About the property

Holiday Home House in Pentire Newquay, Cornwall, England - Newquay's best vantage point, with 2 beaches less than 500 metres away.

@97Pentire is a beautifully equipped modern home on Pentire Headland with extraordinary views out across Fistral and Crantock Bay.

A big south facing balcony is the perfect place to either start the day with a coffee - or end the evening with a sundowner. While you relax there is an enclosed garden, below, for children to play.

As the evening approaches, you might want to relocate to the garden and fire up the gas BBQ, catching the last rays of sun and enjoy some al fresco dining.

There is also a big family kitchen and in the summer you can cool off after a day in the sun watching the sun tip beneath the horizon, right into the sea, from the comfort of your sofa.

Feeling a little more active, the heather and flowers of Pentire Headland are on your doorstep, walk out towards the headland and climb over the rocks at low tide to make your way to Crantock Beach.

We welcome dogs @97Pentire and your dogs will love this wild headland and its beach.

From May to September you are moments from the little ferry at the Fern Pit Cafe, which will take you over to Crantock Beach. During the winter months, when the tidal river Gannel is out, access to the beach is via a wooden bridge; a great place to go crabbing.

From @97Pentire, an easy 10 minute walk brings you to Fistral Beach, perhaps stopping at Sea Spray Bistro, before heading down to feel the sand beneath your toes.

There is an amazing pub even closer than Sea Spray, the fabulous Lewinnick Lodge, always a great atmosphere and popular with locals and visitors alike. The Lodge has an outstanding restaurant with stunning views over Newquay Bay, Fistral Beach and beyond (almost as good as ours!) and is no more than 5 minutes from your front door.

Newquay, with its array of beaches, pools, cinema, sports facilities, riding and zoo is designed for the perfect family holiday. We will send you lots of details to help you get the most out of your time in Cornwall.

Being just off the A30, all of Cornwall is easily accessible including the Eden Project and the National Maritime Museum in Falmouth.

It's not just about families though, some of the world's top surfers enjoy the waves just beneath @97Pentire and surfing lessons are available on Fistral, Crantock, Towan and many other beaches.

Come and stay with us, and see the best that Newquay and wider Cornwall has to offer.

About Andy Pascoe

Hello, we're Claire and Andy, both Cornish, and have been in Newquay for the past 9 years, having lived in Cornwall all our adult life.

We moved here from the big city (Truro) for the outdoor life and haven't regretted a moment of it.

Newquay has been and still is a great place to bring up our family, enjoy time with friends and just be!

We're really missing the views @97Pentire, but we still live in town, so are close by for help and recommendations if you need them.

Andy Pascoe purchased this house in 2007

Why Andy Pascoe chose Newquay

As you'll see from the pictures, this beautiful house sits on the top of the Pentire Peninsula, commanding some of the most amazing all-round views of the rest of Newquay, Crantock and beyond. We fell in love with it immediately.

Waking up everyday to views which are constantly changing and making a cup of tea while watching the waves, is very special.

But just a short drive in to town, or a few minutes stroll to the beaches, its a brilliant location, just take a look at the map picture above.

What makes this house unique

@97Pentire is the last semi detached house in a row before the last few bungalows on this road. The sea and headland view across their roof-line is uninterrupted for us.

We benefit from being reverse accommodation, so that all of the living areas have incredible views. The kitchen has a very large picture window to the ocean to the North and also has patio doors to the balcony over-looking Crantock beach and the river Gannel to the South.

The lounge has a triple aspect with the same Northern and Southerly views but also has a westerly view through the Juliet Balcony, directly out to the headland, ocean, Crantock beach and the wonderful local (Lewinnick Lodge).

Guestbook comments from the owner

I would definitely recommend anyone to book and Andy is a great host, extremely attentive and we will definitely try to stay here again in our next visit to Cornwall.

Notes on accommodation: For the benefit of everyone, we are a NON SMOKING house. We can arrange for a chef, a butler, a maid to help your stay be more comfortable, just ask. How about a pasty making lesson with proper Cornish Farmhouse hospitality, delivered in the kitchen. Let us know your needs and we'll arrange it or simply put you in touch with the right people. The enclosed garden means that you can happily bring 1 or 2 small Pets, although there is an additional fee of £50 or £75 respectively. Both Crantock and Fistral are dog friendly all year round & Life-guarded throughout the summer months. A cot can be accommodated either in master bedroom, or bedroom two and a highchair is available on request. These are NOT permanently in the house, so please remember to ask for them. Free WIFI throughout and a 48" SMART HD TV in the lounge so you can watch your vines, go-pros and photos back, as a group from the sofa on a big screen. Outside: Large gravel parking to the front for 6 or more cars. Enclosed rear south facing garden with plenty of room to kick a ball, throw a Frisbee or perhaps have a water fight! As the evening approaches, relocate to the garden to relax and maybe fire up a BBQ in the sunken terrace catching the last rays of sun and enjoy some al fresco dining. Garden toys, including garden skittles and giant Jenga. Surf board storage and wetsuit hanging/drying area with fresh water tap to rinse off. Rear garden is fully enclosed for the safety of children or small dogs. Kick a ball or fly your kite right outside the front door in the evening, on the large open green opposite. It's very safe (no overhead cables). During the day, this area is the local pitch and putt (weather permitting), rent your clubs and ball from the ice-cream kiosk at the end of the road. Utility Room: Large room with plenty of shelves and hanging space for outdoor wear. Washing machine, tumble dryer, iron & ironing board. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Towels provided, but please bring your own beach towels, for your seaside adventures or some sunbathing. Your Beds will be made up for arrival to your specification. Kitchen linens provided. Mid stay clean included in bookings of 2 weeks. Home from home

