The Barn is within walking distance from Bempton cliffs and the RSPB reserve. Ideally located to explore the Yorkshire Coast and the towns of Flamborough, Filey, Bridlington and Scarborough are all a short drive away. The Barn is suited to family groups, friends and interest groups with four unique rooms all with en-suite and it's own garden and outside dining area. The Barn has a separate kitchen that leads onto a lounge/dining area accommodating large groups in luxury and comfort.

About Kerry and Paul Fieldhouse

We now have 2 years fantastic experience of this new adventure after our move over from Leeds and are still loving it. We have updated all our properties since taking over and added some personal touches. We both love the outdoors with Kerry now working as the education officer at RSPB Bempton cliffs so she is the best person to ask for an update on the comings and goings of the birds on the cliffs.

As for myself, I am an outdoor learning specialist with a history of working as a primary school teacher, working for environmental charities and self-employed forest school leader. I have spent my time here developing the grounds for guests to enjoy and have added a meadow walk where barn owls can often be spotted hunting in our fields. My other jobs involve looking after our two boys, 1 cat, 5 chickens and large polytunnel currently used for food growing.

Why Kerry and Paul Fieldhouse chose Bempton

The Barn is a gorgeously converted granary and set of stables dating back to 1810. A fantastic cottage for families, friends and groups it sleeps 8 adults in four en suite bedrooms. There are 2 double rooms, one twin and one super-king which can be converted to a twin if preferred. One of the double bedrooms is downstairs and has a shower over a bath in the en suite. It may be suitable for guests with limited mobility. We can provide a put up bed and / or a cot for children in your chosen room.

The Barn has original exposed wooden beams and is furnished with solid wood furniture and high quality fixtures and fittings. There is a private patio with garden furniture and the kitchen is fully equipped. Whilst the large shared lounge and dining area has TV and DVD there are also flatscreen TVs in each bedroom.

What makes this cottage unique

The Barn has direct access to Bempton Cliffs, a short walk up Hoddy Cows Lane for early morning sunrises, nature walks or just an escape to view the fantastic chalk cliffs. If you are feeling even more energetic a 4 mile journey to the cliffs, a visit to the RSPB center before popping into the White Horse pub is a great walk before a well earned rest back in the comfort of The Barn.

Ideally located for Scarborough, Filey and Bridlington to enjoy beaches, cycling golf, nature tourism or just relaxing.

Fantastic Place to Stay

We have just come back from a fantastic Easter weekend at this beautiful barn. It is in a lovely village setting and on arrival there Kerry and Paul were there to greet us. There was home made cakes and a lovely postcard welcoming us. We were a party of 8 and it fitted us all no problem. It's well equipped with everything that you need. It was lovely and warm and spotlessly clean with plenty of space to move about. All the bedrooms were good sizes with lovely feather quilts, towels to use too. I would definitely recommend as a place to stay great base to explore the area.

Manor Farm Bempton

There was a group of seven of us staying in the barn last week. We all enjoyed the stay and thought that the accommodation was very clean and comfortable. It was lovely to be greeted by the home-made cakes on arrival. The only negative was that the kitchen was rather small but it didn't bother us too much. Also, we thought that it would be a good idea to have rails by the steps from the dining-room area into the kitchen as they were rather steep for one or two of our party who are not so mobile.(We are all over 70!) Otherwise we would certainly recommend this holiday home to others.

Special interest holidays:

We are ideally located for Birdwatchers as we are within walking distance of RSPB Bempton Cliffs. We have access to coastal walks via an adjacent bridleway. Cyclists can enjoy The Way of the Roses and we are close to the Tour de Yorkshire route as well as other local cycle routes. We are located in a rural location but only a few miles from Filey, Flamborough Head and Bridlington beaches and Spa.

Coast/Beach:

20 minutes walk to Bempton cliffs. 5 mins drive to the RSPB Reserve at Bempton. Flamborough beaches & cliffs are a 10 mins drive. Bridlington beaches are just 10 minutes drive. Filey beaches are a 15 minutes drive. Scarborough beaches are only a 25 min drive.

Travel:

Less than an hours drive from Hull if travelling from Europe by ship, an hour and a half drive from Leeds Bradford airport. There is a train station in the adjoining village of Bempton which links via a change in trains to York and Hull.

Distances:

20 minutes walk to Bempton cliffs. Flamborough 10 minutes drive. Bridlington 10 minutes drive. Filey 15 minutes drive.

Scarborough 25 minutes drive. York 1 hour drive.
