»Chalet Alpine«, fitted with high speed WiFi and satellite television, is positioned between the two main lifts of Zell em See, giving access to its extensive ski area. The main bus station is at the bottom of Schmittenstrasse and public buses will take you to the renowned ski areas of Kaprun or Sallbach/Hinterglem in 20 minutes. Taxis home after good après will cost approx 30 euros, if you can't be bothered to use public transport.

Apartment B has an open plan kitchen/living room area with a flat screen TV and SKY satellite. In 2014 a new kitchen with new appliances was installed. The apartment has two bedrooms. One has a double bed and a bunk bed. The attic has four single beds. One bathroom has a bath tub whereas the attic is fitted with a shower. On each floor there is a separate WC. The apartment facilities include TV, DVD and wi-fi as well as a washer/dryer.

Gerdi acts as property manager for Chalet Alpine representing us, the owners: Susan and my husband. We are enthusiastic lovers of the Austrian Alps and spent as much time as our busy lives with two young children allow in Zell am See. We live in Kent in the UK.

As property manager, Gerdi, can answer most if not all of your questions regarding your stay in Chalet Alpine and Zell am See. She is fluent in English, German and Dutch.

Den ferie bolig vi sku have var dobbelt booket da vi kom der ned, så det var en meget træls på en ferie, da vi sku til at have vores aftensmad kom der nogen som også havde booket huset.

Da de fandt en anden lejelighed var de os med færreste personer som skulle flyttet, så vi skulle lige pakke det hele sammen igen for at køre 15 km udenfor byen.

Det vil sige at vi havde 15 km til skipisten, hvor vi før skulle bo lige op og ned af den.

Det kan godt være de betalt alle transport udgifter imellem pisten, og huset. Men det var stadigvæk træls.

For years we dreamed of owning a property in the Alps. Although France and Switzerland were briefly considered, we decided on Austria because of it's innate friendliness and it's natural beauty. After an extensive search wefell in love with »Chalet Alpine« in Zell am See because of it's unique character and possibilities. Situated in a quiet area of Zell am See it nevertheless offers quick access to Winter skiing and Summer hiking as well as the lovely city center and it's many bars and restaurants. Within easy driving distance of Kaprun, Salzburg and much more.

Transfers from Munich - 150 mins by car.

All of the airports have good hire car facilities and routes from the airports are both well sign-posted and very scenic.

Further Details:

The house is situated on a quiet mountain slope, not far from the centre of Zell am See. The region is great as a year-round holiday destination, providing access to excellent ski areas in Winter on nearby slopes (plus year-round glacier skiing) and a multitude of outdoor activities in Summer, including trekking, walking, climbing, cycling, para-gliding, golf, swimming and fresh water fishing.

For the less energetic, there are lovely walks everywhere and the nearby Tauern Spa (in Kaprun) provides its visitors an opportunity to use the many swimming pools, saunas and restaurants.


Only a 75 min drive from the beautiful city of Salzburg makes a day trip there almost a must. Visit the beautiful Hohe Salzburg castle, one of the many beautiful churches, Mozarts place of birth or sing your own version of 'Do-Re-Mi' when visiting the Mirabel Gardens where (part of) »The Sound of Music« was filmed.

For other day trips, consider Kitzbühel (pretty alpine town, with good shopping and cable cars up to the Hahnenkamm and Kitzbuheler Horn), the Krimml Waterfalls, the Seisenbergklamm (gorge) in Weißbach bei Lofer and the Grossglockner.

Payment can be made direct to our Austrian bank account in Euros. The security deposit will be returned within two weeks after your departure when the property has been checked by our local agent.

Changeover Day:
Preferred changeover day is Saturday, but other days will be considered. Please contact us to enquire.

Guests are free to enter their apartment after 4.30 PM. On the day of departure guests are expected to have vacated the property no later then 9.30 AM.

Notes on prices:
A refundable security deposit of €150 (apartm. A) or €300 (apartm. B) is required prior to arrival, pending final inspection on departure.

Additional costs: € 85 final cleaning apartment A - € 130 final cleaning apartment B - Bed linen/towels: € 12.50 per person/set - Local tax: 1.20 EUR per day/person over 15 years - parking € 15 per car per week

The property is situated between two major skilifts of Zell am See and only a 9 minute walk away from the city centre. This affords you the advantage of being close to a skiing area without suffering the noise of late-night après-ski associated with some ski resorts. The Chalet, however, is not just a Winter getaway. The area offers much more than skiing. There is lots to discover and much to do. The walking and mountain biking possibilities alone can keep you occupied for years to come. And those are just two of the outdoor activities that are on offer. I love our Chalet, Zell am See and Austria. I hope you will too!
