Carvossa. In Marazion. 5 minutes from St.Michael's Mount and Mount Bay's beach.

Overview

Property

Updated: 23-Nov-2016
Beautiful Cottage. 3 bedrooms, sleeps 5. near St Michaels Mount, Parking place.

Carvossa must surely be one of the most outstanding cottages in Cornwall. The discerning owners have restored the cottage to a very high specification and converted it into an 'upside down' house with kitchen, living room and dining room upstairs to make the most of the space and sea views towards St Michael's Mount.

Carvossa features in 'English Homes' magazine, October 2016 edition.

Original features abound with stripped woodwork, bare floorboards, shabby chic paintwork, exposed beams and vaulted ceiling. All furnishings are in a vintage French style painted in subtle pastel colours and are of a high standard. The living room has a comfortable settee and chairs around the log burning stove and is equipped with a smart TV / DVD. The open plan dining area compliments the living area with a very useful large painted dining table and opens into the well equipped kitchen which is superbly fitted in complete keeping with the character and charm of this stunning property. On this floor there is a single bedroom with dressing table.

Downstairs the master bedroom has a large vintage French double bed, large chest of drawers, dressing table and wardrobe. To compliment this romantic bedroom is an electric effect wood burning stove. Bi-fold doors opening directly onto the private rear patio garden.

There is a further twin bedroom with dressing table, wardrobe and bedside tables.

The superb bathroom has a roll top enamel bath and walk in shower room with pebble floor.

The floor in all rooms downstairs is tiled and benefits from under floor electric heating. There is a further small seating area down stairs. There is parking for 1 x family size car approx. 3 minutes away. Carvossa is conveniently located just a five minute walk from Marazion's quaint town centre with its cafes, traditional pubs, high quality restaurants and specialist shops selling crafts produced by local artists. The cottage is a 7 minute walk from the safe sandy beaches of Mounts Bay from where you can look across to St Michaels Mount - surely one of the most incredible seaside views in England. Marazion is within easy travelling distance of all the major attractions in West Cornwall, which makes the cottage a perfect base for a Cornish holiday. The Tate Gallery in St Ives, the remarkable Minack Theatre, St Michaels Mount and several other outstanding National Trust properties and gardens are just some of the ‘South West Top Twenty’ visitor attractions within easy reach. Being just 3 miles from Penzance, Marazion has excellent road and rail links and is well placed for the International airports at Newquay and Exeter, with convenient flights from several UK and European airports.

What an absolutely stunning cottage. There is nothing to not like. Every room has been thought out & its location is perfect. Accommodation has everything you would want & you can park your car & leave it if you want a restful break around Marazion. Very quiet in the evening. The outside area with shower a real surprise & there are no negatives about this property. Clean, cosy, comfortable and a pleasure to stay in - would highly recommend.

Location

From the Owner

Carvossa is simply stunning...... This 350 year old granite and cob cottage has been sympathetically renovated and beautiful decor to provide a warm and homely cottage feel. Described by English Homes magazine October 2016 edition as having an 'aesthetic mix of Scandanavian style with a selection of natural colours and textures providing a calm and welcoming retreat with intriguing touches everywhere'. This cottage has style and character that has to be experienced to be believed. To top it all, the amazing beaches and magnificent island fortress of St Michaels Mount are a short stroll away.
