Fantastic little cottage
We had the best time staying at owl cottage it was clean, well equipped and right in the centre of appleby. We found the correspondence with Angela very easy and she was so helpful when chatting to hercabd in the handwritten letter she sent us. We were informed that a small car could park at the door but found our toyota avensis estate fitted just fine. The bed was really comfortable and i have say the fact there is no light coming in the bedroom at night was a delight. Fantastic cottage i cant wait to re visit.

Wonderful Cottage
We had a wonderful stay at this perfect cottage. It was two blocks to the town center where there was several pubs and a small grocery store. Our personal favorite pub was Crown and Cushion. Some of the best food we have had in England. There were also a few cafes close by, but we did not go to them. The bed was very comfortable and the cottage was very quiet. Full kitchen and full size refrigerator. Lots of hot water for the shower. The living room had lots of seating with a table and chairs for two, a rocking chair, and an L-shaped couch. The gas fire place was a nice feature and easy to operate. Very fun to learn from residents at St Ann’s Almshouse next door that this cottage was originally built in the 17th century as the almshouse community room. It was centrally located for travel throughout Cumbria. I would gladly stay here again.

.My father was born in Cumbria when it was known as Cumberland. Most of my relatives live in the county.

Why they chose this property

.Appleby is an interesting town with some very old buildings. The local people are really friendly. It is close to Windermere. Kendal, Keswick and the lakes to the west and Barnard's Castle, Durham and the Pennines to the east. There are stone circles in the area including Long Meg and her Daughters, Hadrian's Wall is to the north. There is a lot to choose from and in the centre of Appleby there is a very friendly Tourist Information Centre in the Moot Hall (a white building near to the church cloisters). Enjoy.

What makes this property unique

The cottage is very reasonably priced at £60 per night for every night of the year irrespective of bank holidays. There is a minimum stay of 3 night at a cost of £180..
