Apartment in Kalamar Road, Kalkan, Mediterranean, Turkey - Our Apartment Is A 10 Minute Stroll To Town And Beach
Our apartment is at first floor level via stairs, within a small complex of 5 other apartments. Our apartment is situated on the Kalamar Road in Kalkan Turkey, set into lush tropical garden of palm trees and bougainvillea plants. We have a manager (who speaks perfect English) to greet you on your arrival and is always on hand to make your stay both memorable and enjoyable. There is a well stocked supermarket opposite. A large market for bargain hunters, and many excellent restaurants.
About the Owner
We have been holidaying in Kalkan since 2002 where we rented from a well know holiday company called Tapestry Holidays staying at the Beyhan Apartments. When the owner decided to sell in 2005 we decided to buy our apartment. We have never looked back.
We fell in love with Kalkan where the Turkish people are so friendly and welcoming. We meet the same people out there year after year, where we have been excepted as part of the local community.
We have been letting since 2005 with many of our guests returning year after year.

We cannot recommend this apartment enough with its spacious bedrooms, large kitchen and lounge and an amazing large balcony overlooking the pool - fully equipped with BBQ - a perfect sun trap with beautiful views in a stunning location. Fourth time back and even extended our hols by three more days as didn't want to leave!!!!!!! Many thanks to Di and John.
Home from Home.
For our second visit to Kalkan we wanted to stay in an apartment rather that a hotel and John and Di's apartment was a good choice. It is a real home from home and had everything we needed. There are so many excellent restaurants in Kalkan, so we ate out every night, but with a large fridge and decent size freezer and a four ring hob, we could have cooked our own meals in the evening. There is a small well stocked supermarket opposite and also a cocktail bar above (great for early evening or late evening drinks). These are not noisy and did not disturb us at all. There is a good pool with sun beds, but some days we simply just lazed on the balcony which is a good size and well equipped with sun beds dining table and chairs. There is air con units in both bedrooms and two large free standing fans in the living room, these were certainly needed as summer arrived as we did. We were there two week and at the end of the first week two ladies arrived to change bedding and towels and to clean the apartment, definitely the most relaxing holiday we have had.

“We purchased our apartment after having holidays there since 2002, with Tapestry Holidays. Our Apartment is in a small complex comprising of six apartments and three villas. It is on the first floor, via stairs. We have a small but well stocked supermarket opposite the apartments where the owners speak good English. We are located on the main Kalamar Road, which is a 10 minute stroll to the town centre which has plenty of restaurants, cafe’s, bars, shops and banks. There is also fresh fruit and veg grocers, butchers and cake shops and get your fresh bread. You can also enjoy a drink or meal down by the harbour which also overlooks the small pebble beach. On the main Kalamar Road, there is a Doctors – Clinic – Dentist and Pharmacy, where they all speak good English.”
Activity and Interests
Kalkan has a pebble beach, with sun loungers and parasols that you can hire. This is a fifteen minute stroll down to the beach and harbour. There is also a large sandy beach at Patara, where you can drive or catch a Dolmus (bus) or taxi. There are beach clubs scattered with Kalkan bay which are accessible via free water taxis that run backwards and forwards all day, they all have food and drink available.
The nearest airport to Kalkan is Dalaman Airport (1.45) hours transfer. We can arrange your transfer for you if you wish or a hire car if you wish to drive yourself.
You pay the transfer driver yourselves as I do not get involved with the money side of things.
Car hire is not essential due to the apartment being located within easy walking distant to town.
Kalkan is well located to reach many places of interest either by Dolmus, taxi or organised trips which can be book with local travel agency's such as Jeep Safaries, Kekova Sunken City, Saklikent Gorge etc.
General distances to surrounding locations, Dalaman 1.45 hrs, Fethiye 1 hr, Kas 30 mins.
We are located on the main Kalamar Road, which is a ten minute stroll to the town centre, which has plenty of Restaurants, Cafés, Bars, Shops and Banks.
There are also plenty of fresh fruit and veg grocers, butchers, cake and bread shops.
There is a large Thursday Market where you can haggle with the market traders to get a bargain, all good fun.

“Our apartment has two bedrooms, the main bedroom has a very large double bed, wardrobe, dressing table and hair dryer. The second bedroom has twin beds, wardrobe, dressing table and hair dryer. The lounge has a three piece suite coffee table, TV –CD/Radio and two fans. The kitchen Diner has a fridge/freezer, washing machine, dishwasher and 4 ring gas hob and a microwave. Dining table and four chairs. Hot and Cold water drinks machine. Outside we have a large balcony with plants, table and chairs and two sun loungers where you can relax and catch the last of the evening sun before it goes down. We also have a patio settee and two chairs where you can have a drink overlooking the pool before you get ready to eat out at one of the many restaurants.”

Outside: We have a very large balcony with plants, table and chairs, two sun loungers, we also have a patio settee and two chairs, that overlook the pool. Two very large parasols, integrated BBQ. The balcony is situated so you can relax and catch the last of the evening sun before it goes down. The swimming pool is shared (not heated) with sun beds and parasols for your use. Please note parents are responsible for their children at all times. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Sheets and towels are provided. Please BRING YOUR OWN POOL/BEACH TOWELS. Sheets and towels are changed weekly.