Don’t expect a typical holiday let, this is a very comfortable house with lots of thoughtful touches and extras. Had loads of things planned, but with the unexpected nice weather we were happy just chilling at the property. Initially it seemed strange having the bedrooms downstairs, but when you see the views from upstairs you will realise why it was done this way. We were planning to go to another part of Cornwall next year. However, we were so impressed with the property we are considering returning next year.

Owner's Response: Wow Mark, thank you so much for your wonderful comments, we would of course be delighted to see you again next year. Newquay and the rest of Cornwall has so much to offer; so many coves to discover, so many attractions to visit, so many pubs and restaurants to eat in, so many villages to explore and of course so many waves to surf! Thanks again. See you all soon.

A really fantastic property. The owner has thought of everything and makes it a real home from home.

  • 5 of 5

Everything you could want to enjoy your stay in Newquay. Owner has thought of everything and has set the property out as i expect how he would like to holiday. There were fresh flowers and jam/scones/cream for cream tea on arrival! What an nice gesture. There is a toy box both inside and out to make sure you have something to occupy yourselves between enjoying the views from every room or the surf in Fistral beach. The private garden allows you to hose down the wetsuits (and the dogs) after the beach and a great place to dry out and enjoy the sunshine. Inside the property there is a lot of little touches that make all the difference from the boiling water tap (no need to wait for the kettle to boil to have a cuppa) to the artwork and the herbs on the window sill!

There is a folder with a lot of useful info answering pretty much every question about your stay from taxi numbers , best restaurants, takeaways, pubs and even the best go karting (which we did just 20 mins away! Be careful though there powerful karts over 300cc!!).

All six of us massively enjoyed our stay plus our 2

dogs. We couldn't have picked a better place to call home for the week.

Many thanks to Andy the owner.

Owner's Response: Thanks Greg for such a warm and heartfelt review. So satisfying to hear that the effort we put in is enjoyed so much, it's a pleasure. I'll have to ask St Eval Karting for a commission! Look forward to seeing you again next year. Cheers. Andy.

Fabulous - amazing views, prefect location, very comfortable.Love the cream tea touch.

  • 5 of 5

What a find! The house was bigger than we needed as there were only the 2 of us and our 2 dogs. However, this was our honeymoon and we wanted somewhere special. We liked the look of it from the pictures and it did not disappoint. Location was perfect for us - easy access to the Pentire Headland and Crantock Beach (via the steps at Fern Pit Café) and with Newquay in walking distance. To add to it all, the Lewinnick Lodge makes for an amazing local!

The house is beautifully presented and very well equipped. We particularly loved upstairs - the views are amazing. Lounge is very comfortable - it was great to curl up on the big corner sofa and watch the word go by. Kitchen is spacious and well furnished - loved the wall of boxes! The decking from the kitchen is a little suntrap and we enjoyed sitting out here with our morning coffee. The garden is fully enclosed so our dogs were safe in it and it is also a suntrap. We don't get the opportunity to sit and sunbathe very often so it was lovely to take an hour out one beautiful sunny afternoon and just do nothing but relax on the loungers.

Instructions and tips and hints were clear and helpful - we liked Andy and Clare's style and approach. Andy was also really helpful in the booking process and the lead up to our stay. The scones, jam and cream that were left for us were much appreciated - nice touch. Only sorry we missed him when we left.

We really enjoyed our stay here - hopefully we'll get the opportunity to return to Newquay in which case we'll definitely be back to 97 Pentire.

A brilliant house

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful time in the house. The weather was a bit variable but it didn't matter. We could watch the weather coming in from the ocean from the safety of the comfy settees. The children loved the upside down house. Every thing we could have wanted was

there including super beds. Lots of things to do in the area and the only problem we had( a light bulb!) was dealt with immediately..

We'd recommend the house to anyone especially a large family. Thank you Andy, we had a ball.
