Churchyard Cottage is an excellent weekend away. The cottage itself is situated in a small village near Swindon and is easily accessible from both the M4 and A34. The Cottage is furnished luxuriously and it is clear that the owners have spent a serious amount of time, effort, and love on decorating the interior; with particular attention to detail. The bed is very soft and well furnished, the bath and shower are both excellent, and the kitchen is well-equipped. But what stands out most about Churchyard Cottage are the little things. There was milk, butter, and a bottle of white wine in the fridge. There were toiletries, towels, and dressing gowns available in the bathroom. There was even a heater installed beneath the oven to warm up a small cold-spot in the kitchen. I would highly recommend this as a weekend, or week, away for a couple. There are enough things to do in the local area, but more importantly, the cottage itself is an exceptionally pleasant place to stay and unwind. I will most certainly look to return in future.

Wonderful escape!

  • 5 of 5

We LOVED everything about this quaint cottage. Its location was PERFECT to trekking trails! We hiked and ended up top of the hill where people were paragliding. The cottage itself is wonderful.. wood burner, romantic tub. Nothing but wonderful things to say about the cottage, the English village and pubs and owner. Thank you for a wonderful holiday!

Superbly Charming & Just Perfect

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I flew all the way from Texas, U.S. to celebrate our 10 year anniversary at this great cottage and our only regret is we didn't book it longer! At the foot of a The Ridgeway with access to beautiful walks; a few paces from a warm and friendly pub; and the cottage itself is just absolutely charming. Cannot wait to return again soon!

A very relaxing and enjoyable stay had by my partner and I. Beautiful scenery during walks, friendly locals, lovely dog friendly pub 50 yards away and a very welcoming owner, Richard.

Would recommend Richard and Churchyard Cottage and will definately stay again.

Gem of a cottage

  • 5 of 5

Only a stay a Churchyard Cottage can do it justice. Whilst the pictures and descriptions are spot on, the atmosphere has to be experienced. You don't need to venture out to have truly relaxing time here, but if you do, the immediate area is lovely (take an OS map to really explore) and the local pubs are great. Ideally situated to go further afield as well. Faultless!

Owner's Response: Thank you for your kind words Nigel, I am glad you enjoyed your stay and the tip on the OS map. I'll get one and leave it in the cottage.
