House on River Medina, Nr. Newport, Isle of Wight, England - Peaceful Location Overlooking Nature Reserve

A modern townhouse constructed in 2010 on a small development. One of only forty eight homes that were built entirely on water. This enables the house to have the most incredible water views from any window or balcony. It has the unique capability to combine both the peace and quiet, of the countryside, with the convenience of shops and transport, being within a 10 minute drive to both Cowes and Newport.

About Karen O'Hara

Both my partner and I live in Southampton and have two cats, whom we adore. I work as a teacher in a local primary school, but enjoy holidaying on the Isle of Wight. Our neighbours here are friendly and helpful and they have made us feel very welcome in our holiday home.

Why Karen O'Hara chose Isle of Wight

We have always visited the Isle of Wight and enjoyed many holidays there. On one of our visits we stumbled across the marina development and were impressed at the variety of properties on the sight. As soon as we saw that one was for sale, that was it and very soon it was ours. We are always amazed that a ferry journey and a 15 minute drive can transport us to such a peaceful and restful place, that is still within a short drive to every convenience that we might need.

What makes this house unique

The property is built on a mill pond and has it's own 10 metre mooring. The marina has a chandlery and bar/restaurant which serves reasonably priced food all day. There are many visitor attractions that can be reached by car or public transport, including Osborne House, Blackgang Chine and Alum bay. Cycling and walking routes are clearly signposted.

Booking Notes:
Bookings for the house or mooring will be taken on receipt of a completed booking form and 25% deposit. The remaining money must be paid 8 weeks before the date the booking will commence. Conformation and final details will then be sent.

Changeover Day:
Changeover day is flexible and weekly stays can either be a Friday or Saturday changeover depending on availability.

Notes on prices:
The weekly or short stay availability is listed by date. However some the number of nights can be flexible to suit your requirements.

Owner's Cancellation Policy

  • 50% refund for cancellations more than 7 days before check-in date.
  • 100% refund for cancellations more than 14 days before check-in date.

Notes on accommodation: Please note the property is on a marina and therefore children must be supervised at all times. No Smoking at the property and no pets. Outside: Outside there is a shared barbecue area a short walk from the house. As the house is built on a marina then it does not have a garden but benefits from two large balconies with patio furniture. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: All towels and linen are included and the property is cleaned and towels and linen changed after every visitor leaves.
