Recently renovated Holiday Cottage in a leafy corner of the picturesque village of Aberdovey. Peaceful location in the heart of the village, within short walking distance of seafront, jetty, shops, bars and restaurants. Ideal for beach holidays, water sports, golf, walking in Snowdonia and mountain biking. This cottage was originally the old golf club, and has been lovingly renovated to a high standard to provide modern accommodation whilst retaining its quirky character. Accommodation includes a large open plan living room/diner/kitchen with central log burning stove, with ship's ladder to mezzanine and chill out area with views to the Dovey Estuary. Master bedroom with en-suite, two further bedrooms with family bathroom and utility area. The cottage has underfloor heating throughout and is a south facing sun trap, with a large paved balcony ideal for lazing away sunny days. Greenhill Cottage is in a fantastic slightly elevated, wooded and quiet position in the centre of the village, and please note that there are external steps to the property.

We are a group of friends that purchased this derelict cottage in 2013, and have since totally renovated and restored it to a modern, quirky and beautiful seaside cottage.

Why Julie chose Gwynedd - Snowdonia

When we first visited the property back in the summer of 2013 it was overgrown, derelict and in places structurally unstable. However, we all fell in love with it because of its fantastic, south facing, position in a quiet leafy part of Aberdovey. It had such a good feel we couldn't wait to get started!

What makes this cottage unique

Large south facing sun patio (quite unusual in this part of town to have a lot of outdoor space). Quirky character - it used to be the old golf club and was moved from its position on Aberdovey Beach to its current location early in the 20th Century.

Notes on accommodation: Greenhill Cottage has been under renovation since October 2013, and has been re-built to a high standard offering fantastic accommodation with underfloor heating, mezzanine with sea and mountain views, log burning stove, fully fitted kitchen, 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. The Cottage was originally the old Aberdovey Golf Club which was moved from its previous life at the beach, to its current location on Copperhill Street in the 1940s (approx). Since that time it has been used as a family home, and also as accommodation for the Outward Bound Centre. We have upgraded the cottage to modern standards, whilst aiming to retain and enhance its original features to give it a quirky and individual character. Outside: The cottage is south facing and is situated in the centre of a large south facing paved balcony. Outdoor dining facilities include table and chairs, lounge beds and barbeque. Utility Room: Utility room providing washing machine and condenser tumble dryer, iron, ironing board etc. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: The cottage is cleaned at the end of each rental, we will include this in the price quoted. Linen and hand towels provided. Other: Mezzanine to provide chill out space and sea view. Access via ship's ladder (not suitable for children aged 5 or under). Young children must be supervised.

Beautifully renovated property in an absolutely perfect location with magnificent views of the estuary from the terrace. The property was absolutely pristine!.We had fantastic summer weather with high temperatures but i can imagine, given the lovely wood burning stove and underfloor heating that this place would be amazing any time of year. Julie was a fantastic host who always responded to messages and all i can say is that we would love to stay here again in the near future.

Fabulous holiday home with sea view!

My family and I had a wonderful long weekend at Greenhill Cottage. It is beautifully decorated and tucked away in a quiet location but with beautiful views to the estuary and a short walk into the village. Everything we needed was available for a really comfortable and enjoyable weekend.

Beautiful cottage in great location

Beautifully renovated to a very high standard with lovely decorative touches throughout. The fixtures and fittings are top quality and there has obviously been a lot of thought and effort put into ensuring it is equipped with anything you could possibly want for a comfortable and relaxing holiday. Yes there is a flight of steps up to the house, and you cannot park immediately nearby, but we were fully aware of that, and it wasn't an issue as we were provided with a car park pass for the main car park, and often found road-side parking just up the street anyway.

Great Accomodation In Aberdovey

We are a family of 5 and really enjoyed our stay in this totally unique property. The interior is really well designed to make maximum use of the space available and well kitted out with everything you need in a holiday cottage. For us as a family the exterior of the property was a real bonus, the large sun terrace not only provided a great space to sit out, eat and relax but also somewhere to deal with all the wet sandy items a family of five generate after a day on the beach. This outside space is something rarely available in the centre of Aberdovey.

Watersports and mountain biking are popular in this area. The cottage lies within Snowdonia National Park at the foot of the Cambrian Mountains, therefore walking/hiking and mountain biking available locally.


Greenhill Cottage is less than 5 minutes walk from the waterfront in Aberdovey. The beach and jetty here is a haven for watersports including rowing, sailing, windsurfing and jet skiing. The beach lies at the mouth of the estuary and is popular with families. From Aberdovey, you can walk the 4 mile open stretch of beach to Tywyn.


Aberdovey lies on the mid-Wales coast.

Distances approx 115 miles from Birmingham, 120 miles from Manchester and 230 miles from London. It can be accessed via main roads, or alternatively an excellent rail service exists with 2 local stations within walking distance.


Aberdovey lies within Snowdownia National Park.

Further Details:

There are a number of excellent restaurants and bars within walking distance of Greenhill Cottage. These tend to get busy during the summer months and booking is advisable. Within a short walk there is also a good choice of local shops including butchers and post office, cash points, coffee shops and art galleries. There is a small supermarket in Aberdovey, or a larger supermarket in Tywyn (Co-op) which can deliver pre-ordered groceries.
