We had a lovely week. The cottage is wonderful, the paddock especially is great for the children. We have enjoyed visiting Lyme Regis, the Fleet Air Arm Museum, Sherborne, Swanage and several NT houses around the area.

Thank you very much for the welcome pack.

Four Winds Chetnole

  • 5 of 5

Four winds is a perfect place to relax and unwind. Our family booked for one week and we stayed a little longer! The weather was cold, wet and windy but that did not matter a bean as the cottage was cozy, warm and snug. The views of the countryside were outstanding and the added bonus of seeing 'Phil the Pheasant' with his entourage strutting his stuff around the paddock made for an amusing time. The owners, Gary and Hilary were friendly and very welcoming and we were greeted with fresh eggs from the resident hens, a bottle of wine and a fabulous Dorset Apple cake baked by Hilary. The village of Chetnole itself is peaceful and has a great Pub. The nearest shop is in Yetminster a couple of miles away and the beautiful town of Sherborne with it's ancient Abbey and unique shops is about 6 miles distant. For those looking to chill we highly recommend this small corner of Paradise. Andy Jamieson

Fourwinds really is the Perfect Place

  • 5 of 5

Our family booked a week initially at Fourwinds but we ended up staying for longer. The weather was cold, wet and windy but it did not matter a bean, the cottage was delightfully. Cozy, warm and snug. The Owners were so friendly and welcoming and we were greeted with fresh eggs, from the resident hens, a bottle of wine and the most delicious home made Dorset apple cake. The view of Melbury Bubb from the master bedroom was fantastic and ever changing in the light. From here too we could watch. 'Phil the Pheasant' and his entourage of companions strutting around the paddock. Chetnole is a peaceful village, with a great pub and Yetminster has a village shop. Venture further and you come to the country town of Sherborne with it's wonderful Abbey and a variety of shops. This is a must for anyone who values their peace and quiet and we thoroughly recommend Fourwinds as a little corner of paradise. Andy Jamieson

Owner's Response: Thank you Andy for taking the time to express how much you enjoyed your stay. It was a great pleasure to meet you , Candice and your son and we will take great pleasure for many years to come with the very generous paintings we have from you. Phil the peasant is still strutting his stuff !!

From the Owner

We bought Fourwinds in 1993 and just fell in love with the location, the peace and wonderful views and the challenge of cultivating the extensive garden. We enjoy village life with all the benefits it has to offer. The nearest village shop is located 2 miles away in Yetminster and the local Supermarkets are Sherborne, Yeovil and Dorchester. Our local award winning pub is very welcoming and delicious food should you want to have a break from cooking. A trip to the nearest coast is 30/ 40 minutes away.
