The TY Broc Holiday Property newly upgraded

These two semi-detached houses are set in their own grounds and reached by a private road. They are 250m from the two accessible sandy beaches of Aberporth and have good views across Cardigan Bay.

Our houses are well furnished and equipped and are both Wales Tourist Board 5*graded.

Aberporth is a large former fishing village. It has a thriving living and friendly community (a junior school, playgroups, a few shops, a church and two chapels) so it does not become a "ghost town" out the summer season. This means our visitors are able to benefit from and enjoy the many local activities - the Country Market in the Village Hall, the Carnival with its fancy dress, long boat racing, beach side competitions and stalls (think a combination of the "Archers" without the adultery and "Midsummer Murders" without the bodies. Aberporth has two lovely safe sandy beaches and is perfect for "fashioned" bucket and spade holidays.

The local community is particularly proud of the provisions that we

have made for the less able; Aberporth has two beaches, but each has hardened access paths which enable access to the top of each beach. Similarly, a graded access path permits easy access across the village without having to use the public roads.

Our bathing water is tested throughout each summer and the beaches are life guarded by the RNLI. Consequently, each summer our beaches are awarded a European Blue Flag and our clean safe waters mean that that Aberporth beaches provide an excellent venue venue for a variety of water sports, particularly swimming, sailing, surfing (when the waves are up), and snorkeling ....but not forgetting introducing toddlers to the magic of the sea, exploring rock pools, catching crabs, splashing in the waves and of course, screaming a lot. And when you fed up with the water you can always build a sand castle and complain to your dad when you big brother kicks it down. Another sea side activity is Dolphin Watching. Cardigan Bay is fortunate in being the home to one of the UK's two Bottle Nosed Dolphin pods (the other is in Scotland). These can be spotted at any time, but mainly in the summer months and, if you see them leaping, well what a sight!

Farther afield our local town Cardigan, 7 miles away, has a similar friendly,safe, ambiance but greater range of of activities are available. As would be expected in a mid-sized country town there is a good range of shops including an Aldi and a Tesco, a flourishing theater and cinema complex, a variety of eating places, and, as would be expected in a formerly flourishing coastal port, a good selection of pubs. For the more active there is an indoor swimming pool, tennis and bowling clubs, and two golf courses. Also, increasingly, there is walking, particularly along the Wales Coastal Path, and horse riding is also available.

The owners of Mor (means "sea" in Welsh) and Ysgol (means "school"), Jann and Tony Tucker are closely involved in their day to running, and have played an active part in the promotion of the Tourist Trade in West Wales for over 35 years. During this time their aim has remained constant - to provide high quality reasonably priced accommodation in an attentive and friendly environment.

Ysgol has just completed a complete face lift and revamp - the main prurpose of which was to restore its 5* grading and to radicly improve its facilities for the disabled.

The down stairs floor access is completely level. From the car parking area there is level access to the entrance porch with its provision for coats and wellies; this leads to the new large and revamped kitchen/diner; from this you reach the lounge area with a woodburning stove. Also on the ground floor is a double/twin bedroom with fully accessable ensuite bathroom with a "wheel in" shower, another double bedroom; and another bathroom with a bath with shower over.

Upstairs there is a family room with a double bed, a single couch bed, a shower and WC, and a small West facing balcony giving views of the sea.

Outside there is a patio area with a barbeque and grassed areas for your children and dogs.

This property is graded 5* by Tourism Wales.

Activity and Interests

Coast/Beach:

Aberporth's two, safe, life guarded, sandy, Blue Flag beaches are just 250m away and are reached by our private road. The are excellent for bathing, sailing and, when the surf is up, surfing. But, if your little ones, perhaps helped by grandpa, want to build sand castles then Aberporth's beaches are perfect.

The bay is edged by rocks so the rocky pools provide endless fun where you can try your hand at crabbing (but mind your fingers!). Or you can just lie on the sand and doze in the sun.

Travel:

Travel to Aberporth inevitably involves some road travel by bus, car, or taxi.

Cardiff Airport is a two and half hour drive away, and Bristol takes another hour or so.

The nearest railway stations (30miles/an hour away) are at Carmarthen (for London by Cardiff and Bristol) and Aberystwyth (for Birmingham and Crewe).

Travel by coach is relatively easy but, bearing in mind some of the winding roads, not always rapid.

But, along the way, the views of the sea and the hills will make time pass.
