Recently renovated Holiday Cottage in a leafy corner of the picturesque village of Aberdovey. Peaceful location in the heart of the village, within short walking distance of seafront, jetty, shops, bars and restaurants. Ideal for beach holidays, water sports, golf, walking in Snowdonia and mountain biking. This cottage was originally the old golf club, and has been lovingly renovated to a high standard to provide modern accommodation whilst retaining its quirky character. Accommodation includes a large open plan living room/diner/kitchen with central log burning stove, with ship's ladder to mezzanine and chill out area with views to the Dovey Estuary. Master bedroom with en-suite, two further bedrooms with family bathroom and utility area. The cottage has underfloor heating throughout and is a south facing sun trap, with a large paved balcony ideal for lazing away sunny days. Greenhill Cottage is in a fantastic slightly elevated, wooded and quiet position in the centre of the village, and please note that there are external steps to the property.
This partner has demonstrated and is committed to fast response times, the best rates, and a great guest experience.
We are a group of friends that purchased this derelict cottage in 2013, and have since totally renovated and restored it to a modern, quirky and beautiful seaside cottage.
Julie purchased this cottage in 2013
When we first visited the property back in the summer of 2013 it was overgrown, derelict and in places structurally unstable. However, we all fell in love with it because of its fantastic, south facing, position in a quiet leafy part of Aberdovey. It had such a good feel we couldn't wait to get started!
Large south facing sun patio (quite unusual in this part of town to have a lot of outdoor space). Quirky character - it used to be the old golf club and was moved from its position on Aberdovey Beach to its current location early in the 20th Century.
Beautifully renovated property in an absolutely perfect location with magnificent views of the estuary from the terrace. The property was absolutely pristine!.We had fantastic summer weather with high temperatures but i can imagine, given the lovely wood burning stove and underfloor heating that this place would be amazing any time of year. Julie was a fantastic host who always responded to messages and all i can say is that we would love to stay here again in the near future.
Had a super stay here, this is a great property that has been well thought through for visiting guests. Feels homely and cosy. Highly recommended, in a lovely spot with sea views in the charming Aberdovey.
Fantastic, comfy cottage in a quiet raised plot, 3 minutes walk from the wonderful beach at Aberdovey. It would be great to sit outside in warmer weather, but very cosy for us over Christmas . Very clean and well equipped with everything you could possibly need. Felt like home. Sorry to leave. The clothes dryer was so good it inspired us to get one when we got home! Could do with another light on the lower outside steps at night......
The cottage has been beautifully restored and refurbished with tasteful furnishing, decoration and appliances throughout. The open plan kitchen, dining and living area, with a clever mezzanine overlooking it, manage to combine a cosy feel whilst giving plenty of space. The three bedrooms are roomy, one having an en-suite shower room and the other two sharing a second. The outside area has a large terrace with sea views, with plenty of seating and a barbeque. Just a few minutes walk to the village centre and the beach, with a free parking permit supplied for the main car park, this cottage really is perfect for a relaxing break at any time of the year.
We stayed at this cottage for a week at the end of August and had a fabulous time. The weather was excellent which always helps in the UK so we were able make good use of the outside space. Even if the weather hadn't been great the inside of the cottage was very nicely done and a pleasure to spend time in.
It was clean, well maintained and with good quality furnishings which we were well impressed with.
The children (11 and 15) loved the mezzanine level in the lounge/kitchen and the 3 bedrooms / 2 bathrooms were ideal for our group which included 4 adults and a Labrador as well as the children.
The cottage is situated just a few minutes walk from the front and a couple of minutes more to get to the part of the beach that the dog was allowed on. Fantastic location!
The beach is a wide expanse of sand, ideal for dog walking!
Overall, we enjoyed everything about this holiday and hope to visit again in the future.
Great place, comfortable surroundings and well equipped property. We know the area well having stayed many times. Our only complaint would be the two single beds in the kids room. Both were very uncomfortable, springs easily felt through the fabric. Everything else was great, we had a lovely week.
