David and Lisa originally from Fife and Cumbria worked for many years in London’s musical higher education. Having enjoyed various stays in Fife they were delighted in 2009 to acquire the Wemyss cottage finding it the perfect bolt-hole, travelling there with their two children whenever possible, the serene setting providing the perfect antidote to city life, no matter the season. Having discovering a real affection for the area they recently relocated to a leafy part of nearby Kirckcaldy. It was decided to retain the cottage for visiting acquaintances and to share through Owners Direct.
Lisa Rattray purchased this cottage in 2010
Conveniently positioned and well equipped property for a relaxing stay. Ideally placed for Edinburgh Fringe and Pittenween Arts Festival as well as wonderful, relaxing walks on local beaches. The property caters for all being well equipped for a family. Perhaps a small instruction book for some equipment might be beneficial. I would recommend West Wemyss and this property for a very relaxing stay.
This was the perfect place to spend a few days away from city life. The cottage was spotlessly clean and very well appointed with top quality appliances, quality bedding, comfortable furnishings and reliable wifi. It has stunning views out the back (from the kitchen, living room and master bedroom) over the Bay which looked like the Mediterranean in the evening! The owners were extremely helpful. There's a lovely coastal path, harbour and pretty village to explore too. I can't recommend it highly enough!
The cottage is well placed, has fantastic sea views and was incredibly tranquil. It was also well equipped. Lisa was a fast responding, solicitous hostess. What more can you want?
This was a very convenient cottage for us and we were pleasantly surprised that it was in a lovely cul-de-sac, which was very peaceful. Don't think photo's do it justice. At rear it was great to look over rooftops from rear windows and see the Cargo ships going into Edinburgh.
Accommodation was very comfortable, good quality furnishings and very well equipped.
Some interruptions with TV reception, not Sky, wouldn't normally bother us, but the snooker final was on and it seemed to lose signal on every crucial pot.
Plenty of towels, blankets, essential toiletries etc provided, good welcome pack with all essentials and a bottle of wine. Heating system very efficient but it seemed a warm cottage and didn't really use it much.
Laptop provided, didn't use but a nice touch.
Perhaps a more efficient vacumn cleaner would be useful.
Overall an enjoyable comfortable stay.
Very impressed with the cottage,we had a fantastic time ,would highly recommend it to anyone who is visiting this area.
The owner Lisa was very helpful and made our stay so special.
We had a very comfortable stay at Crest Cottage over the Christmas Holidays. Lisa the owner was very helpful and organised things at late notice for us, making the cottage very homely with a Christmas tree and lots of special treats too. Very much home from home with wonderful views in a very sweet little village. Would happily use again and highly recommend.
