And they are savvy with their smart phones! This cottage just felt welcoming and comfortable, thank you to the owners for making us feel welcome, the biscuits went down a treat! Hope to be back as there is more in the area to discover.

We loved this cottage. For a family of three plus a dog, it was just perfect. The cottage is attached to the owners house, not that we were aware as it was so blissfully quiet. The owners are on hand if you need them, but otherwise you are left alone. Perfect location to tour the area. A local beach nearby with a great pub for lunch a also somewhere good for breakfast or coffee. Everywhere locally is dog friendly. We highly recommend.

Lovely - private, spacious and quiet retreat for 2

  • 4 of 5

Friendly, helpful owners next door. Lovely outlook over private garden & patio with afternoon sun. The electric shower let the place down - I have never had a shower with less power in spite of being incredibly noisy! That said, it was not enough to spoil an excellent week's holiday with plenty of cycling on quiet lanes. A perfect break.

So quiet and peaceful

  • 5 of 5

Great place to stay to explore the coast and countryside. So quiet and peaceful we found ourselves whispering! It was our rescue dog Flynn's first holiday which he really enjoyed in this lovely cottage and garden and lots of great walks nearby. The cottage was very comfortable and well equipped. Suzanne and John were welcoming, helpful and friendly.

One little tip for this area of Norfolk - we found most car park machines only take coins not cards as do some shops and takeaways as we were told the wifi connection for card transactions is a bit sketchy.... so needed lots of cash.

Well equipped cottage in a lovely Norfolk village

  • 5 of 5

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this well equipped cottage which has a lovely garden. It is well positioned to explore all of Norfolk and the village has good walks which Poppy our Chocolate Labrador enjoyed. The owners were friendly and helpful and we also got a warm welcome at the local pub which serves good food. No complaints about anything.
