Waterfront 2-Bed Apartment in Villaricos, Almeria Andalucia, Spain

This beautiful two bedroom apartment is on the ground floor overlooking stunning landscape garden areas and jacuzzi. There are three additional courtyards to enjoy, one with fountains, one with shelter BBQ area and the other with a swimming pool. The property is tastefully decorated to a typical Spanish atmosphere.

There are a variety of beaches within 2 minutes walking distance. Two sandy beaches with beach bar/restaurant, children's play area and sunbed hire are 400 meters walk along the promenade. Numerous uncrowded beaches and coves can be found minutes from the complex.

We are from Ireland and love to spend our free time in Spain where we found this amazing village.

We like to travel and meet new people. We have lived in various places including Europe, the US and Australia.

I work as an engineer and like to travel as part of my work.

In our free time we enjoy hiking, skiing and enjoying the sun and peace of Villaricos.

Why Ray W chose Mojacar area

We first visited Villaricos in 2012 and had an amazing time with the waterfront, restaurants and pace of life. The beaches are amazing and the coastline is stunning for cycling, driving or just a peaceful walk.

Its a very safe also which was important to us as we have a young daughter who loves to run around.

I travel a lot through work so I love to escape to the peace and beauty of Villaricos. I usually spend my morning either fishing at the beach or driving the stunning coastline and stopping for breakfast at one of the local towns. The town has plenty to offer with great inexpensive restaurants and great bars where plenty of locals and expats gather and are very welcoming.

What makes this apartment unique

The apartment is part of a gated closed complex with numerous gated courtyards, swimming pool and Jacuzzi so you can feel safe and secure at all times.

The complex is built in Spanish style and to an very high standard. Situated directly in front of the marina and within 1 minute walk of town square with numerous bars and restaurants.

You can visit the local towns such as Garrucha, Mojacar and Vera within 10 mins drive. Fastastic coastline everywhere with amazing scenery for photography. Fishing beach 30 seconds from the complex lets you relax in peace with the sun on your back. There is a local diving school and fishing trips are available.

The apartment overlooks landscaped gardens to breakfast in peace in the shaded and private elevated balcony until ready to take on the pool and local beaches or attractions.

Desert Springs golf course is 15 minutes drive and you will also find another three courses within easy reach.

The village adorns the waterfront, while towards the south within 10 minutes are found numerous spots for shopping, nightlife and lively entertainment – towards the north lies an idyllic coastline enclosed by the mountains on one side and the Mediterranean on the other. Miles of uninterrupted peace can be found.

Water Interest Diving is also popular and the village has two diving centres that can arrange trips and courses. Fishing trips can also be easily arranged in the village. Fishing gear (excluding reel) provided free of charge to visitors with apartment.

Apart from the complex swimming poll/Jacuzzi and picnic areas, there are local playgrounds within easy walking distance of the complex. The Vera Aquapark is always the most popualar local attraction. Visit website at: http://www.aquavera.com

A short 15 minute drive and you will find are the towns of Cuevas, Garrucha and Mojacar. Casinos, nightclubs and lively bars are easily found in the summer season and are open all night.

January at Villaricos

My wife and I spent 3 weeks enjoying some winter sun, golf, sightseeing and meeting friends and relatives. We found the accommodation a perfect size for us, a double bedroom, twin bedroom, bathroom with shower & bath, alley kitchen and ample sized lounge/diner. Externally and nice sized terrace to sit and enjoy the morning sun while having alfresco breakfast. The apartment is secure and within gated, locked and well landscaped courtyards, the secure parking is also an added benefit.

We found the location at the Northern end of the village ideal for a short walk into the village and directly opposite the small harbour, also great location to commence our walk along the sea promenade from the harbour all the way to the quaint little marina at the other end of the village.

Also, to be away from the hustle and bustle of the larger resorts of Garrucha and Mojacar, though within easy distance to visit for the day. Also within easy reach, just over an hour away is Puerto Mazarron along a lovely drive on the scenic coastal route towards Aguilas, through San Juan Torreros using, as I recall, the RM332 all the way.

We played golf at four different courses within easy reach, good quality though not easy courses to score well. These courses were, Desert springs, Lorca, Aguilon & Marina.

Well worth a visit, the village really comes to life on Sundays, the market day, when the village becomes packed full of visitors, locals etc. and all the bars & restaurants open their doors.

We will be revisiting as soon as we can.

Amazing Complex with Pool and Apartment was Lovely

Just wanted a few days away somewhere warm to get some time out to study and complete a research paper. Large apartment balcony overlooked lovely gardens and ornamental pool so perfect place to concentrate. Complex was right in front of marina and beach with lots of restaurants and bars a few hundred meters away for the evening and breakfast. Really loved it, and having the pool (although a bit cold in January) was nice to have the option. Apartment was spotless and lots of storage etc. Really nice, would highly recommend.

Little piece of heaven

A little jewel in a beautiful resort!!

Just spent a wonderful week in Ray's apartment. Feel very lucky to have found the perfect accommodation in a perfect resort. Ray seems a very genuine guy and responded to all my emails promptly with plenty of info about the booking.

The setting of the apartments is very secure and quiet each having its own area and not really overlooked. The jacuzzi just off our balcony gave it a special touch.

The apartment is very well appointed with everything u could need and even satellite tv. The use of beach chairs and umbrella also a nice touch. There's a well stocked folder with plenty of info plus board games and good selection of books.

Villaricos has 3 beaches and 2 marinas plus lots of little bars and some nice restaurants. We liked Goah on the main road and El Faro which is opposite Harbour Lights. We also spent a few nice evenings with Dave in the English Bar La Plaza which doesn't look much from outside but menu and drinks very good and good value.

We liked the beach up by the the Fort best for sand and safe swimming.

We also travelled up into Murcia and found some nice beaches beyond San Juan. Our favourite was La Carolinas.

We will definitely be returning.

Wonderful apartment in a wonderful setting

This is my second visit to Harbour Lights . At Harbour Lights, there are 4 courtyards, this time we stayed in the best courtyard, the apartment over looked beautiful gardens. We will definitately stay again. On arrival, we were shown to the apartment, it had been cleaned to an inch of its life! Villaricos, is a lovely, very relaxing village, with plenty of tapas restaurants - we didn't have a bad meal in the 2 weeks we stayed.

Enjoyable stay

Having stayed in a number of places in the village this is definitely one of the nicer, set in the Harbour Lights complex, which is right opposite the harbour. It's an ideal location for exploring the area. It's very relaxing and has a pool area for the warmer months. The apartment itself has everything you would need and a really nice touch was the Sky TV.
