About the property

Great location for Golf Fishing Bird Watching Close Bordeaux Libourne Medoc - Enviable Location, Medieval History, Vineyards, Wine, Restaurants, Markets, Beach/Arcachon

Ideally situated just 15 minutes drive from the UNESCO World Heritage Medieval town of Saint Emilion, situated on the heights of the Entre Deux Mers this lovely house is set in a beautiful woodland garden.

A bright comfortable and contemporary interior with ample space throughout.

The house was restored with care and attention to detail in 2009 and now offers very comfortable accommodation for our guests. The high quality air conditioning being a particular asset during those hot summer nights. There is an inviting swimming pool which is heated between May to September.

A lovely covered terrace on which to enjoy those alfresco meals, perhaps complimented by a bottle of the local Vin de Bordeaux!

The house is perfectly situated for exploring the area and visiting the many local attractions, fishing or kayaking on the Dordogne river, hot air ballooning, local day and night markets and countless vineyards.

The house is not too far from the coast either. Arcachon and Pyla sur Mer about 1.5 hours drive, an ideal opportunity for a day by the sea with perhaps a nice seafood lunch enjoyed overlooking the ocean.

The whole area is steeped in history, the Bordeaux, Bergerac, Medoc and Saint Emilion wines are world famous. Chateau Bonhoste is within walking distance from the house, a tour of the vines followed by a tasting session will be a memorable experience. There is also a Bar within walking distance too.

The owners reside on site ensuring guests peace of mind that everything will be perfect.

A well equipped, air conditioned Gite with pool.

  • 5 of 5

A warm welcome was provided by David and Julie and we were introduced to the air conditioned, well equipped Gite. Spacious and well furnished, very comfortable beds and good sized bedrooms. Efficient showers and kitchen appliances. A lovely terrace to sit in sun or shade. The pool area is beautiful, with plenty of chairs and recliners, serviced and cleaned each day, a very relaxing and beautiful area to relax in. You may be lucky enough as we were to see a red squirrel in the garden or pick a fig! A good walk to the village can provide fresh bread each morning, but enough supermarkets are a very short drive away for all food and drink needs and choices. The Dordogne is nearby, with villages alongside and boat trips available. Beautiful countryside all around and a journey through the vineyards to Saint Emillion was memorable. The region is steeped in history and with a good climate you do not tire of places to visit ; equally the Gite is a very comfortable place to unwind, it was a wonderful stay.

Great Gite for a family holiday

  • 5 of 5

We have just returned home after spending 2 weeks at this perfect Gite. The house is very spacious, finished to a high standard and equipped with all you could possibly need. The pool is fantastic, very well maintained and private. Plenty of supermarkets nearby and St.Emilion is a short drive. We enjoyed a number of the cycle paths in the area including the Roger Lapebie route and the Canal de Gironne. David and Julie were excellent hosts, never intruding on our family holiday but always available. The fruit, milk, bread, cheese and wine were very welcome after a long drive. Thank you.

We hope to come back soon

Lovely location and accommodation

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I and our two daughters (11 & 9) spent a thoroughly enjoyable week here in July 2016. Julie and David were friendly, warm and welcoming and the gite beautifully presented and well maintained. After a long day's driving and a late arrival, the welcome pack containing essentials such as bread, butter, milk, much fruit (and a bottle of wine!) were a lovely touch. The air conditioning in the bedrooms a real bonus, the wifi good and so too the swimming pool. The location was easy to reach, yet secluded, peaceful, private and quiet. The beautiful St Emilion a stones throw away and local shops and facilities within easy reach. We'd certainly go back!
