We are both British and having lived in Sweden, Norway, Italy and Germany through work, we didn't find many places to compare to the beautiful Antequera and we decided to settle here. Our friendly neighbours and welcoming local bars and restaurants with fabulous boutique shops for those tempted to browse.

Perfect location in older part of town, but with parking just across the way. Comfortable beds, good books, well equipped kitchen, lots of information about the area, and immaculately clean. The owners were very responsive during the booking process, and very helpful in person. Antequera is delightful in itself, and a great center from which to explore this part of Andalucia.

Excellent home from home

What a lovely find. We stayed in Antequera at the end of August as my husband was keen to catch the stage of the La Vuelta and we love Antequera anyway. The accommodation was spotlessly clean and very cosy.

A welcome bottle of bubbles waiting for us in the fridge from Dave And Jane and a complimentary voucher for tapas at the local which is very popular and well worth a visit.

I would highly recommend this property to anyone else looking to stay in Antequera. You will not be disappointed. The owners have just about thought of everything - from coolbox and freezer blocks for your picnics to logs for the cosy woodburner if you travel at a cooler time of the year.

Jane was very helpful in advising us on the local outdoor swimming pools and we appreciated that as the temperature when we stayed was in the late 30's.

Nothing is too much trouble. Thank you David and Jane for all of your kind assistance.

Amazing holiday in Antequera!

Great location up in the old town next to the castle. Fab private accommodation with owners on hand if needed. Scrupulously clean and well equipped the property had everything we could need and the owners have been busy putting in new bathroom and redecorating so it was all fresh and very welcoming.

Its an easy stroll to the best view of Antequera and La Pena with the church of Santa Maria and El Escribano restaurant well worth a visit. Museums and Plaza Coso Viejo also very close by. We loved having tapas at plaza del portichuelo. We have been to Antequera many times an this has been the best place we stayed. Antequera is a fabulous town and we loved living like a local while here. Thanks Jane and David, we hope to be back!

Hübsch eingerichtete Wohnung in toller Lage

Netter Empfang, schöne Wohnung, gut ausgestattete Küche, traumhafte Blicke ins Umland, Parkplatz nahe beim Haus, kurzer Fußweg ins Stadtzentrum, größtenteils ruhig, angenehme Atmosphäre durch viele, auch englischsprachige Bücher, auch einige englischsprachige Filme vorrätig, Klimaanlage und Holzheizung, und und und ...

Nur der Verkehr direkt am Haus vorbei (gepflasterte Straße) war teilweise etwas störend, die Schallisolierung könnte evtl. verbessert werden.

Tipp für Reisende, die außerhalb des Sommers in Südspanien sind: Fliesenböden sind kalt! (unsere Schuld, dass wir das nicht bedacht haben)

Car: recommended


Beaches can be accessed within 40 minutes drive to the coast. The beautiful Ardales lakes are also a short drive away where you can kayak, pedalo and BBQ in these fabulous surroundings. The local outdoor swimming pool is close by in town and the surrounding villages all have beautiful outdoor pools (seasonal)

The fabulous Torcal Mountain Range is visible from the property and is only a 20 minute drive away. The now famous EL CHORRO gorge is around 35 minutes by car or a beautiful 15 minute train journey from the local nearby station which we are happy to drive you to. There are far too many fabulous places nearby to list here. Book now for your best holiday yet!

All airports are accessible by bus or train


El Torcal, this famous landmark is a short drive from your accommodation and can be seen from the balcony.

The famous EL Chorro Gorge with newly opened Caminito Del Rey walk.

Beaches can be accessed within 40 minutes drive to the coast. The beautiful Ardales lakes are also a short drive away where you can kayak, pedalo and BBQ in these fabulous surroundings.

Further Details:

Close to your accommodation at the other end of the street are family friendly tapas bars, a few minutes walk more will have you at the bottom of the hill and into town.

There are local convenience stores within walking distance for milk, bread and other essentials. The bread van stops outside the door twice daily.

The small bus can be caught from the end of the road which can take you into town.

As well as all the fabulous churches, museums, monuments and places of interest there are some lovely outdoor swimming pools.
