About Andrew and Helen Stone

We have owned the property for 21 years with the intention of always converting the adjoining barn but the time has not been right until 2014.

Andrew and Helen Stone purchased this barn in 1993

Why Andrew and Helen Stone chose Sedgemoor

We have recently converted a barn adjoining our family home. We have taken great pride in completing a tasteful, relaxing holiday home that we hope you will enjoy.

What makes this barn unique

It is in an ideal location for walking, cycling, bird watching, starling murmurations and exploring local towns with the coast within 30 mins drive.

A great place to stay

  • 5 of 5

We like this holiday home so much we came back a second time. Our hosts Andrew and Helen could not be any friendlier, more genuine or more helpful if they tried. They have what can only be described as the best holiday home my partner and I have ever stayed in. It is spotlessly clean, very well equipped and ideally located for vising local attractions. Whilst staying there this time we visited wells cathedral and the bishops garden and Glastonbury on more than one occasion. Cheddar gorge, brean down, burnham-on-sea and bath are all within a short drive from this property, and we will be visiting them too next time we stay I am sure.

Great Hosts!

  • 5 of 5

First of all a big thank you to Andrew, Helen and Charlie for making us feel so welcome during our stay.

We booked this accommodation primarily due to its close proximity to a number of nature reserves in the area as my wife and I both love wildlife and birding in particular.

As has been stated previously the barn conversion adjoining the owner's property has been beautifully carried out with quality fittings throughout and underfloor heating.

For your further information the kitchen has an induction hob therefore do not take your own kitchen pans if they are not compatible.

One other thing that we were not aware of before our visit was that there is no freezer contained in the barn conversion however Andrew and Helen have a spare freezer in an outhouse around 40 metres away which guests can use if self catering.

We were extremely fortunate with the weather during our stay with largely sunny skies so therefore we spent a lot of time in the beautiful countryside close by and also further afield. RSPB Ham Wall and Shapwick NNR are a short drive away and are well worth a visit, a short hike up Glastonbury Tor was well worth the effort and possibly one of our favourite excursions was to Breen Down on the Somerset coast with spectacular views of the two Holms in Bridgewater Bay and beyond to the north Devon coast to the south west and south Wales coast to the north west.

A wonderful place to stay!

  • 5 of 5

The situation was great with fantastic views of the surrounding countryside. It was ideal for walking or cycling, with plenty of opportunities to watch spectacular sunsets. Andrew & Helen could not have made us feel more welcome and were always happy to offer help and advice. I would highly recommend Home Farm Barn as an excellent base to explore Somerset.

Lovely clean and modern cottage which was perfect for our family half term holiday in Somerset.

  • 5 of 5

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this cottage. It had everything we needed plus the log burner was a real luxury during the cold winter evenings. The property was very clean and well designed. The owners were lovely and were mostly around if we needed anything.

One word..Fantastic!

  • 5 of 5

Before I talk about the property I would like to say a word about our hosts Andrew and Helen. You could not ask for nicer more accommodating hosts. When we had a problem (not with the property) Andrew went the extra mile to help us out, for which we are so grateful. There are two words I can describe Andrew and Helen, and those words are genuine and friendly.

The property was top rate, I don't believe it could have been any cleaner and was equipped to a very high standard. The beds are comfortable, and the fact you can control your own heating via the control panels in each room is a real bonus. The property is ideally located for the local area, we visited Wookey Hole, Glastonbury several times!!! and Weston Super Mare. We cannot recommend this barn highly enough!
