3 Bedroom modern house with garden, parking & incredible beach & sea views

Bedrooms 3
Property type house
Minimum Stay 2 - 7 nights

About the property

Holiday Home House in Pentire Newquay, Cornwall, England - Newquay's best vantage point, with 2 beaches less than 500 metres away.

@97Pentire is a beautifully equipped modern home on Pentire Headland with extraordinary views out across Fistral and Crantock Bay.

A big south facing balcony is the perfect place to either start the day with a coffee - or start the evening with a sundowner. While you relax there is an enclosed garden, below, for children to play.

As the evening approaches, you might want to relocate to the garden and fire up a BBQ, catching the last rays of sun and enjoy some al fresco dining.

There is also a big family kitchen and in the summer you can cool off after a day in the sun watching the sun tip beneath the horizon, right into the sea, from the comfort of your sofa.

Feeling a little more active, the heather and flowers of Pentire Headland are on your doorstep, walk out towards the headland and climb over the rocks at low tide to make your way to Crantock Beach.

We welcome dogs @97Pentire and your dogs will love this wild headland and its beach.

From May to September you are moments from the row-boat ferry that takes you over to Crantock Beach. In the winter, when the tidal river Gannel is out, you access the beach over a wooden bridge; a great place to go crabbing.

From @97Pentire, an easy 10 minute walk brings you to Fistral Beach, perhaps stopping at Bodhi's Bistro, before heading down to feel the sand beneath your toes.

There is an amazing pub even closer than Bodhi's: the fabulous Lewinnick Lodge, always a great atmosphere and popular with locals and visitors alike. The Lodge has an outstanding restaurant with stunning views over Newquay Bay, Fistral Beach and beyond (almost as good as ours!) and is no more than 5 minutes from your front door.

Newquay, with its array of beaches, pools, cinema, sports facilities, riding and zoo is designed for the perfect family holiday. We will send you lots of details to help you get the most out of your time in Cornwall.

Being just off the A30, all of Cornwall is easily accessible including the Eden Project and the Natio al Maritime Museum in Falmouth.

It's not just about families though, some of the world's top surfers enjoy the waves just beneath @97Pentire and surfing lessons are available on Fistral beach. Come and stay with us, and see the best that Newquay and wider Cornwall has to offer.

About Andy Pascoe

Hello, we're Claire and Andy, both Cornish, and have been in Newquay for the past 9 years, having lived in Cornwall all our adult life.

We moved here from the big city (Truro) for the outdoor life and haven't regretted a moment of it.

Newquay has been and still is a great place to bring up our family, enjoy time with friends and just be!

We're really missing the views @97Pentire, but we still live in town, so are close by for help and recommendations if you need them.

Andy Pascoe purchased this house in 2007

Why Andy Pascoe chose Newquay & St Austell area

As you'll see from the pictures, this beautiful house sits on the top of the Pentire Peninsula, commanding some of the most amazing all-round views of the rest of Newquay, Crantock and beyond. We fell in love with it immediately.

Waking up everyday to views which are constantly changing and making a cup of tea while watching the waves, is very special.

But just a short drive in to town, or a few minutes stroll to the beaches, its a brilliant location, just take a look at the map picture above.

What makes this house unique

@97Pentire is the last semi detached house in a row before the last few bungalows on this road. The sea and headland view across their roof-line is uninterrupted for us.

We benefit from being reverse accommodation, so that all of the living areas have incredible views. The kitchen has a very large picture window to the ocean to the North and also has patio doors to the balcony over-looking Crantock beach and the river Gannel to the South.

The lounge has a triple aspect with the same Northern and Southerly views but also has a westerly view through the Juliet Balcony, directly out to the headland, ocean, Crantock beach and the wonderful local (Lewinnick Lodge).

Fabulous - amazing views, prefect location, very comfortable.Love the cream tea touch.

What a find! The house was bigger than we needed as there were only the 2 of us and our 2 dogs. However, this was our honeymoon and we wanted somewhere special. We liked the look of it from the pictures and it did not disappoint. Location was perfect for us - easy access to the Pentire Headland and Crantock Beach (via the steps at Fern Pit Café) and with Newquay in walking distance. To add to it all, the Lewinnick Lodge makes for an amazing local!

The house is beautifully presented and very well equipped. We particularly loved upstairs - the views are amazing. Lounge is very comfortable - it was great to curl up on the big corner sofa and watch the word go by. Kitchen is spacious and well furnished - loved the wall of boxes! The decking from the kitchen is a little suntrap and we enjoyed sitting out here with our morning coffee. The garden is fully enclosed so our dogs were safe in it and it is also a suntrap. We don't get the opportunity to sit and sunbathe very often so it was lovely to take an hour out one beautiful sunny afternoon and just do nothing but relax on the loungers.

Instructions and tips and hints were clear and helpful - we liked Andy and Clare's style and approach. Andy was also really helpful in the booking process and the lead up to our stay. The scones, jam and cream that were left for us were much appreciated - nice touch. Only sorry we missed him when we left.

We really enjoyed our stay here - hopefully we'll get the opportunity to return to Newquay in which case we'll definitely be back to 97 Pentire.

A brilliant house

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful time in the house. The weather was a bit variable but it didn't matter. We could watch the weather coming in from the ocean from the safety of the comfy settees. The children loved the upside down house. Every thing we could have wanted was

there including super beds. Lots of things to do in the area and the only problem we had( a light bulb!) was dealt with immediately..

We'd recommend the house to anyone especially a large family. Thank you Andy, we had a ball.

Brilliant Property in a great area

  • 5 of 5

After an initial mishap on the first night (not having the code for the key), everything else turned out wonderfully and the owner resolved the mishap admirably.

The property is luxurious and very comfortable, a perfect haven after days travelling around Cornwall. Two bedrooms have king sized (or larger) beds, and one has a bunk bed, there are two bathrooms (an en-suite and a full family bathroom) and the livingroom/kitchen have wonderful views over Crantock beach and the headland. The listing is totally accurate.

The house is about a 10 minute walk from Fistral beach (down the hill) and we found that Crantock can be accessed via a footbridge which is only open during the Summer (I think the cafe opens the end of May), so for our stay it wasn't open so we had to drive around the other side (about 10-15 minutes)

We brought our dog, and there were plenty of places to walk - the beach(es), the headland (hills) so it was a paradise for her (and me)

Being on the edge of the town, it's fairly easy to drive in and out and travel around, so it was perfect for us as we visited lots of fantastic places in Cornwall - it takes a while to get to the main Newquay town by walk so it's not so convenient for those wanting to party, but for those wishing for a very quiet, beautiful location it's perfect.

I took my in-laws here and they were more than pleased with everything, especially hiring a Morgan car from Perranwell Station (about 25 minutes away) and a Cyder farm (also 25 minutes away) - it was a fantastic trip which we will remember for a long, long time.

Owner's Response: Hi Darren, Thank you for a great review. We'd love to have you all back again and I'll show you some short cuts to Crantock (even when the Fern Pit Cafe is closed) - there are a couple of bridges across the Gannel. Regards, Andy & Claire

Beautiful well located property with great views.

  • 5 of 5

The house is lovely and a thoroughly relaxing place to be. We had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The owner was extremely helpful and provided useful local information prior to our visit. The location is excellent and we had easy access to two great dog friendly beaches. We enjoyed a coffee at the Fern Pit, a drink with a view at the Bougie inn and Lewinick lodge. We enjoyed dinner at the Beach Hut, Offshore in Cubert, the Stable and Bodhi's. I would definitely wish to stay again and will recommend to friends and family.
