We had a lovely break away and the accommodation was extremely clean and well equipped.

I would recommend the barn to anyone wanting a lovely, quiet break.

Even in November

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I, plus a blind Labrador and a working springer spaniel, enjoyed two weeks in Tanglewood. Homemade cake (which disappeared very rapidly) and a pint of semi-skimmed in the fridge were a nice welcoming touch. Tanglewood was ideal for us. Even though the weather was mild for November, it was lovely to have the central heating throbbing along, keeping the place toasty and the bath towels dry. The garden was fenced so the dogs were secure, and the hard floor made a daily sweep up of fur and beach sand an easy task. It was beautifully clean and the level of equipment ample without being excessive. Wifi was fine, most of the time, which was a boon in a county where high-speed broadband rollout has been notoriously patchy. The owners were consistently friendly and helpful and responded to cries for help (no hot water, one evening, turned out to be one button requiring to be pressed on the boiler) promptly and with good humour. I would certainly recommend this property.

Better than a holiday abroad.

  • 5 of 5

Having stayed at Nursery Farm before we returned and stayed in the recently completed two-storey barn conversion, Deerewood. It is perfect for our family get-away (plenty of space for larger families). A pint of milk and a home-made cake were in the cottage for us, so we felt relaxed and 'on holiday' from the moment we arrived. There is a grass field and small [private] woodland behind the cottage, providing plenty of space for a quiet walk or adventurous space for the children to play safely. It is just a short drive to Cromer town and beach. We enjoyed a beautiful day on the Norfolk Broads (only 20 minutes drive away), and cycling through the quiet lanes. There are a couple of supermarkets nearby to get the shopping in and plenty of space in the well-equipped kitchen (although we did get take-away delivered one night!). The cottage has been designed, finished and furnished beautifully and I would (and have) recommended to friends.

Room for all the family!

  • 5 of 5

This was the 3rd year running that we've stayed in Deerewood Cottage and our 9th visit to Thorpewood Cottages! We love it here! Deerewood is the newest and largest of the cottages and is a real home from home. The cottage was ideal for us, our two grown up children and their partners. It was clean and spacious and had everything we needed. The owners are very friendly and welcoming, leaving a home-baked cake in the kitchen and a pint of milk in the fridge, and are happy to assist and advise on local pubs, restaurants and attractions. There are so many places to visit in the area, every year we find somewhere new to visit. This year it was Happisburgh Owl Sanctuary. I would highly recommend Deerewood Cottage to friends and family and look forward to staying there again next year!
