Bedford House Apt. 3 in Torquay, South Devon, England - Ideally Located Close To The Beaches, Amenities And Delights Of Torquay

Enjoying an elevated position overlooking the Victorian villas of Torwood, this contemporary 3 bed apartment offers a charming and spacious holiday setting, close to the beaches, amenities and delights of Torquay. Situated on the first floor of the recently refurbished Edwardian Bedford House, the apartment enjoys an "on the doorstep" position from which to take in your Devon getaway or long term stay within walking distance of Torquay's town centre.

Perfectly suited for families or a group of friends, this 4* graded three bed apartment is fully-equipped with everything you could wish for in a carefree stay. Outside, the beautiful shared landscaped garden provides a wonderful excuse here in the warmer months to soak up some Devon sun, with a good book or glass of wine. An allocated parking space also features with the apartment. From the tranquil, residential enclave of Torwood, Torquay’s wide range of amenities and activities can easily be reached on the doorstep. Guests will easily be able to access the idyllic dog-friendly Meadfoot Beach and also the main family-friendly sands in the heart of Torquay. The wide range of shops, supermarkets, cafes, bars and restaurants of Torquay provide the perfect complement to any year-round stay, whilst a host of attractions are just waiting to be discovered and enjoyed! From a memorable trip to the Princess Theatre and fascinating museums, to the world-class Living Coasts, Agatha Christie Mile, art galleries and sightseeing tours; there is so much to see and do in Torquay!

Along the delightful Torquay coast, guests can enjoy a relaxed beach day at one of the many Blue Flag beaches, enjoy a walk along the South West coastal path, or take to the water with a kayak, jet-ski, sailing boat, boat trip or surf board. Horse riding, golf, tennis, cycling and day trips to beautiful National Trust and English Heritage sites also await. The South West part of Devon offers easy access to a wealth of picturesque coastal villages, the natural beauty and outdoor leisure pursuits of Dartmoor and the cosmopolitan highlights of the cathedral city of Exeter. Torquay ~ Torquay's waterfront is the focus of life in the town. Here you'll find the palm-lined promenade, seafront gardens, a lively harbour and an international marina. The Living Coasts attraction adds to the variety of the new waterfront and the illuminated bridge is a great backdrop to a relaxing evening drink. Yet within minutes of Torquay town centre there are beautiful beaches easily accessible by foot, road or sea. There is an abundance of pavement cafes, Torquay pubs, Torquay restaurants and nightlife in Torquay, good quality shops and a host of attractions to suit every interest. The English Riviera is a resort in the truest sense of the word, attracting visitors of all ages and interests throughout the year. Undergoing a water front regeneration and a number of new attractions in Torquay and accommodation schemes, Torquay has something for everyone and for all ages, at all times of the year.

Torquay has been one of the UK 's top holiday destinations since Victorian Times when the gentry promenaded, bathing huts were wheeled down to the beaches and anyone who was anyone had an attractive villa overlooking the sea. It was the Victorians who first used the English Riviera name to describe their favourite resort and their legacy remains to this day with sparkling white villas perched on the verdant hilltops, beautiful gardens around the seafront and elegant Victorian facades along the main streets. Don't be fooled by the Victorian ancestry however, Torquay is also a vibrant and forward thinking resort attracting visitors of all interests, from Art and Culture afficionados to marine enthusiasts. Torquay's famous seven hills provide the backdrop to a waterfront scene that matches anything you'll find on the French Riviera. The heart of the famous resort town of Torquay is also easily accessible, and offers a wide range of restaurants, bars and shops to enjoy, as well as the seaside town’s most popular family-friendly visitor attractions, which include Living Coasts Sea Life Centre, Torquay’s Dinosaur World and its breathtaking marina and splendid Victoriana pleasure gardens. Nearby guests can also enjoy the picturesque Cockington Country Park, the popular Paignton Zoo, the many fine Golf Clubs and the geographical wonder that is Kents Cavern. The Torquay coast also offers a wide range of sport activities to enjoy from sailing, surfing, fishing to golf, canoeing and horse riding. Several of our beaches hold coveted awards for cleanliness and water quality. Torbay is a naturally sheltered bay, creating a safe haven for ships of all shapes and sizes in stormy weather.

Occasional easterly winds create our own winter storms however and this is when beachcombers make their best finds. Keep an eye on the Torquay weather page. Stretching from the South side of Brixham to Maidencombe, the coast path around the Bay offers excellent and varied walking, with circular walks or point-to-point, with spectacular sea views and an exotic range of flora and fauna. Torquay is a place to relax, to soak up the atmosphere, to take in the scenery, in Torquay parks and gardens to enjoy the experience of a Torquay holiday in a classical English seaside resort, at all times of the year.

The apartment was clean and well furnished. We received a lovely warm welcome from the owner and he even bought bowls and towels for our 3 dogs. I would not hesitate to recommend to friends. Thank you for a lovely stay.
