Sunny Ridge, large apartment set over 2 floors in Thurlestone, South Devon. - Stunning Views In Quiet Location With Views Down Over Village And Out To Sea

Sunny Ridge is a spacious maisonette occupying the first and second floors of a detached 1920s house in a quiet lane in Thurlestone. Benefitting from ample parking and superb views down over the village to the championship golf course, Bolt Tail headland and the sea, Sunny Ridge is an ideal place to relax and enjoy a well earned break.

Steps lead you to the front door of this large apartment. The front door opens on to a light and airy hallway which leads into the open plan living / dining / kitchen area which runs across the whole front of the house, with 6 windows giving the lovely views.

The kitchen is fully fitted with a 6 hob cooker, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and microwave. The dining table and chairs seat 8. There is also a highchair available. Comfortable sofas and armchairs that seat 8 are set around the fireplace in the lounge area of the room.

There are 2 bedrooms on this floor with a family bathroom and separate wc. The top floor has 2 further en suite bedrooms, one of which has been newly refurbished. Bedroom 1 has 3ft twin beds; Bedroom 2 has 3ft bunk beds: Bedroom 3 is en suite with 3ft twin beds and bedroom 4, also en suite, with a 4ft 6ins double bed. A cot is available.

Thurlestone is a well known championship, cliff top course - just 3 mins by car, 10 mins walk. Also a 9 hole Par 3 course at the 4 * Thurlestone Hotel which is open to non-residents. Bigbury Golf Club is 20-30 minutes by car, depending on the tide and Dartmouth Golf and Country Club is a 25 minute drive.

Thurlestone has 3 beaches, Leas Foot, Yarmer and Broadsands, all adjacent to the Golf course. Leas Foot is by the Club House so just 3 minutes by car or a 10 minute walk. The other 2 are only accessible by foot and also a 10 minute walk.

Bantham is a totally unspoilt large sandy beach renowned for swimming, sand castles and surfing. 5 minutes by car or a 15 minute coastal walk.

Holly 15/02/15: Thank you so much for yet another wonderful stay at lovely Sunny Ridge! We had a really fun week with lots of beach time and cosy nights in! Thank you also for the delicious cream tea that was waiting for us on arrival, it was extremely welcome and devoured very quickly by us all!! All the admin went smoothly with Rest Assured and Patsy was very efficient. As usual Sunny Ridge was the perfect place to stay, it really does feel like 'a home from home' and we feel very lucky to have been able to stay there as often as we have.

Ashcroft:We find this to be the perfect fully equipped house for a family of all ages. We started going for a week in August when our three daughters were 9, 11 and 13 and have been going every year since. Now they are young adults and they each bring a friend as the flat comfortably sleeps 8. It's clean, very well equipped for eating in, taking a bbq to the beach or a picnic lunch, everything you need is in the cupboards and there's a small garden for drying washing and wet suits and a laundry room. You can walk across the fields to Bantham Beach for surfing, walk to the excellent village shop for bread and supplies and it's a short drive to buzzing Salcombe for excellent restaurants. This year our parents will join us too, so it really caters for everyone.

Henn: We have stayed at Sunnyridge seven or eight times now in recent years, often at Easter but sometimes in the summer. We love this apartment. The owners are friendly, always helpful, but never intrusive. The views are fabulous not just from the living area but also from upstairs bedrooms. The rooms are spacious, always immaculately clean (the upstairs double bedroom a little smaller but not too small) and well sound proofed. Kitchen is well stocked with crockery, cutlery and utensils and there is plenty of space to entertain friends if they are staying nearby. This is always our first choice when visiting Thurlestone with the whole family. Our next visit is planned for August next year. Bantham has excellent family friendly beaches and with older children you can walk there. We are not so impressed with the Thurlestone beaches but Bigbury is a short drive away and also a good beach with a surf school. Lots of lovely walks - try Soar Mill Cove for a really good walk and beautiful idyllic beach but check the tides as you need to go at low tide.

Fantastic place for a relaxing break

Sunny Ridge lived up to expectations totally; it is clean, well maintained and has all the bits ad pieces we needed. Located in the sleepy village of Thurleston and ten minutes from the local hub, Kingsbridge, the maisonette has all that a family needs to make a great base from whcih to explore the many unspoilt beaches and coastal villages with many great places to eat and drink. We will definitely stay again if we can and recommend the place, it's location and Rest Assured Property Management highly.
