Waverley mount has the best of both worlds .Inside the cottage there is bags of space and light ,beautiful sunsets visable from the south facing balcony off the lounge. Countryside Walks from the front door over Hampsfeild Fell and Yewbarrow woods yet the town of Grange only 5 minutes walk where there is an award winning butcher, chocolatier, organic bakery and tea shop listed in the British tea guild.For walks on the flat the promenade and ornamental lake are great.Newly refurbished for 2015.

Grange-Over-Sands is a great destination for a relaxing break at any time of the year . It has a 3 mile promenade with childrens play area ,basketball court and tennis courts.

Once you've gained entry, nice decor, good location but in need of some basic maintenance.

We very nearly got back into the car to head home on our day of arrival because we did not have any access details. We had attended a wedding the previous day and stayed over night away from home. We travelled direct to Grange from our hotel and therefore had no WiFi. We had not heard from the owner of the property so we expected her to be waiting for us at the arrival time. As we waited at the property, it was obvious that she was not coming. We decided to try to get a WiFi connection from a local pub in order to contact the owner. Once we had WiFi connection an email arrived which was sent by the owner on the morning of our arrival giving access details. Why was the email sent on the day of our travel when we have no WiFi connection? It was over an hour after our arrival that we gained entry to the property. I also rang both the owner and house keepers mobile numbers given in the email but they both went to voicemail.

The property is well laid out and modern but is in need of basic maintenance and lacks a welcoming atmosphere that can be found in other properties. You cannot have a cup of tea or coffee when you arrive unless you brought it with you as nothing is provided. Other properties we have stayed in have provided tea, coffee, milk and even cake and sometimes a bottle of wine.

In the kitchen the top drawer of the freezer will not open due to a build up of ice and is also cracked. The mixer tap is very stiff and as you turn it the whole tap unit turns as well. If you need to use the washing machine you will have to bring your own powder. There are a few splits in the chair covers in the dining room.

You may bang your head on the low glass shelf in the bathroom as you try to rinse your face. There's a crack in the bathroom floor tile and some of the grout needs replacing.

Minor damage to the plaster in the bedroom. Some scuff marks on other walls and minor odd stains to the carpets.

The balcony has vegetation growing out of it and the only view is of surrounding buildings. The balcony furniture is rusting.

The front outside light isn't working.

On returning home the following Saturday, there was a recorded message from the previous Saturday from the owner saying she had just sent an email regarding access to the property and apologizing for it's lateness. Not much use if you are not at home.

Lovely Property

Clean, modern and well appointed property within easy walking distance of the shops and the promenade walk. We appreciated the accommodation even more as the weather was not the best we have had. We would certainly recommend it to others.

Great location

Great location and lovely little town with some nice gift shops & places to eat. Cartmel 10 mins drive away is so pretty. You must sample the sticky toffee pudding! We booked after having looked at some photos of the gorgeous looking beach but were disappointed to find out that you couldn't go on it due to the quick sand. The cottage was well equipped with a comfortable master bed and nice little balcony off the lounge area which caught the sun most of the day. A few little negatives for us were that there was a foosty smell throughout so we bought some scented candles to try and help. We were unable to open some of the windows as we couldn't find the keys. The bathroom upstairs had some paint peeling off the walls and some cracked, loose grouting on the floor tiles. These points prevented it being 5 stars for us.

Fantastic property in great location

Fantastic little property. Had everything our family needed. Very well looked after, lovely decor and in great location. Little balcony for sitting having a quiet drink or coffee, great wifi, very well equipped. Our first time in Grange over Sands - lovely for walks along the promenade and great activities for the kids during the day. Very quiet at night but suited us perfectly. Thank you to the owner for great communication too. Would definitely recommend.

Highly recommended beautiful house in lovely town.

I couldn't recommend this house enough. This was the first time we have stayed in the south lakes and would definitely come back again. Grange over sands is a relaxing beautiful little town that's got lovely views over the bay, wonderful walk over the promenade and pretty little cafes, shops and restaurants.

The house was spotlessly clean, it has everything you need for a vacation and is a home from home. The kitchen and bathrooms are well equipped. The house is peaceful and well layed out and the living room is a great place to relax in the evening with a glass of wine. The house is only about 400 yards from the promenade and shops. I would definitely recommend and would definitely return again!

Excellent location and facilities

We recently spent a week at Waverley Mount and found it extremely comfortable, homely and with all mod cons. Very conveniently situated for visiting all areas of southern lakeland with or without car. We ourselves would have no hesitation in recommending this property to friends and family as we intend to revisit sometime next year.
