About the Owner

Married and both my husband and I work from home. The Hen House is in the grounds of our property.

Having bought a house that needed modernising, and wanting to live on site, my husband was adament he could convert this former uninspiring chicken shed into somewhere to live.

We loved living in the hen house and everyone was amazed at how light and spacious it was so we decided to rent it out for others to enjoy.

We have enjoyed meeting people from all walks of life; artists, actors and musicians have all enjoyed the space as well as walkers and those wishing for a peaceful retreat.

What an amazing place the Hen House is, we are so glad to have found it. You made us so welcome and straight away we felt at home.

Gorgeous conversion and really quite inspirational. I could so live here.

A lovely retreat to recharge our batteries. What lovely touches on our arrival; freshly baked bread, wine, flapjacks and flowers from the garden.

Hen's House is in a wonderful location and is really spacious. We had a lovely relaxing and peaceful holiday.

Nicki and Jonny were wonderful hosts and the little extras of homemade bread, fresh eggs and locally produced apple juice was a lovely surprise.

Relaxing comfortable rural retreat.

  • 5 of 5

We had a very nice time at The hen House. Nicki and Johnnie are very friendly hosts and the fresh bread was delicious. The Hen House is very spacious and contemporary and the setting is lovely. The accommodation is very clean and there is plenty of crockery and cooking utensils. The boys had a great time playing table tennis and a good time was had by all.

An off the beaten track hidden gem ....

  • 5 of 5

Nicki and Johnnie are wonderful hosts who ensured that our stay at the Hen House was very special. This hidden rural retreat is surrounded by stunning views in the countrylanes of Gloucestershire, providing a wonderful base from which to explore the surrounding area. The Hen House has everything you could possibly want for a very comfortable stay ... It is immaculately kept with real attention to detail and a quirky/ arty feel which gives one a sense of space, light and well-being. On arrival we were treated to homemade flapjacks and bread, plus freshly laid eggs and this set the tone for our stay as nothing was too much trouble for Nicki and Johnnie who went out of their way to make us feel completely at home. Thank you for a fabulous few days - we highly recommend the Hen House, an off the beaten track hidden gem!
