Grade 2 listed 3 storey,3 bedroom house in village setting near to the stunning Northumbrian coastline/ countryside.Garden/parking

Cobblers Cottage is a lovely stone built grade two listed three storey home,it is positioned in the centre of Belford which is an old coaching village the house overlooks the village square which often hosts markets & village events. Cobblers cottage has three bedrooms (sleeping 6) & a travel cot is available for young children.There is one family bathroom. The lounge in the cottage is quite large & also has a dining area it was originally the shop & has large windows facing south making it a sunny bright room. The kitchen is well equipped & there is a good sized entrance hall leading from the kitchen with double doors that open onto a rear patio & a gated gravelled area which is safe for children beyond that there is private parking for two cars.

About sue oxley

I have lived in Northumberland all of my life & wouldn't want to live anywhere else. Paul & I have been married 40 years & have two daughters & three grandchildren. Both of us coming from large families means family & friends are very important to us (any excuse for a get together). Cobblers Cottage feels like an extension of this I love getting ready for guests arrival & try hard to make sure that I have catered for anything that I think will be needed. It means a lot to me that you feel welcome & "at home" . I try to provide those little things that are a pain to go out & buy on your holidays. I well remember arriving at our holiday cottage after a very long hot drive & not even having a tea bag & milk , therefore you will always arrive to tea coffee milk & a little welcome pack, my sister (auntie Mand)provides me with home made cake & jam made with fruit from her organic allotment.

I can't control the weather, but I want you to feel comfortable, relaxed & to enjoy Cobblers as much as we do. Treat it as your home that's the biggest compliment to us & hopefully we'll be welcoming you back soon.

Cobblers is a lovely house, it's bright , homely & very relaxing. It's perfect for families being over three floors, or for couples as you just dont use the top floor. I love the position it's so central for coast & country in a fabulous part of Northumberland. The Scottish borders are just a short drive away & East Lothian is well worth a visit. North Berwick is a lovely day out with a trip to the Seabird centre & a boat trip round Bass rock .

It's hard to appreciate how well positioned Cobblers is for exploring this lovely area.

Notes on accommodation: Cobblers Cottage is a lovely house which is suitable for couples or for a family, it has lots of room & some lovely little quiet areas. The rear gated patio/garden is safe for the children & fantastic on summer evenings to sit out on. There is private parking for two cars beyond the gated area which leads directly to the house. Outside: To the rear of the house there is a patio area which leads onto a gravelled area with a couple of small flower beds this area is gated & therefore quite safe for children. Beyond that there is private parking for two cars. This leads onto a rear lane (not a main road) which is really just access to other homes.There is a weber charcoal BBQ provided & outdoor dining table & seating, there is also a few childrens outdoor games & seaside equipment. Utility Room: There is a utility area within the entrance hall at the rear of the house it has a washing machine, iron, ironing board & airer. There is a washing line outside. Cleaning / Towels / Linen All towels: Hand/Bath/Kitchen /Bathroom are provided.Tea towels dishcloth & scourer provided. Bedlinen is provided covers are in the form of duvets. The property is cleaned & the linen is changed weekly.

Fantastic cottage, fantastic owner

Cobblers Cottage was fantastic. The location is great for exploring Northumberland and the village of Belford is idyllic.

The cottage was very clean and well equipped with great attention to detail. What really made it for us though was the small touches by the owner. There were provitions there on arrival including a lovely cake and wine alongside tea, milk and eggs etc. We even had chocolates on the beds. Our two small boys loved the collection of toys and games which included buckets and spades and frisbees. There was everything we could ask for in respect of the boys- travel cot, high chair, potty, kids cutlery, cups, plates, stair gates. ... the list is endless.

Overall a great week in a great cottage. Thank you Sue.

Super place to stay in Northumberland

We had a lovely stay at Cobbler's cottage. It was well-maintained, clean and had a lot of cheerful paintings. I also particularly liked the paintings/pictures of nearby castles and country houses. Our welcome pack was great, even better than we had anticipated with homemade cake and jam among a few other things. Sue was very welcoming and thorough in response to queries. There was attention to detail in every aspect.

It is also a handy location- the village is not too busy, but there was still a selection of shops and pubs. Being near the A1 made it very easy to get to attractions including Alnwick and Lindisfarne.

I would not hesitate to recommend it and hope to go back there one day.

Northumberland at its best

We stayed at the cottage for 10 days this summer and had an amazing time. From the moment we arrived we felt complete welcome and at home, everything was perfect and Sue was so incredibly helpful and friendly. The house was beautifully clean and everything that a family could need was there. The house was a perfect place to visit the local attractions, so close to castles and the beach. We had a wonderful time and we definitely stay again.

Great place for family

Great property, really nicely done out, feels like a home from home, you can tell its a loved cottage. We went with our 2 young boys and had a fab time, great location to easily get to the beaches and castles. Get pubs around and about too. Lovely touch with the welcome pack! We'll be back soon.

Holiday property review

The property is ideally situated for sightseeing around Northumberland with a 10 minute drive to Bamburgh. Lovely warm welcome to the house and some really very nice finishing touches. The property is in a village with a good pub and farm shop both of which served good quality and reasonably priced food.

Discount for couples...
A 50% deposit is required at the time of booking, the balance to be paid 6 weeks before the holiday. In the event of cancellation we endeavour to re-let the house & if successful a refund will be made after deducting a handling charge of £10.00 per week. Should we be unable to let the house then all the monies would be forfeited. We would therefore recommend that you take out your own ins policy.

Changeover Day:
Changeover day will be on a Saturday but we can be flexible, arrival is not before 3pm & departure 10am again we have a small amount of flexibility but only with prior agreement. A discount of 10% will be give with holidays booked & taken within 14 days.

Notes on prices:
Prices are per week but at certain times we will be happy to negotiate shorter breaks. We can also offer a discount for couples.

A 50% deposit is required at time of booking with the balance due 6 weeks prior to holiday

Owner's Cancellation Policy

  • 50% refund for cancellations more than 7 days before check-in date.
  • 100% refund for cancellations more than 14 days before check-in date.
