Shops, pubs and restaurants are all within walking distance, as is the beach and the Pembrokeshire coastal path. Nestled between the Preseli mountains and the coast, Newport provides the perfect base for exploring all that Pembrokeshire has to offer. The house is a stone built, semi detached house with a private enclosed garden. The house is centrally heated and comfortably sleeps 10 people.

Notes on accommodation: Parking is available in the car park opposite. Free in low season,chargeable April-October- fees vary, please check the signs in the car park. Please note no pets are allowed. Outside: There is a large garden with seating area and garden table and chairs. 3 large outdoor bean bags are provided. There are established plants in a well planted border and a large lawn with a washing line. Utility Room: The utility room houses a larder style fridge, a large freezer, microwave, washing machine, a belfast sink and plenty of cupboard space. The utility room leads to the downstairs toilet and a boot room which has ample storage space. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Linen is included, please bring your own towels. Ty Clyd is cleaned prior to arrival, and on departure. Tea towels and hand towels are provided. Other: There is an unfurnished chalet in the garden (formerly an artist’s studio) with a small bathroom, kitchenette, bedroom and living area. A perfect play house for children.

We all loved it

Well, put it this way we would book it again, celebrated my 65th in the land of my father's, with close family, loved it. Our stay was too short there so many places to visit, the house is warm in personality as is the owner, it will be a good choice of place to stay.

New Year Break

The house is well positioned and comfortably furnished. It provided fantastic accommodation for our group of seven adults and three children. Within the village there are numerous pubs and restaurants which provide good quality food all reasonably priced. The coastal path is within walking distance and we had a few early morning walks before breakfast. The owner Naomi was available by email and mobile to answer any queries that we had.Highly recommended holiday accommodation.

As soon as we walked in , "Ty Clyd" was "home from home" Very well presented, well furnished and very comfortable. A great place to relax , treat as your own and we found Newport a wonderful place to explore Pembrokeshire from . Hope to return.

We fell in love with Wales!!!

Gorgeous, spacious, charming, and convenient. Ty Clyd.

Our family of 5 spent 3 weeks this past summer on a trip of a lifetime and the highlight was our 5 days in Newport Pembrokeshire at Ty Clyd. The town is quaint, scenic, friendly, and earthy and Ty Clyd is in the heart of it all. A short walk to fantastic dining, pubs, a local butcher and baker, apothecary, post office, and more. Newport Harbor is a leisurely stroll down the hill. And breathtaking coastal cliff walks nearby as well.

The house - comfortable beds, fully equipped kitchen with both modern appliances and a wood stove. Large plank wood floors, large wooden dining table, spacious bedrooms, auxiliary pantry and washroom, sitting rooms, sooo many bedrooms. I'm sure I'm leaving out other wonderful qualities and amenities, but I will say that, perhaps unfortunately, the bar is now set high for what we hope for in a vacation home - thanks to Ty Clyd.

And the gardens out back with the cute little functional chalet. We love Ty

Clyd. We are already planning a trip back in two years and Ty Clyd is a must stop for us. Thank you Naomi!!!

Out of this world!

We stayed at Ty Clyd as a family to celebrate our mother's 70th birthday. I fell in love with the house from the moment I saw the photos on the website! We couldn't have asked for anything more. It was just perfect! My little boy and his cousins loved the chalet in the garden (so did the bigger boys too!). Everything is thought of in this house and I can not think of any suggestions to improve it. The accommodation is outstanding and there was so much room in the house, it was perfect for the whole family to stay. We all loved the house and did not want to leave! All the children are asking when we can go back again. The house has so much character and we all have such lovely memories of a very special weekend here. Thank you, Naomi, for letting us borrow your incredible house.

Characterful House in Newport

Ty Clyd is a lovely house in Newport, very comfortable, great decoration and lots of equipment to make life easy. The description of the house is accurate and the location is really good. It was easy to get everywhere we wanted to go and the local shops were really useful. The house was clean, warm and has obviously been well-maintained. We loved the Welsh blankets and throws. Naomi was very easy to contact and always replied promptly. I would highly recommend this house and if we come back to Pembrokeshire we will try and stay here.

Coast/Beach:

Ty Clyd is a 5 minute walk from the coastal path and a 15 minute walk to the Parrog which has a beach, sailing club and restaurant. Newport beach is 30 mins by foot or 10 mins by car. There are numerous other beaches accessible by bus or car dotted along the Pembrokeshire coast.

Travel:

The nearest train station is Fishguard which is a 20 minute drive away. Fishguard also has a ferry terminal.

In summer, the Pembrokeshire Coast is served by a network of hail and ride bus services, known as the Poppit Rocket, the Puffin Shuttle and the Strumble Shuttle, running along the coast between Newport, Fishguard and St David's.

Distances:

The Preseli hills, Strumble Head, the beaches around Cardigan and the cathedral city of St David’s are all nearby. Fishguard and Cardigan are a 20 minute drive, while St David's is a 40 minute drive.

Further Details:

Newport has a bank, chemist, butcher, baker, clothes and gift shops as well as several excellent cafes, restaurants and pubs. It also has some lovely arts and crafts shops/galleries.

Nearby are the Workshop Wales Gallery and West Wales Arts Centre.

Newport is an ideal base for those with interest in the outdoors eg Kayaking, Coasteering, Bird watching, Cycling, Walking, Golf, Fishing, Horse riding, Rock climbing, Sailing and Watersports including Surfing, Windsurfing and Kitesurfing
