Rural Farmhouse with large enclosed garden with uninterrupted views over open countryside. Renovated to a high standard. This is not a gite it is a real home from home. Situated in rural central Brittany ideal for walking, cycling, swimming, horse riding, fishing. Less than an hours drive to North, West and South coastlines. Close to the Forest of Quenecan set alongside the Nantes to Brest Canal, Lac de Guerledan and the Abbaye de Bon Repos with it's beautiful riverside setting. River, canal and lake fishing available just 5 minutes drive.

About Maxine Simpson

We have a true passion for wildlife and have planted many hedgerows and wild flowers to provide food and cover in the garden and on the surrounding land.

We have experienced, in the past, expensive yet low grade holiday accommodation which has ruined our holidays and so have strived to ensure that guests will not be dissappointed with our home. We want everyone to enjoy the house and gardens and we will be happy to help you in any way to ensure you have a fabulous holiday.

A Pet sitting service is available on request.

We can email an information pack and a list of places of interest within driving distance.

We bought the property because we were blown away by the views and the central location giving us easy access to so many places of interest to visit and the close proximity to the Lac de Guerledan and the Nantes/Brest Canal.

A great holiday rental property

A well renovated property,finished to a high standard,it was a real home from home situated in a good location with a large garden.the property was clean and had all the amenities required for a comfortable stay.its central location made it a good base to explore the rest of Brittany.The nearby Abbey,canal and lake were all great places to visit and relax.The owners Dean and Maxine made us feel welcome and I would be happy to recommend this property to others

Home from home

Maxine and Dean's farmhouse is just like home from home. It has been beautifully restored and has everything you need for your holiday. There are lots of places to visit within an hours drive and we went out sight seeing every day. Our favourites were Dinan, Lac de Guerlédan ( we were lucky enough to be there whilst it had been drained) and the Pink Graphite coast. The farmhouse is a perfect base to return to and we had lots of barbecues in the lovely garden. The wildlife round here is fantastic and we saw buzzards, barn owls and bats. Maxine and Dean are wonderful hosts and can't do enough for you. A lovely relaxing holiday and highly recommended.

A fantastic farmhouse

Recently renovated to a very high standard. Home from home. This farmhouse is very well equipped and clean. It is situated in a lovely quiet location. The property has a lovely big garden with lots of wildlife around. Looking out onto fields all around. We saw an owl and a deer on our evening walks. You cannot fail to relax here. There is wifi in the house and Sky TV, so if you do need to catch up with emails or would like to watch English TV, it's all at your fingertips.

The best bakers are in Plouguernevel, 5 mins drive and a supermarket in Rostrenen 10 mins drive. We had lots of bbq's and ate in a local restaurant one night and had a takeaway pizza, which we can definitely recommend. There is lots of information in the farmhouse of where to visit. The best beach on the north coast is les Rosaires a 45 minute drive. There are also various lakes nearby and the Nantes Brest canal. All well worth a visit.

Dean and Maxine are very welcoming, a lovely couple who will help with anything. Lots of good food, wine and weather. Perfect for a relaxing holiday and would certainly recommend this farmhouse. We will definitely return as a family (2 teenagers) or as a couple.
