About the property

House in Polzeath, Cornwall, 200 yds from spectacular Polzeath Beach

Surf the famous Polzeath waves, discover the hidden secrets of the rock pools, build sandcastles, walk along the coast towards Padstow or Port Isaac, windsurf in Daymer bay, sail from Rock, cycle the Camel Trail, play golf at St Enodoc, visit some of the finest National Trust houses and gardens, then come home to watch the sun set over the sea and Pentire Point from the balcony. Jamie Oliver, Nathan Outlaw and Rick Stein have thrown down the gauntlet with their restaurants at Watergate Bay, Rock, Port Isaac and Padstow and we now have a fabulous selection of bars and restaurants in the area. Polzeath, Rock, and Wadebridge offer an increasingly interesting selection of shops. Polzeath itself is a small but vibrant seaside village offering a good selection of bars, restaurants, cafes, boutiques, a post office and well stocked supermarket so despite the variety of activities in the area, you could always do as we do and hang up the car keys for the week and just enjoy living by the sea. No smoking. Dogs in low season only (and with prior agreement with owners).

About Clare Nash

Trehaven is owned by 2 families who have been holidaying together in Polzeath for over 20 years. Our children have grown up holidaying here together; rock pooling, surfing, building sandcastles and damming rivers. Trehaven is a much loved home from home, infused with sunny memories shared with grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends.

Activity and Interests

Nearest Barpub : Doom Bar at 200 Metres Nearest Restaurant : Numerous at 500 Metres Nearest Beach : Polzeath at 200 Metres Car: recommended

200 yards from the beautiful beaches of Polzeath and Baby Bay. Polzeath Beach is famous for its surfing, and is life guard attended.

30 minutes drive from Newquay Airport and Bodmin Parkway station

Polzeath village is only a 5 minute walk across the beach! Padstow is 30 minutes drive (or for the energetic, an hours walk along the coast path then a ferry across the estuary). Rock, Port Isaac, and Wadebridge are a 15 minute drive. Fowey, The Eden Project, Newquay, St Ives are all an easy day-trip.

Further Details:

The beautiful beach at Daymar Bay is fantastic for windsurfing, small children (no waves), and is dog-friendly. It is a 5 minute drive or 25 minute coastal walk away, and from there you can walk to the ancient church of St Enedoc, which was once buried in the sand dunes and is the burial place for Sir John Betjemen. Rock has some lovely bars and restaurants and a great beach. From there, take the ferry or water taxi to Padstow, where you can enjoy a complete range of culinary delights, from pasties and fish and chips, to one of the many Rick Stein eateries. There is also a variety of pleasure boat cruises and local fisherman operate fishing trips for Pollack and Mackerel. Port Isaac is the location for the filming of the TV series Doc Martin, and the pretty market town of Wadebridge with its delicatessens, wine merchants, antique shops and boutiques is the place to hire bicycles for all ages to cycle the camel trail - a disused railway line from Bodmin, through Wadebridge, to Padstow. Polzeath is famous for its surfing and you can hire boards and wetsuits and book surf lessons.
