Overview

About the property

Barn in Stithians, Nr. Falmouth, Cornwall, England - Granite Barn Conversion, Peaceful Rural Setting, 15 Mins Walk From Lake And 15 Mins Drive To Beach.

Brand new to the market in 2015, The Dairy is a charming grade 2 listed barn conversion adjoining the farmhouse and was recently converted (by the current owners) from two barns, which were previously a milking parlour and piggery. It has a bright lounge/diner with a vaulted ceiling, cosy wood burner and French doors opening out onto the courtyard and garden; two double bedrooms, two bathrooms and a modern fully equipped kitchen. It is contemporary in style and has been decorated with local artwork. The Dairy has its own drive with parking for two cars and we welcome well behaved dogs.

Set in a tranquil location, The Dairy overlooks the courtyard and garden with patio table and chairs and a barbecue. The garden is terraced over three lawned levels and great for garden games. It has a tree swing and a sunken trampoline. The Dairy was once part of the Tretheague Estate with it’s Grade II* listed Georgian Manor house built in 1744 by architect Thomas Edwards. All the old farm buildings are now restored and complete this lovely little hamlet: Tretheague Barton, The Farmhouse, The Cottage, The Dairy, The Piggery, The Granary and The Smithy. The Dairy lies on the edge of Stithians village and is perfectly situated for exploring both the North and South coasts of Cornwall. Truro, Helford Passage, Helston, Redruth and Camborne Mining Heritage, Newquay, St Ives, Padstow, the Lizard, Lands End, Penzance, Mousehole are all within touching distance.

About Jane Williams

Jane And Gwyn would love to welcome you to the Dairy. We have been living in Cornwall since 2002 and absolutely love the life we have. We have two children Bethany and Benjamin 16 and 14 respectively. We moved to Stithians in 2007 and converted the barn initially as ancillary accommodation for relatives and now have recently updated it for holiday letting. We are happy to help in anyway we can to make your holiday as pleasant and enjoyable as possible.

Jane Williams purchased this barn in 2007

Why Jane Williams chose Cornwall

We moved down to Cornwall in 2002 and bought a holiday park which we successfully ran for 6 years but with our children growing up fast we wanted to have a bit more quality time with them and so sold the park and moved to Stithians. We were attracted to it because it is off the beaten track in a nice little hamlet of five or six renovated barns but still close to the village . Stithians is a great location as it is equidistant from the bustling harbour town of Falmouth with its quaint cobbled streets and plethora of bars and restaurants and the city of Truro with its cathedral, shops, and further choice of restaurants. Also being in the middle of the county its great for the choice of north or south coasts , just get up, look at the sky and choose the best coast for the weather

Perfect!!

A magnificent facility which we have just had the pleasure of enjoying. Excellent luxurious accommodation completed to a very high standard with everything provided coupled with a lovely welcome pack over and above what we were expecting, but very much appreciated. Added to that you have the bonus of a fantastic, central and relaxing location which is ideal from which to visit the lovely parts of Cornwall.

Thanks very much for everything.

Perfect!

We had a lovely stay in the dairy last week, myself, my mum and Chester the dog. The friendly owners made us feel very welcome and left us a lovely hamper and essentials which we really appreciated after a long drive. The accommodation is beautifully furnished and very cosy and comfortable....we thought the location was ideal for visiting most parts of Cornwall with lots of places within easy reach. We really enjoyed our holiday and can highly recommend a stay here..we would not hestitate to return to the dairy on future visits to Cornwall.

Cozy dairy

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful time at the barn in Stithians. Jane and Gwyn gave us a very warm welcome. The Dairy met all our demands. Our boys had especially a lot of fun on the trampoline. We appreciated very much that we had some the food to start with on a saturday evening! Small things that make life so much easier. We can only recommend this lovely barn.

A wonderful stay in a beautiful cottage

  • 5 of 5

This cottage acted as a wonderful base for us to explore South Cornwall. The reception we received from Jane and Gwyn was marvelous and their hospitality from start to finish was excellent. There was a hamper full of food, a cream tea, fresh flowers throughout the cottage and the place was spotlessly clean. The facilities provided were the best that we have encountered in any of the numerous properties that we have rented in the UK. We wanted a quiet place for our daughters to revise in for their forthcoming exams and yet somewhere where we could get out and about to the many beaches, towns and attractions in the area. This property provided everything that we needed.
