Delightful family friendly villa, recently refurbished with private heated pool

Updated: 16-Oct-2016
Villa in Cebazan near St Chinian / Beziers, Herault, Languedoc Roussillon - Wonderful location, just minutes from the village of Cebazan in the middle of wine country

Charming family friendly villa sitting in an acre of private grounds offering panoramic views, steps away from a tranquil and traditional working French village. With over 300 days of sunshine in the region and a particularly favourable microclimate in Cebazan, this is a great place to relax and catch some rays.

Villa Alais is located in a charming village near St Chinian in the middle of wine country, recently renovated to combine traditional French characteristics with modern comforts. Please note that the Villa is being redecorated in Spring 2016 and there is a new shower room - the website will shortly be updated with additional internal photo's, but in summary the Villa offers a fully equipped family kitchen, separate dining room with seating for 8+, large lounge with plenty of comfy seating and twin french doors opening onto the front terrace. The house is fully furnished with an elegant mix of old and new pieces, in addition to a full stock of modern conveniences including wifi, widescreen HD TV, DVD player, playstation…

There are multiple terraces around the villa that catch the sun across the day, perfect to take coffee and croissants in the morning or a sundowner before dinner in the afternoon. If you are looking for a calm retreat to recharge your batteries then this is it, with great wine, great food and lots of space to relax in the sunshine.

The relaxed working village of Cebazan is on your doorstep, with a great bakery and fabulous wine tasting only steps away. The AOC wine making town of St Chinian is 3 kilometres away: five minutes in the car, 16 minutes by bicycle and about 35 minutes walk along the quiet country roads that pass old ruins and offer views to the med.

The villa is equipped with all of the conveniences you need to make the most of your holiday including a private solar heated swimming pool, two BBQs (one gas / one charcoal 'oven') and there are also a couple of bicycles available to use if you feel the urge to explore. Villa Alais is very family friendly - designed with our little one in mind - with high chair, child cot, stair-gate, children's toys and even a bottle steriliser available. If there is anything in particular that you might need, please send us an enquiry and we will do our best to accommodate.

Great beaches are easily accessible along the Languedocienne coast: our favourite is Serignan Plage which is just 30 minutes away. For the more adventurous, Kayaking, Horse Riding and several other activities are easily accessible as an alternative to more relaxed pastimes such as the wine tours that are very popular in this region.

About the Owner

Villa Alais is a little sea of peace and tranquility!

We have been taking holidays in the Languedoc region for several years and simply love the area. We love it so much that we bought Villa Alais at he beginning of 2015 after struggling to find somewhere to rent that gave us everything we wanted for weeks in the summer with little ones.

We hope you enjoy Villa Alais as much as we do!

Feeling very sad as we are packing up! We have had a super time here at your villa. Weather has been gloriously sunny apart from one day when it was cloudy.

We have been out a few times but we wanted a chilling out type of holiday and that is exactly what we have had!

Thanks very much!

A wonderful stay in peaceful sunny tranquility

  • 5 of 5

We had a lovely stay in Villa Alais and can only thank David and Sarah for the "loan" of. The Villa itself offers everything that you need and has so much space to spread into. We loved eating in the evening at the outside table by the BBQ and watch the sun go down and would breakfast in the morning on the front terrace, two totally different aspects. The pool is an absolute bonus and there were enough loungers / chairs for everyone!

The local area is very peaceful and rustic but within easy reach of so much. We all loved walking over the top, through the vineyards to the village of St Chinian (about an half hour walk). The village is very buzzy, particularly on Sunday market day plus good restaurants and bars on offer.

Our party consisted of 5 adults with varied interests. Everything to enjoy was never too far, canoeing, golf, walking and cycling right on your doorstep. I would recommend a visit to Valras Plage, lovely beach with good restaurants, men playing boules - a French delight.

Also during our stay we were lucky to see the grapes being harvested and delivered to the local distilleries, I could go on but really just to say we had a lovely holiday and are definitely considering going back.

Villa Alais is an ideal base for a holiday

  • 3 of 5

Villa Alais is a great base for relaxing and enjoying the Languedoc region. The villa is as described on the website. The owners liaise with you efficiently and the pool is well maintained during your stay. The beaches are about 40 minutes away and there is plenty of kayaking, horse-riding, walking and cycling (though not for the faint hearted) in the area.

spacious villa ideal to explore beautiful region

  • 5 of 5

As two families with kids of varying ages, this was a fantastic base for us to explore the Languedoc region. The house is spotlessly clean equipped with every thing you could need and more, particularly taking the stresses away from having to transport the usual paraphernalia accompanying young children on holiday. The pool is secured with the fence around it and remained at a fab temperature for the whole week. The tennis court located a couple of mins walk was put to good use as was the boulangerie. St Chinian is very close for supplies shopping and a fab market on the sunday morning. The coast is a short drive away as are the delights of the river for swimming/kayaking. Sarah was great at keeping us informed and making us feel welcome in their lovely home. We can HIGHLY recommend this as a lovely base to enjoy a family summer holiday.

A lovely, relaxing holiday

  • 5 of 5

Thank you Sarah and David for our relaxing holiday in your beautiful house. This was a great place to stay in a quiet village away from the frantic summer holiday chaos. The house was everything we expected and more, with loads of space and every useful item we might ever require. The kids and ourselves enjoyed the pool and the grounds and made great use of the local tennis court and boules area. The surrounding area was beautiful although we were so happy in our surroundings, we felt very little need to venture anywhere too far. I would recommend this lovely retreat for any family hoping to escape the summer holiday madness for a well earned rest!

A wonderful place to escape to!

  • 5 of 5

A perfect place to escape to and chill! The house was charming, a great blend of classic french with a splash of modern convenience. It was bigger than I expected, with lots of gardens and places to soak up the sun , including a great pool. I really loved the wine tasting - there are several 'degustastions' in the village, a very easy walk away. If you love living the french lifestyle ...this is the perfect spot. And yes...I'll definitely be going back.
