Nice cosy holiday home with everything you need

  • 5 of 5

A cosy house with pretty much everything you need for a holiday! Very clean and tidy, with modern and looks almost as new kitchen and bathroom. Knowing we are coming with a toddler, highchair and kids toys (the amount of toy vehicles were amazing!) were made available, as well as stair gates which comes in handy esp with those rather steep stairs. Very thoughtful homely touches – welcome gift, cleaning equipment (mindfully stored in a childproof cupboard), and the basic teas, coffees, sugar, salt and pepper all available. Parking on the street isn’t a problem throughout our stay, children’s playground, a Co-Op and a very big Tesco nearby comes in very handy for stocking up supplies. We had nice weather during our stay so we made use of the BBQ and met the neighbours on both side who were all very friendly and helpful, telling us where to go around Portland and Weymouth. Perhaps the thing for suggestion is to change the bulky dining set as with just the 2 adults with a highchair set up, there’s hardly any room left in the dining area, so I think if you have 4 or even 6 people in the house, it would be a bit cramp. Beds are on the soft side to our likings (personal preference obviously!), although our toddler had very good night sleep during the stay with the help of almost blackout curtains and comfy beddings.

Lovely house, very comfortable stay.

  • 5 of 5

Beautifully refurbished little terraced house with comfortable furnishings. Conveniently situated near Easton Park and all local village amenities. Neat garden with table, chairs and BBQ. Frequent bus service to Weymouth passes the door. Bike hire shop and cafe 2 doors down the street. Other cafes, takeaways and pubs nearby in village. Good dog walks locally amongst the old stone quarry workings. Friendly neighbourhood, Methodist church at street corner has frequent coffee mornings.

Only possible disadvantage, steep stairs especially to 2nd floor may be unsuitable for the elderly.

Lovely place to stay

  • 5 of 5

We found the house very clean, comfortable and well stocked with everything you need. There is an enclosed garden for the dogs and the house is well placed for a local play area, shops and pubs. The owners are very thoughtful and leave little gifts to make you and your dogs feel welcome. Parking is on the street but we didn't have any problem finding a parking spot close to the house. Portland is a lovely place to visit and there are many walks to enjoy. I would recommend a visit to the Jailhouse cafe which has fabulous views and excellent food, very reasonably priced.

Clean and well stocked.

3 day stay at this property in a nice part of Portland. The property had everything to make it feel like home. The owners kindly left some goodies for the adults, the kids and even our puppy on our arrival. Very comfortable and convenient for shops. A nice little park across the road. Would recommend to a friend, and would consider again a return stay.
