About Ruth and Richard

With our children we have used Owner's Direct website over many years for our family holiday accommodation. Having stayed in some lovely apartments and small villas within Europe we decided to take the plunge and found our own beautiful modest apartment in one of the most idyllic Pueblo Blancos in Spain. Visiting Mijas Pueblo we were struck by its timeless beauty, stunning views over the Mediterranean sea, proximity to Malaga airport, tranquility, and most importantly, amazing all year round climate. We have tried to make our apartment a clean, relaxing, warm and inviting place to stay for people who, like us, are looking for somewhere to recharge their batteries and un-wind; we hope that you, like us, enjoy the wonderful sense of calm and beauty here when you come to stay.

Why Ruth and Richard chose Mijas area

Mijas Pueblo nestles in the hills above and away from the hustle and bustle of the busy Costa del Sol resorts of Marbella and Fuengirola, and yet the coast is accessible either by private car or public bus within a few short miles. The uninterrupted views over the Mediterranean sea are breathtaking; on a clear day it is possible to see Morocco in the distance. At night the lights down on the coast shine magically. During the day the beautiful cobbled streets of Mijas Pueblo offer a wide range of open air coffee stops, restaurants, tranquil gardens, plazas, and shops to browse away the hours. There is a genuine Spanish Bullring, traditional donkey taxis and carriage rides, as well as one of the finest ice-cream parlours in the whole of Spain! Walking and cycling in the hills above for the adventurous, or a frequent bus service to the coast for the beach lovers and shoppers alike.

What makes this apartment unique

Our modest but perfectly proportioned apartment is in a small, private, gated community. The real benefit of this apartment lies in its location - within walking distance of the stunning hillside village of Mijas Pueblo, yet secluded away just on the outskirts on the village, overlooking the Mediterranean sea with amazing views from the balcony terrace. Within the private community is a shared swimming pool with a sun-lounging terrace which also overlooks the coast down below (open May to early October). The apartment has a dedicated car parking space within the gated area. Within 200 yards is a bus stop with a service down to Fuengirola operates every half hour or so.

A cot is available to hire. Contact us with your requirement at the time of enquiry or booking. The apartment is on the first floor of a private complex building, with a balcony terrace. Small inquisitive children at an age when they climb and have no sense of danger must be supervised at all times on the balcony. Steep driveway access may be challenging for some. Outside: Small private balcony terrace with cast-iron table and four chairs. Shared swimming pool within the private community, open mid March to early October, with sun-lounging area and picnic bench and table with amazing views over the Mediterranean. Children under the age of 12 years old must be supervised at all times in the swimming pool area. Two full length sun-loungers with cushions are provided for use on the balcony or by the swimming pool. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Bath and hand towels for every guest are provided, as are beach/swimming pool towels. Clean bed linen and towels every week.

This is a lovely property in a lovely locatiion within reach of the pretty town of Mijas

A lovely location in the pretty town of Mijas. The apartment is within walkable distance of the main square with it's sights and eateries. The views of the coast are also wonderful from the apartment and the facilities are perfect for a couple or small family. The complex has a nice small pool and there are some nice walks nearby (see tourist information).

The beaches on the coast require a drive or bus trip but are still available (we found some with convenient car parks). The apartment driveway is a little unnerving to drive down to at first (it is very steep) , but we got used to it. Overall we very much enjoyed our stay and would thoroughly recommend the property, thank you

The location was perfect! A very short walk from the village centre, meant that the apartment was peaceful and tranquil whilst supporting fabulous views up to the mountains and down to the coast. The apartment was modern, clean, tidy and well presented. . The pool was 20 steps from the front door with Comfy sun loungers. The only consideration is that there is a very short steep walk to exit the complex so not for the faint hearted! But ok. We stayed for a week with out a car and didn't leave the village. We could have caught the bus to the coast for 1.50 euros had we felt inclind. The restaurants have really upped their game since my last visit 3 years ago, we had great food every night. We didn't have a car and found he taxi's from the square very reasonable priced .. Approximately 45 euro to the airport at the weekend and 38 euros on a weekday.

The apartment also has the petrol garage within 5 mins walk which stock pretty much anything you need, coffee, milk, alcohol, water fresh bread and fruit and seemed to be open 24 hour....

We wouldn't hesitate to go back!!

Super apartment

We had a great time here; The apartment is very light and airy, lovely furniture and is spotless. The main bedroom is large and the second bedroom a good size. The kitchen is well equipped, lots of teatowels! We loved eating on the balcony, and having a wine of course, overlooking the beautiful view. The swimming pool is a good size and was also well maintained. Accessing the car park was steep but there's a lift for passengers. We love Mijas,having been several times, and would certainly stay in Ruth and Richard's apartment again.

Lovely stay :)

My partner and I stayed in this apartment just a couple of weeks ago (July 2016) and I have to say it was super lovely and I have nothing bad to say about it! It is situated perfectly-just on the edge of town and literally a 5/10 min walk (depending on where you want to go) and just on the roundabout is a BP garage where you can start your holiday off with the bare essentials-they have everything! I'd recommend going here first of all as the prices are reasonable and watch out for the opening times of the supermarkets in town-we always seemed to go there when they were closed! The apartment is very modern with some really nice touches and its obvious this has been thought about throughout the property. It was an absolute pleasure to stay in-bright and airy, plenty of room (didn't use the spare bedroom) and the balcony gets the sun directly in the morning until around 3ish....which is nice. Its a big balcony plenty of space even to sun bathe if you wanted as they have provided sun loungers...and also some other sun loungers/fold ups are provided to take down to the pool which is fab! The pool has a nice area to sit in and overlooks the lovely view-as does the balcony at the apartment. Richard and Ruth have provided a lovely folder with all the info on the apartment and area so that's located within the apartment and very helpful. Also there is a guest book. So in terms of places to see and visit, you can take a look in either of those or some leaflets located within the apartment. But Mijas itself is beautiful-its around my 4th visit now. Altogether a very enjoyable holiday-thank you Ruth & Richard for providing us with everything we needed for the week! :) Emma & James xx

Review Mijas Heights Apartment

Property is ideally located on outskirts of village. Complex is well maintained, with a lovely peaceful pool with great views.

Views from apartment are amazing. Apartment is clean and tidy with great amenities and is very quiet in the evenings. We would recommend this apartment, and would definitely return. The only downside is we only had 1 set of keys, and with a 17 year old daughter we felt that 2 sets of keys would have been necessary. This is the first apartment we have stayed in with only 1 set of keys.

Mijas village is a tranquil beautiful place, but would not be suited to people with walking difficulties. All restaurants were amazing, food was excellent, and some lovely individual boutiques. Bus service is regular for those who do not wish to drive.
