An outstanding property in an ideal location

  • 5 of 5

We have a week's holiday on the Isle of Wight most years and like to choose a property that has something for adults and children alike. Of all the properties we have rented this one is arguably the best. With 4 bedrooms split over 3 floors – plus kitchen/diner and separate lounge – there is plenty of room (we had 5 adults and 2 toddlers and it was comfortable). The décor has been thoughtfully chosen and the whole house really does look beautiful from top to bottom. The front has parking for one car, although there was never any trouble for us to park our second car on the road outside.

But the best selling point is without a doubt the view. The house looks down onto Shanklin beach and you have full panoramic views of the sea from both the first and second floor balcony. The kids were also happy - being just a short walk down the hill and onto the beach/amusements/crazy golf/fish and chips! There is also a hot tub available to rent in the garden (optional extra). We found nothing better than unwinding in here after a long day of adventure.

I would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending this property. In our years of holidaying on the Island we have never returned to the same place as we like the variety. This however may well now change…

Wonderful!

  • 5 of 5

As I'd booked this for us & 4 friends I really hoped this house would be as good as it looked. It didn't disappoint! Beautiful home with stunning views. Very well equipped kitchen (inc champagne glasses!). Gas bottle for bbq had run out but one phone call and a new bottle was waiting when we returned from our walk. Would definitely recommend

A wonderful property!

  • 5 of 5

We've just returned home after a wonderful week for 5 of us at 'The Bay'. The house lived up to, and probably exceeded our expectations. We've stayed in Shanklin several times, the last 3 times in a property with a partial view of the sea, but the panoramic views of the bay from 'The Bay' are amazing and captivating. It's well worth taking a telescope and downloading a ship finder app as there are always vessels to look at and find where they're headed to. The top balcony where we had our bedroom is open with seating, and the balcony below is covered with seating - if you are unlucky to get rain you could still sit here and not get wet.

The bedrooms are well appointed with TV's and hair dryers in all, and toiletries in all the bathrooms.

The kitchen has all you need with a nice expresso machine, and a large TV as well. The outdoor seating on the deck is excellent both for dining and lounging, and the term 'BBQ area' in the property's description is selling it short. There is a large gas BBQ with 4 burners and a side hob for a saucepan. One of the burners has a griddle, so one day I was able to cook a full English breakfast just using the BBQ and everyone said it was lovely!

You can exit the house through the kitchen and decked area and lock the front gate to access the cliff path to the beach - about a 5 min walk, or you can leave though the front door which is at the back where there's a drive for your car. From here it's about a 5 min walk to the main shopping street, so overall an excellent location.

We normally holiday with 4 of us, but this year my daughters boyfriend came so we needed accommodation for 5. We paid a lot more to stay at 'The Bay' than we normally would for 4 of us, but it really was money well spent. I can't imagine a better place to stay in lovely Shanklin.

Coincidently we stayed in one of the owners other property's around 5 years ago, so they are obviously experienced landlords and met us on arrival which was nice. Have a great time!

Beautiful house with stunning views

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at this beauitful house with our young family and grandparents. It is very well appointed with everything you could possibly want in a self catering property. It is beautifully decorated and furnished. The view is simply stunning over the pretty Shanklin beach. Walking distance to shops and beach (although hilly). The owners met us on arrival and were very nice. We would without hesitation stay at this house again.
