Renovated barn conversion on the edge of Shapwick Heath and Ham Wall nature reserves on the Somerset Levels with views towards Glastonbury Tor. The warm and spacious property has two double bedrooms of which one has an additional double sofa bed if required. The bathroom has a walk in shower. The kitchen has a fridge, dishwasher, oven, induction hob, microwave and dining table and chairs. There is a washer drier available within the property and a freezer which is accessible in an out building. The lounge links directly from the kitchen/dining area with bi-fold doors on to the patio with outdoor table and chairs with a barbecue available during the summer months. The chandeliers add character to the Mezzanine landing with its glass balustrade.There is underfloor heating throughout the property which can be controlled via a thermostat in each individual room. Wooden floors upstairs add to the character as well as flagstones on the ground floor. Free WiFi available.

The area is ideal for bird watching with numerous observational hides close by and the famous starling mumurmations during the winter months. There are numerous country walks in the surrounding area and National cycle network routes from the property. Within a 10 minute drive are the local towns of Street and Glastonbury, within this locality is Clarks Outlet Village, Strode Theatre, indoor and outdoor swimming pools and Millfield school. Glastonbury Tor, The Challice Well,Glastonbury Abbey, The Rural Life Museum, The city of Wells with its magnificent cathedral and the unique moated Bishops Palace are certainly worth a visit. Wedmore, Cheddar Gorge, Wookey Hole are also a short drive. Longleat,Stonehenge,Bath , Bristol, Exeter and the coast will also provide excellent day trips as well as Porlock, Dunster castle and Minhead with perhaps a trip on the East Somerset steam.

One word..Fantastic!

Before I talk about the property I would like to say a word about our hosts Andrew and Helen. You could not ask for nicer more accommodating hosts. When we had a problem (not with the property) Andrew went the extra mile to help us out, for which we are so grateful. There are two words I can describe Andrew and Helen, and those words are genuine and friendly.

The property was top rate, I don't believe it could have been any cleaner and was equipped to a very high standard. The beds are comfortable, and the fact you can control your own heating via the control panels in each room is a real bonus. The property is ideally located for the local area, we visited Wookey Hole, Glastonbury several times!!! and Weston Super Mare. We cannot recommend this barn highly enough!

Excellent accomodation in an ideal location.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Andrew and Helen’s barn conversion in Shapwick. We were greeted by Andrew upon our arrival who took the time to show us around the barn and answer any questions we had. The barn was clean, well maintained, and equipped to a high standard with a stylish décor throughout. The beds in the barn where very comfortable and we appreciated Andrew and Helen accommodating our request for a sofa bed.

The barn is ideally located to explore many attractions. We had great days out at Cheddar, Wookey Hole, Wells, Bristol, Weston-Super-Mare and fossil hunting at Kilve beach.

We would highly recommend the barn and will definitely stay again when holidaying in the area in the future.

Luxury in a secluded spot

Barn conversion was first rate. The welcome from owners was very warming.

Amenities: Kitchen - very modern and useable

Bedroom 1 - with stunning views across the fields and very comfortable bed.

Bedroom 2 - with roof windows.

Bathroom - with wet room was fantastic.

Gardens are beautiful

Fantastic stay with wonderful surrounding areas.

Note - There is no local shop or pub.

Would highly recommend this barn, and we would gladly stay again one day.

Wow what a beautiful holidayhome!

We spent the last week of our holiday in Somerset in this beautiful barn conversion. It is spacious, light and we absolutely loved the interior. From the beautiful well-equiped kitchen to the modern bathroom, everything is decorated to a high standard. The property was very clean and well-maintained. The owners are very helpful and friendly. The secluded garden is private, quiet and sunny. When you visit the area you should visit Wells, Bath, Stonehenge, Cheddar Gorge and Glastonbury. We had a wonderful week and when we visit the area again, we will definitely be staying here!

A real pleasure

We have stayed in a variety of self catering accommodation over the years and this was one of the better ones. The Barn is interestingly laid out and nicely decorated and furnished. It was well situated for birdwatching for my husband and Street Shopping Village for me, plus a variety of other places to visit. Whilst the weather was not wonderful during our stay, it was a pleasure to return back to such pleasant accommodation each day. Thank you Andrew, Helen and Charlie for making out stay such an enjoyable one.

The barn was spotlessly clean and beautifully decorated.

We enjoyed exploring the area and the views from the property were lovely.

It was close enough to some really good tourist spots but really felt away from it all.Very peaceful and relaxing.
