Cosy North Norfolk Cottage (Sleeps 2+2) - Single Storey,Garden And Lovely Views

Overview

Property

Updated: 30-Nov-2016
Cottage in Trunch, North Norfolk, England - Peaceful Idyllic Location - 2 Miles Off The Coast Near Mundesley

Pumphouse Cottage is the annexe of The Manor House, Trunch. It has been renovated in 2008 to a high standard and offers a self-contained single storey accommodation. The cottage is only 2 miles off the North Norfolk coast near Mundesley. In addition to its double bedroom, the lounge offers a comfortable bed-sofa where another 2 guests might sleep. The cottage has been tastefully converted with partly vaulted ceiling and is furnished to a very high standard in both modern and traditional country style. It offers a wood burner in the lounge, wireless internet access, off-road parking and its own garden and terrace with garden furniture. The accommodation has high quality wooden floors throughout, except for the traditionally tiled bathroom and cooking area. It still holds its original sash windows, together with newly installed modern double-glazed windows and a French door to the patio. Guests have also access to their own washing/dryer machine and utility room. For those who like to sit outside and relax there is a west facing patio area with a table and chairs and a further secluded garden area. There is private off-road parking next to the cottage. We accept well behaved children as well as well behaved dogs by prior arrangement.

About the Owner

We enjoy very much running a B&B in our main house and letting Pumphouse Cottage, the former outbuilding of the house. It is great meeting people from all kind of directions and nationalities.

We have been living here for over 10 years and are very happy to give you as much advice as needed to make your holiday a good experience.

We are both multilingual - John speaks fluently German and also Italian, while Susanne, besides her German mother tongue, also speaks French and Spanish.

Cosy, secluded retreat.

  • 5 of 5

The owners are very friendly and welcoming, but despite the fact that the cottage is attached to their house they do not intrude at all and we felt a great sense of privacy. The garden is a delight and if you have a dog you will be pleased to know that the property is adjacent to fields and footpaths. The village is quiet and attractive with a small shop and a pub in easy walking distance down a "quiet lane". We were extremely comfortable in the cottage which is very well equipped. It is probably one of the nicest holiday cottages that we have stayed in, and we have stayed in a lot over the years. It is convenient for places like Cromer as well as Norwich, the nearest beach (2.5 Miles) is Mundesley which is great for dogs and it has a dog friendly pub with a garden that overlooks the beach.

Relaxing setting.

  • 4 of 5

Lovely place to be if you liked a relaxed, get away from it all holiday. Small village (one pub, one shop, one church sort of place). We stayed in the annex at the back of the main house. Large comfortable space with sole access to the back garden. Only two miles from the coast. Some lovely quiet lanes to cycle along.....although Norfolk is not as flat as my partner had me believe!! . Very relaxing holiday. Came back refreshed. P.S. If you intend to walk out after dark take a torch.

Very comfortable, clean, tidy and well kitted out.

  • 5 of 5

The property is attached to the Manor House and has lovely gardens at the front and rear. It is situated in village of Trunch, which has a very friendly local pub. Trunch is ideally situated to explore north Norfolk and is also close to local amenities. Unlike some some properties which sleep 2+2 this is spacious and well laid out. I would highly recommend staying at the Pumphouse.

Little Gem of a Cottage

  • 5 of 5

We've just returned home after a fantastic week staying at the Pump House Cottage in Trunch. We wished we'd booked for longer as there's so much to do.

Suzanne and John were a real pleasure to deal with throughout the booking process and were there to meet us on our arrival.

The cottage was beautiful, cozy, clean and well stocked so felt like a home from home. The cottage is attached to the Manor House but we were never really aware of other guests staying in the B&B or the owners. It feels lovely and private.

The cottage has access to the most beautiful garden. It would have been perfect had the garden been secure so that we could relax with the dogs in the garden but this didn't spoil our stay at all. For more obidient dogs this wouldn't have been an issue!

Suzanne and John recommended local places to visit. We visited Mundesley beach on our first day and returned every day! We've visted many places as a family in the UK but this has to be one of our favourite beaches. It's a perfect seaside town which hasn't been spoiled by endless amusement arcades!

We also visited the two local National Trust properties, Felbrigg and Blinkling. Both worth a visit especially Blinkling.

We would have loved to have done 1 or 2 of the walks around Trunch but our teenagers ruled the roost and insisted on the beach everyday!

I'm certain that we'll return to the Pump House Cottage. We've had the most wonderful week. Thank you!

Facilities

From the Owner

Pumphouse Cottage enjoys a very tranquil, peaceful setting on the edge of the village, with just open fields around. At the same time, the village shop and pub can be reached within a 5 minutes walk. And the nearest beach is just a 5 minutes drive away. Our guests praise the cottage for its cosiness and comfort. They say it is far more spacious than it might seem online.
