Set in large garden with an abundance of flowering shrubs and trees. Country living and yet only 5 minutes walk to heart of village. Although the villa is of Spanish design and has many typical Andalucian features, it has been tastefully modernised; ie bathrooms and kitchen. An extensive terrace leads to the pool and overlooks the valley towards Malaga. On the south side there is an outside bar with patio and seating and views of the Sierra Blanca mountain range. From here steps leads to the upper balcony/terrace where you can enjoy an evening sun-downer. At the rear of the villa is the upper lawn and orange, grapefruit, apricot and guava trees. The property is gated and fenced for security. Villa El Porton in secluded setting with spectacular mountain views offering spacious accommodation. Situated in beautiful grounds of 20,000sq mtrs. It is ideal for a relaxing holiday, swim in the pool, take a walk in the finca where you will find olive, lemon, orange, nispero, fig, walnut and pomegranate trees. A 5 minute walk to the nearest village of Alhaurin el Grande (meaning Allah's big garden) where there is a great variety of restaurants, shops and bars.

a beautiful villa with great views in a convenient position

this was are second stay at this lovely villa and we enjoyed it very much again'

we had a very relaxed time there and yet again kate and ken were very good host .

the villa is close to the town centre but far enough out to have a country feel to it .

we will be hopping to go back next year .

we can recommed it for people looking for a bit more real spain

Fabulous Week at a Fabulous Property

8 members of our family travelled over to Spain for a family birthday celebration and we took a chance on this property after seeing it online. Lucky for us that we did! Gorgeous setting, amazing house and pool and lovely owners who we were delighted to meet. Close to the town of Alhaurin El Grande, we had the luxury of walking to the town and relaxing over Tapas and a few beers, then strolling back to the Villa and relaxing around the pool. We all would recommend this villa and fully intend going back ourselves.

An absolutely wonderful Villa.

We were a party of 8, 5 adults and 3 children and Al Proton was plenty big enough for all of us to have our own space.

The kitchen appliances were all top quality and the cooker easy to use, the kitchen area was where we spend most of our time.

The wifi and the TV package in the villa offers you all the channels you would want including all the latest films, which was a lovely way to relax.

The bedding, the towels all immaculate, in fact I cannot think of a negative comment the whole place was well kept and the owners came round to water the garden so all of the beautiful pots and plants looked at there best for us, it made us feel very special.

I could got on and on, needless to say we would highly recommend this beautiful Villa.

Last but my no means least, Kate and Ken the owners, were kind and very helpful, always quick to respond to any queries we may have had, and also when we had a problem with our hire car, Ken without a minutes hesitation took 2 of us into Alhaurin to do some shopping

what a wonderfull villa with great views

our family had a great weeks stay at kate and kens villa , the owners were very welcoming showing us around there beautiful villa with it large modern kitchen extensive gardens and good size pool with great views over the mountains and country side . the villa is well set out with lots of room for a big family or group of friends . it is a short walk to the town up hill but a least it down hill on the way back , we liked it so much that we have preliminary book it again for a week next may .

Stunning Villa

Absolutely wonderful villa, the photos don't do the place justice.

We spent the most amazing week at "El Porton" and wouldn't think twice about going back. It's located just on the outskirts of the town and a short walk up the hill will take you close to shops and restaurants. The nearest supermarket is only 5 minutes drive away and it's very easy to park there.

The villa itself is HUGE. You don't realise from the photos how vast it is. There are lots of separate rooms to chill out and relax in, if you wish. Everything is spotless and the kitchen has all the equipment you need. The beds are comfy and all rooms have aircon. The wifi is good, too.

The outside area is wonderful. There's a lovely shaded area by the pool (including a beer fridge!) along with a large sun terrace and the crystal clear pool. There's also a great BBQ area. Round the side of the property is also a built in bar area - great place to relax in the evening and play cards, etc.

The villa is set in large grounds and is very private. You can drive in, close the gate and forget the rest of the world for a week. This is farming country so expect hear the noises of donkeys and cockerels in the morning!

The owners (Ken and Kate) were very accommodating and couldn't do enough for us. They welcomed us with a bowl of fruit and a bottle of fizz. They popped in each day to feed their dogs that live in a separate run on the property but were no way intrusive. A lovely couple. The dogs were a great bonus for us too as they shared the garden and pool with us!

If you want to experience proper Spain without the tacky Med beaches, etc. then this is the place for you. There are a number of wonderful restaurants close by including The Sardina (tapas) and El Boma (South African)

Overall we loved our time at El Porton and if you're thinking of booking, do it!

Excellent,

We went as a family of 4 and had a brilliant time,the villa was beutiful,very modern but with a rustic feel and the owners were very helpful and welcoming.

I would highly recommend this to anybody as we couldnt find any faults at all and hope to go back next year.

The nearest town of Alhaurin el Grande - meaning Allah's big garden - is 5 minute walk. This Moorish/Spanish town nestles at the foothills of the mountains and is 30 minutes by car to the coast. It sports many good restaurants and bars which are tucked away in a typically Spanish village setting. The old town has interesting architecture and its narrow streets set the picture. There is a sports centre and two gymnasiums.
