Villa in Campagna, Nr. Agropoli, Campania, Italy - Peaceful Hillside Location, Stunning Views, Perfect Location From Which To Explore Southern Italy
"U CASIN" is a beautiful villa set 1,000 feet above sea-level in the Campanian mountains overlooking the bay of Salerno. This idyllic location is within easy reach of the Amalfi Coast, Capri and the magnificent temples of Paestum. Other attractions include Cilento National park, the archaeological sites of Pompeii and Herculaneum. For the fashion conscious the Cilento retail outlet is 30 minutes away! The villa is situated only one hour from Naples Capodichino airport via motorway. Whilst retaining its Italian style and character the villa is modern and comfortable and furnished to a high standard. Outside there are 2 terraces with stunning views of Litoranea plain and the bay of Salerno. We have recently built a Portico around the front and side of the villa for those that want to escape the summer sunshine! To the left are the magnificent Alburni mountain range which creates a stunning vista from the pool. The 2 terraces are fully lit for use at night including multi-coloured pool lighting.

About the Owner
The owners have spent most of their lives in England. However Lib was born in U Casin and came to England as a child. Their ambition has always been to rebuild the derelict farmhouse .Both Lib and Val are fluent in Italian and before the villa was built visited this location on numerous occasions. They have a good knowledge of the area and would be happy to advise if requested on any aspect of your holiday.

The villa was excellent, the view from the villa and terrace you could never tire of and the hosts Lib, Val and Purdy were lovely. We have never gone back to any of the places we have stayed at, but now it's time to make an exception, we had a fantastic relaxing two weeks and enjoy the pool greatly. When not by the pool loads to do in this lovely region, easy reach to sandy beaches, the mountains, villages, Amalfi Coast and Naples.
just rebooked for next year.......
.......not something i've done for anywhere before. Get a car, enjoy the driving, make sure you eat at I Tre Mulini in Campagna (the homemade hooch is a must). The swimming pool is divine, the neighbours, ie the owners, are just the best. I've told them that the photos don't do the place justice. Enjoy
What's not to love?
A modern villa, recently rebuilt from the owners grandparents house...a rebuild full of love which is clear to see! Lib and Val are the perfect hosts, our visit wouldn't have been the same without their local knowledge. Nothing is too much trouble.
The villa is off the beaten track so a car is a must, but it's a home from home with everything you could need for a break from reality! The pictures of the view do not do it justice, it's absolutely stunning and many hours were sat in the pool or chilling with a drink overlooking it.
Relatively close to tourist attractions, we visited Pompeii which was fascinating(but hot!), Rome was a 3hr drive but well worth it, a boat ride along the Amalfi Coast was simply stunning but poolside days were relaxing which is what we went for. Campagna is a 10min drive and is a gem of a town...not much English is spoken but it's a real taste of Italy.
We can't fault our stay, and for the first time in years of travelling we have found somewhere we would return to!
" Amiamo U Casin "
Stunning beautiful enjoyable stay. I found this villa purely by chance for my family to celebrate my 40th birthday! Wow I'm so glad I did! This really is a get away from it all villa with beautiful scenery with magical twinkling lights at night it really does take your breath away. The villa is light and modern; kitchen area full of everything you require but could perhaps have toaster and microwave added for quicker convenience but we managed cooking for 9 without!! Bedroom sizes great, two rooms and bathroom on each level I would recommend the top floor double room for best views. Lib and Val are friendly, very helpful, passionate and knowledgable and we have returned home with a new friendship which is an added bonus!! Their dog Purdy is beautiful and well trained and personally for me helped as a distraction to leaving my dog behind!! Pool area fab and BBQ area great. The drive up to the villa is certainly interesting via a dirt track with some sharp bends but when at top is well worth it just for scenery alone u literally feel on top of the world. Pizzas down at the local village are a must.... really tasty and good value at 3 euros. We were lucky to experience the 'Chiena' in the local town of Campagna where the water is rerouted down the streets and you can walk through or throw buckets of water on each other it really is a must!! Also a boat trip along the Amalfi Coast is recommended too. Pompei was interesting and a personal treat as could recall studying at school; please note it was very very very hot!! One tip would be after parking to step away from the initial restaurants you come across which try to entice you in by saying if you eat on their premises parking is free; feel free to explore there are plenty of options. Beach is about 40 minutes away from villa and Lib will direct you its 10 euros for 2 sun beds and 1 umbrella the sea is warm and ideal for younger children as shallow for some distance. We really loved our holiday and feel blessed to have found U Casin along with LIb, Val & Purdy and definitely will be returning. One last point this villa is very special and is for couples families who want to get away from it all, there are no local bars restaurants to walk too and the local area is certainly not tourism led which was ideal for us as we wanted to experience true Italy and I believe we did!
excellent holiday and villa
We stayed at the villa during the first week of October - we found the villa to be extremely clean and modern inside, the swimming pool was perfect as was the overall location, it gave us a taste of real Italy. The Amalfi coast was only a 30 min drive away, where we took a boat trip along the beautiful coastline, the locals were the nicest people we've ever met & the villa was exactly as described.
To conclude we had a perfect holiday & we will definitely be returning next year and will be recommending the villa to all our friends.
Merci encore.

“Inherited paternal land and derelictl house in 2000 and re-built from scratch the existing property which has some of the original features incorporated and was completed in 2014. I love the southern Italian philosophy to life. A very slow pace, a great passion for good food, family centred, the love of people and a positive outlook on everything.”

“Hillside location in the Campagnian hills. Remote but still within easy reach of local amenities. Most of the road to villa is made up of Tarmac, and the last few hundred yards to the villa is a rising farm track.”
