A lovely house which was spotlessly clean and well equipped. The rooms were a good size and our generous hosts supplied lots of basic food including tea, coffee, milk, bread and butter, not to mention the bottle of prosecco. It was situated a short walk from the town centre and there was plenty parking. All in all we had a great holiday.

peaceful retreat in Anstruther

This is a lovely house for a break in the East Neuk. It is very clean and comfortable, especially the excellent beds. The owners welcomed us and made sure we had everything we would need for our weekend. They recommended a nearby restaurant, which was very good, and also kindly left a welcome pack for us. There is everything you would need in the kitchen, and the house is a warm and cosy place to return to after a wet walk along the coastal path.

The location of this house is an ideal base to enjoy the award winning beaches and try the many water based activities on offer. Boat trips to the Isle of May leave from Anstruther harbour daily in high season and offer an opportunity to see lots of sea life and birds.

For those who enjoy walking there are many lovely walks including the Fife coastal path.


Edinburgh airport is about 90 minutes by car and Dundee regional airport is 45 minutes away.


The local villages of Crail, Pittenweem with it's Art Festival, St Monans and Elie with it's stunning beach are all only a few minutes away by car or accessible on foot via the coastal path.

The Scottish Fisheries museum is beside the harbour in Anstruther close to the award winning fish & chip shop.

The Secret Bunker, Kellie Castle and St Andrews are all easily accessible by car.
