A Real Coastal Retreat with two bedrooms, one ensuite and a family bathroom

Lyme Cottage is a former barn which has been sympathetically converted to provide luxury holiday accommodation. On the ground floor there is a spacious lounge, dining kitchen and master bedroom with en suite shower room. The first floor has a twin bedroom with separate bathroom. To the rear of the property is an enclosed lawn with views towards Alnmouth and extensive views of the sea.

The property is built in stone and has arched hemmel windows to the front. The property benefits from a private access to Killiecrankie Beach which is less than 10 minutes walk away.

Lyme Cottage is approximately 1 mile north of Warkworth and 2.7 miles south of Alnmouth with the market town of Alnwick 5 miles to the west.

Idyllic Relaxing Holiday Location

For a perfectly relaxing holiday you cannot find anywhere more suitable than Lyme Cottage and the Warkworth location, the peaceful setting of the complex close to the beautiful Northumberland coast is ideal for restful sleep and socialising in a quiet understated way with friends or family, the accommodation is beautifully decorated and equipped. All amenities you need for a self catering holiday, then the homely feel to settle either indoors or outside, we were lucky enough to do both with the gorgeous weather we had on our stay there. The walk down to the beach is a little overgrown but once you know the path it's a 10 minute stroll and you are on the unspoilt beach with options of walking to Alnmouth or Warkworth. Would definitely recommend Lyme Cottage for a peaceful relaxing holiday.

Excellent

This was a wonderful place to get away from it all and a very high quality accommodation. As it was February the weather was bitter but the accommodation was very warm. The private access to the beach was great and we walked every day. The cottage was clean and modern and very cosy. Will defiantly return. The communication with owner was quick and pleasant. All booked and paid for in an hour and great instructions given. First class.

Absolutely beautiful

Lyme Cotttage is absolutely beautiful, a terrific barn conversion completed to a very high standard. It's set in a perfect location within easy reach of so many of the stunning locations in Northumbria. The private access to the beach was also a great addition to reach the lovely beach as was the very close proximity to the cycle route. Thank you for a lovely weekend

Having lived in the North East of England when we were first married we have continued holidaying in the area since we moved away. With more time available to us we found Lyme Cottage which we think of as an idyllic coastal retreat.

Activity and Interests

Nearest Airport : Newcastle at 30 Miles Nearest Barpub : Warkworth at 1.5 Miles Nearest Golf : Warkworth at 1 Miles Nearest Train : Alnmouth at 2.5 Miles Nearest Restaurant : Warkworth at 1.5 Miles Nearest Beach : Killiecrankie at 0.5 Miles Car: recommended

Coast/Beach:

The sandy beach of Killiecrankie is accessible via a private pathway from the cottage. It can be reached in less than 10 minutes.

Alnmouth Beach is about 3 miles away by road and like Killiecrankie is one of the many popular stretches of sand that form the Northumberland coastline, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

Travel:

Newcastle Airport is approximately 30 miles south of the property.

There is a railway station at Alnmouth which is 2.5 miles from the cottage.

A number of London to Edinburgh trains stop at Alnmouth as well as local services to and from Newcastle.

There is a regular bus service between Newcastle and Berwick with stops within half a mile of the property.

Further Details:

Alnmouth and Warkworth have small village stores and a number of pubs/restaurants. Alnwick is a market town with two supermarkets, a discount store and a number of banks. It also has a Leisure Centre with swimming pool and of course Alnwick Castle and Gardens.

Notes on prices:
Short breaks are available outside peak periods on request.
As Christmas Day and New Years Day fall on a Friday in 2015 changeover day will be Tuesday 22nd and 29th.

A 30% deposit is required on booking with the balance payable 8 weeks before arrival. For late bookings we would request that the full balance is paid on booking.

  • Notes on accommodation: Ideal for a couple or small family. We are sorry but we do not accept pets. Wifi Available Outside: There is an enclosed garden to the rear which is laid to lawn. Outdoor table and benches together with a BBQ are available. The garden area provides a view of the sea, Coquet Island and the village of Alnmouth. The front of the cottage is a mix of grass and paving enclosed within a low stone wall. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: A bath and hand towel are provided for each guest. All bed linen is provided. The property is cleaned prior to every changeover. Other: There is an storage cupboard under the stairs off the lounge.
