About the property

Cottage in Trunch, North Norfolk, England - Peaceful Idyllic Location - 2 Miles Off The Coast Near Mundesley

Pumphouse Cottage is the annexe of The Manor House, Trunch. It has been renovated in 2008 to a high standard and offers a self-contained single storey accommodation. The cottage is only 2 miles off the North Norfolk coast near Mundesley. In addition to its double bedroom, the lounge offers a comfortable bed-sofa where another 2 guests might sleep. The cottage has been tastefully converted with partly vaulted ceiling and is furnished to a very high standard in both modern and traditional country style. It offers a wood burner in the lounge, wireless internet access, off-road parking and its own garden and terrace with garden furniture. The accommodation has high quality wooden floors throughout, except for the traditionally tiled bathroom and cooking area. It still holds its original sash windows, together with newly installed modern double-glazed windows and a French door to the patio. Guests have also access to their own washing/dryer machine and utility room. For those who like to sit outside and relax there is a west facing patio area with a table and chairs and a further secluded garden area. There is private off-road parking next to the cottage. We accept well behaved children as well as well behaved dogs by prior arrangement.

About Susanne Mason

We enjoy very much running a B&B in our main house and letting Pumphouse Cottage, the former outbuilding of the house. It is great meeting people from all kind of directions and nationalities.

We have been living here for over 10 years and are very happy to give you as much advice as needed to make your holiday a good experience.

We are both multilingual - John speaks fluently German and also Italian, while Susanne, besides her German mother tongue, also speaks French and Spanish.

Why Susanne Mason chose North Norfolk & Coast

We love North Norfolk because of its beautiful landscape and nature, the seaside, the charming villages and market towns, the peaceful lifestyle. At the same time, Trunch is a very active, lively village, and most people are very friendly, helpful and laid back in our area.

Public transport is very good - trains and buses running at regular intervals to Norwich and London.

What makes this cottage unique

Pumphouse Cottage enjoys a very tranquil, peaceful setting on the edge of the village, with just open fields around. At the same time, the village shop and pub can be reached within a 5 minutes walk. And the nearest beach is just a 5 minutes drive away.

Our guests praise the cottage for its cosiness and comfort. They say it is far more spacious than it might seem online.

Peaceful location in friendly village

  • 4 of 5

The cottage was easy to find, thanks to good directions. We received a friendly welcome from our host who then left us to ourselves. The layout was perfect for us, with our son on the sofa bed, and the kitchen was well stocked with all we needed. There was a huge amount of information on things to do and, in particular, on dog friendly walks. Nearby Mundesley beach was wonderful. We bought fresh crab from the kiosk in the shoppers car park and lots of good buys from the local charity shop, supporting the volunteer lifeboat crew. The Crown in Trunch was very friendly and well used by the locals who made us feel very welcome. We would definitely recommend the cottage and hope to be back before too long!

An attractive and peaceful property to stay in

  • 4 of 5

An attractive and peaceful property to stay in, which is just what we needed. Only slight problems is that the electric shower box runs very loudly, which was a problem for one of us with a chronic illness where noise impacts. It would be good if that was fixed. Also, we couldn't find any implements like spatulas etc in the kitchen. So that would also be a useful addition for cooking.

But overall, really peaceful and we enjoyed our stay.

Owner's Response: Thank you very much for your kind review. We are sorry you couldn't find the kitchen utensils which are in a draw underneath the worktop. Pity you didn't ask us, we could have shown you where they are. And sorry about the electric shower. Unfortunately we can do nothing about this.

Peaceful location, close to the sea

  • 5 of 5

Had a wonderful 4 days at Pumphouse Cottage. Everything we needed was there and being dog-friendly with a lovely garden was a huge bonus.

The location was wonderful, so peaceful; but the village had a shop and pub - what else do you need? Just a short drive to Mundesley, which is a lovely seaside village. I would highly recommend this property
