Welcome to The Lawns, a truly exquisite property that has recently undergone a full re-build. Situated above the cliffs of Port Isaac with uninterrupted views over Port Isaac bay up to Tintagel, the ghost of King Arthur can be seen riding around his castle (after a beer or two!). Every effort has been made to make this an outstanding property.

The best of Port Isaac

Liz and Jeremy. We can't thank you enough for sharing this beautiful home. The location is perfection and the home and amenities are exceptional. We thoroughly enjoyed our time in Port Isaac immersed in the local flavor of this small fishing village. One of our travel companions read your book about the Fishermen's Friends and we also had the chance to see them perform on the beach in the harbor. The Golden Lyon became our daily pub and we so enjoyed the BBQ out on the gun patio. We feasted on crab and lobster and enjoyed the chance to cook in your wonderful kitchen.

Two of us are vacation rental owners and we aspire to offer a home as gorgeous as this one. The lovely welcome goodies you left us were truly appreciated and we plan to do the same in the future at our own properties. If we ever find ourselves in Cornwall in the future we will return to Port Isaac and The Lawns.

I hope if you ever come to California you will call upon us to enjoy a visit to Napa wine country or Lake Tahoe. It would be a treat to host you here.

Watersports at Port Gaverne beach 10mins walk. Port Isaac beach 2 mins walk. Surfing at Polzeath 15mins drive. Sailing, Windsurfing at Rock 20mins drive.

Beautiful sandy beaches at Daymer Bay, Polzeath and Trebarwith Strand, 15 - 25mins drive. Padstow by ferry from Rock.

Surfing lessons can be arranged for you at Polzeath and courses on ocean kayaking are available locally

Travel:

How to get there

Newquay airport is a 30 mins drive and Exeter airport approx 1 hour, car hire is available from both. Bodmin Parkway railway station is a 30 min drive. There is a reasonably good local bus service to Wadebridge (10 miles away) and to local villages up and down the coast.

Distances:

The market town of Wadebridge is 10 miles away and has many independant shops along with a large supermarket. Wadebridge is also the central point of the Camel Trail, where bikes can be hired for the wonderful cycle rides along the Camel estuary and up river towards Bodmin. The Eden Project is 40 mins drive away and The Lost Gardens of Heligan a little further. King Arthur's Tintagel is 20 mins and picturesque Boscastle too.

There is a well stocked Co-Op in Port Isaac and on the harbour side are wonderful shellfish and fresh fish shops. There's a bakers, splendid cafes and restaurants, a beautiful Pottery, pretty gift shops and a wide selection of arts and crafts.

  • Notes on accommodation: The property is over three floors. The entrance hall & open plan living area is on the ground floor. From the hallway stairs lead to the first floor where the master bedroom & bedroom 2 are located along with the family bathroom. The stairs continue up to the second floor where Bedrooms 3 & 4 are located. From the second living area there is a staircase which leads up to bedroom 5. Outside: There is an enclosed rear courtyard with a seating area & fire pit for barbecuing. There is a further side courtyard. The property has four balconies in total from the living area, master bedroom, bedroom 2 and bedroom 3. Utility Room: Washing machine, tumble drier, iron, ironing board.
