Luxury 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom Townhouse, 5 mins drive to secluded beaches

The property enjoys luxury fittings and furnishings throughout. Two double bedrooms and two bathrooms (one ensuite), several terraces, full kitchen facilities, dining, lounge etc. It has views of the golf course to the front and views of the swimming pool to the rear from its sun terrace.

The complex is in open countryside just a few minutes from the beach and hundreds of kilometres of walking, horse riding and biking trails including the Via Algarviana and Rota Vicentina. The resort has access to all the facilities within the Parque de Floresta Golf Resort, including golf, tennis courts, gym with personal trainers, health spa, bars and restaurants. Within a very short distance there are aerobic and yoga classes.

This part of the Algarve is renowned for secluded beaches. The nearest beach is Salema which is about 3 km away, there is everything you will need for a day in the sun, bars, restaurants, cafes etc. It is a beautiful small fishing town, the sand is soft and the beach has a gentle slope away so safe swimming. There are even some dinosaur footprints fossilised in the rocks for the children to find.

Figuera beach is also about 3 kms away but you will need to prepare for a little walk to get to there, but is worth the effort. Take everything with you as there are no facilities just a secluded beach that most of the time you will have to yourself. Praia de Luz is about 8km away with its lovely large safe beach and all the water sports you may want to hire from pedalos and canoes to catamarans.

Lagos is about 13km away with its busy marina and 15 miles of beach, here you can hire boats or go on some of the day trips, exploring the grottos is a favourite, but there are so many to chose from, you can also arrange fishing trips here. Lagos Zoo is about 5 km away in Bensafrim, and features gardens with animals located in natural surroundings. For the surfers the West Coast beaches are less than 15 mins away, with surf schools everywhere for beginners to learn this beautiful sport in perfect conditions.

The coast has fabulous coastal walking plus the 300km long Algarvian Way (The old road from Spain to Portugal). May, June, September and October are great months for walking with all the spring flowers, we seem to have two Springs here in the Algarve.

Bird Watches are catered for as the Costa Vincentia National Park is only a few mins away, here you will see a whole host of birds native to Portugal and not so native as this is on the main migratory route through to Africa and is used as a stop off and rest point. For mountain bikers this is paradise - so many tracks so little time, beautiful coastal routes, mountain ranges the choice is yours, we can give advice on routes and even groups to ride with.

When I'm not working I have a team of dedicated personnel manning our office giving me time to enjoy the delights of this sparsely populated and under-explored part of Europe. The mountain biking and surfing is amongst the best in the world and the restaurants have amazing cuisine at fantastic prices - especially if you like fresh fish and grilled meats. Portuguese wine is another little publicised delight to savour when staying here and the friendliness of the local people will ensure that your stay is a memorable one which will have you planning your return before you've even departed!

Notes on accommodation: The kitchen and lounge are accessed from the front door off an attractive walkway with sleeping and bathrooms situated downstairs. This way the bedrooms remain naturally cool as the hot air rises. The open plan sitting room boasts a large south facing private terrace equipped with table and chairs while both bedrooms have small balconies at ground level. The property has full air conditioning. Outside: Quinta da Encosta Velha has communal gardens, pools and parking. The villa has outdoor reclining chairs, outdoor furniture and umbrellas. Towels / Linen / Maid service: All towels and linen are included (including beach towels) Maid service: for stays of between 10 days and one month, a mid-stay clean in provided. For stays in excess of one month, cleaning is an option extra priced at €10 per hour

Luxury living on the Algarve

Lived in the house January/ February 2017 to get away from our bad winters and it didn't disappoint us the weather was great, the house very roomy and comfortable. We particularly enjoyed the lounge balcony that was south facing so we could enjoy lunch and evening tipples most days. the location was excellent for exploring the west Algarve and beyond. Ian & Julie who managed the property were very helpful and professional. DJ Ireland
