Apartment in Novigrad, Istria, Croatia - Just 100m from the coast. 5 minutes walk to the restaurants and beautiful old town of Novigrad.

Perfectly located, 2 bedroom modern apartment overlooking the sea. Situated next to the new marina and within 5 minutes walk of medieval Novigrad. The apartment with high quality Italian ceramics throughout, has open plan lounge, dining and kitchen, 1 double bedroom, 1 twin bedroom and a bathroom (plus a double sofa bed in the lounge if needed). Well equipped with top of the range air conditioning, a balcony with fantastic views, sofa bed and dedicated parking.

We are happy to be flexible on your arrival dates as we understand that flights on a Saturday can be very expensive in peak season.

About the Owner

My husband and I live in Leicesterhsire, England with our two daughters. We bought the apartment in 2004 before we had children and loved our time in Novigrad as a couple. To be honest, when we bought the apartment we hadn't really thought about children.

Since our girls were born we have had many years of great family holidays and the children both love the apartment and Novigrad.

Our parents are also regular visitors to the apartment towards the beginning and end of the summer, often with friends, and they always have a great time. The people are so friendly and there is so much to do we think it is a great little town where everyone always has a great time.

The apartment was fantastic. It was hot when we went and the air-con was superb. We loved eating our breakfast on the balcony and having a drink there in the evening. We found our favourite restaurant (Tri-Palme) in the pine trees just around from the marina and ended going back twice. We hired some bikes just down from the apartment on one of the days and cycled round the coast to the village North of Novigrad where we found a great little restaurant serving fresh seafood.

Alter Wohnblock daher auch altes abgewohntes Apartment. WC-Anlage kaputt. Dreckige Stühle und dreckige Wohnlandschaft.

Würde dieses Apartment nicht weiter empfehlen.

From the Owner

We fell in love with Novigrad when we first visited and knew that is where we wanted to be. It is small enough to be super friendly and big enough to have something for everyone. There is lots to do in and around Novigrad and loads to do in a short distance if you have a hire car.

Activity and Interests


The nearest coast is 100m away at the marina. Beaches are within a 5 min walk. To the north and south of the town there are blue flag beaches with showers, toilets, a new salt water swimming pool and sun loungers for hire. In Novigrad there are also tennis courts, a children play area and a football pitch. The south of Novigrad has new hotel facilities that are available to use including a pool, sports facilities and spa.


The are several routes into the Istrian region through budget airlines such as Ryanair and Easyjet;

The nearest airport is Pula is 60km.

Trieste (Ronchi dei Legionari) in Italy is 90km.

Venice (Marco Polo or Treviso) in Italy are 190km.

Ljubljana in Slovenia is 150km.

Car hire is recommended. The journey to Novigrad is a simple and smooth with motorway from Venice right through to Slovenia, shortly after this you join the new Adriatic Motorway.


The apartment is just 10 minutes by car to the new Istralandia Waterpark.

Popular coast towns of Porec (15 km) and Rovinj (30k) are further south towards the Istrian capital Pula which is approx 45 minutes by car.

To the North of Novigrad is Slovenia which is approx 30 minutes drive.

Moving inland are the ancient fortified hilltop towns of Motovun and Groznjan which under 25 minutes by car.

Further Details:

Novigrad has many restaurants and relaxing bars. There are 2 large supermarkets within walking distance, a local baker, fishmonger and fruit / vegetable market are all within 5 minutes walk. Sunsets in Novigrad are not to be missed and Cafe Vitriol has to be the best of them all.

Porec is 15 km, where you find cobbled streets, examples of Roman architecture and can catch the ferry to Venice which runs daily.

The ancient fortified towns of Motovun and Groznjan are under 25 minutes by car. Both have outstanding views and are a must on any trip. For art lovers the hilltop towns have many galleries and for those wanting a quiet drink there are some excellent restaurants to be found tucked away down the side streets.

Rovinj is 30 km. A picturesque town built on a peninsula and with a medieval castle at its highest point. Parking is found a ten minute walk from the town centre.

Pula is 45 mins by car and is the capital of Istria. The most famous attraction is the Roman amphitheatre, but the city has a number of equally impressive examples of Roman architecture all within walking distance.

For the more adventurous an exhilarating zip wire experience can be found in Pazin (30 mins by car).

The area has hundreds of caves which can be explored with qualified guides. For the adventurous a half day cave tour is available, or for those preferring a less energetic look underground a short cave trip at Baderna (15 mins away) is highly recommended.

Booking Notes:
A charge of 25% non refundable fee is required to secure the booking. The balance needs to be paid 40 days prior to arrival.

Changeover Day:
Changeover day is usually a Saturday, but we understand that flights can be much more expensive then. We will do everything we can to be flexible on the changeover day so that you can keep the costs to a minimum.

Notes on prices:
Prices are quoted in UK pounds. Euros are also welcome.
Tourists in Croatia are required to register on arrival and pay a local tax based on length of their stay. This is handled by the company who manage our apartment and is paid upon arrival. Local taxes are 1 Euro per night for adults, free for children under 12 years and discounts for 12-18 year old.
There is a 4 Euro registration fee per person.

Novigrad has lots of different restaurants, cafes and bars which leave you spoilt for choice. The apartment is a few minutes walk from the town and the beach so its great to stroll down and pick up some fresh bread and fruit for breakfast. The apartment has air conditioning so when things get that little bit too warm you have a great place to chill out (literally).
