A large, spacious, modern, high-spec, four-bedroom apartment. White-walled, oak-floored, high-ceilinged, picture-windowed, with spectacular south-facing views of Mount's Bay — one of the world's largest natural bays. On the second floor above an art gallery and studios, the apartment has four bedrooms, well equipped kitchen, larder, laundry, TV room, games room with pool and table tennis, one ensuite shower room, one wet room shower room and one bathroom with large bath, double basins and separate shower. The heating is underfloor. The apartment is very large, very light and has high ceilings.

About Petra Elkan

I've loved it here for 25 years - I like getting outdoors to walk, cycle or paint. The area draws lots of interesting, friendly people, many of whom I've met through my work in architecture and interior design.

Why Petra Elkan chose South West Cornwall

West Cornwall is the most southerly and westerly part of the British Isles, surrounded on three sides by wild and beautiful coastline. The maritime climate means it rarely snows or gets too hot in the summer. Lush valleys, crystal clear turquoise sea and white sand beaches, dramatic cliffs and wild heathland.

I was first introduced to the building when it was still an exchange, full of clicking relays. My architecture firm converted part of it into what is now the white rooms and the London owners became friends. Now I co-host it with them. They love it for the sheer space, light and the convenience of being right in the centre of town but close the beaches, shops and station. It is secure, with a parking space, and easy to get to for elderly parents.

Bright, light and airy. Sun-blessed from dawn to dusk. Watch the sun rise over St Michael's Mount as you eat breakfast. Watch it set over Penzance's Georgian old town while playing pool or table tennis. Centrally located yet quiet and secluded from the bustle of the town. Accessible for all ages and fitness levels. Whatever the weather outside, days inside are warm, dry and bright. Space and room enough for everyone to both spend time together and enjoy the privacy to do their own thing. Four bedrooms. Three bathrooms. Games room. Separate TV space.

We had a terrific stay in this property. The open plan kitchen/dinning/sitting room has enormous windows with views of Penzance rooftops and out to sea. Morning coffee can be consumed whilst taking in the sensational views and insight gathered as to what the weather is saying so you can plan your day. The design has been very carefully and stylishly thought out. There is a wet room positioned by the front door for hosing down after trips to the beach, very handy with children! On rainy days there is a games room and enough space to curl up with a book in a deck chair looking out to sea without being disturbed. It is ideally located- close to the shops, the beach and our favourite lido. Highly recommend.

Wow!! Views were amazing!!

We booked this apartment to celebrate my mothers 75th birthday with all the family. We were all blown away with the apartment!

The views across to st Michaels mount amazing and it was HUGE!! We had plenty of space and my little boy had hours of fun with the dolls house and little girl with the rocking horse.

The kitchen was well equipped and we all had a fab time in the mornings and evening sitting round the large dining table.

Petra was lovely and made us feel very welcome, amazing holiday and made my mothers 75th a memorable one!!

We had a fantastic stay, Great Location

The pictures do not do this apartment justice. It is huge and ideal for large families or groups. There was seven of us staying and we felt there was plenty of room for all of us. Each bedroom was spacious, the living area is huge, and the kitchen / larder was well equipped. I loved the games room, despite my rubbish skills at snooker!

The apartment has beautiful sea views and is just a stones throw away from shops and some excellent restaurants. Our host Petra was lovely and gave us lots of tips on what to see while in Penzance, and even went out of her way to suggest places we could go for my mothers 60th birthday. We loved our time exploring Cornwall and cannot wait to go back.

Incredible stay!

My friends and I recently stayed at this seaside loft during the bank holiday weekend. We had such a lovely time. Petra was incredibly helpful and the flat was impeccably clean and stocked. While we expected the flat to be large (having seen the photos) we were stunned with how spacious it was. It's location is also very central. We easily got around the Cornwall area using the loft as our home base. I would definitely recommend staying at this flat. In fact, I'm looking forward to booking again soon!
