About Sarah dixon

We are a young English family who have holidayed in Provence for years and loved it so much, we bought a house here.

We try to visit as often as we can and have a large family, so it is great to have somewhere that can accommodate us all.

Sarah dixon purchased this villa in 2012

Why Sarah dixon chose Alpilles

We love the clear blue sky, stars at night and wonderful food and wine produced locally. The people are very friendly and there are so many amenities within the town of St. Remy. The history of the area is amazing and above all the climate and lifestyle provide lifetime memories every holiday, that sustain us when we come back home! This is our family holiday home - we hope you love it as much as we do!

What makes this villa unique

We love relaxing by the pool or sitting in the shade and reading a book. Our son loves swimming or playing ping-pong! Wednesday market is a must - we buy fresh produce to cook at home and enjoy with some local wine, of course!

We play golf or tennis and like going for bike rides, or just enjoy walking into St. Remy and wondering round the shops, or going up through the Alpilles.

We visit the many nearby villages and dine out in the many restaurants on offer, and even after several years we have not tired of getting in the car and visiting the sights or vineyards in the surrounding area.

Whether you are adventurous or just want a lazy time by the pool, our house is uniquely positioned to enjoy both!

A stunning house in a beautiful village

  • 5 of 5

Had a fantastic holiday in St Remy. The house was beautiful, plenty of space, really well equipped and furnished to a really high standard. Outside there are two large patios with dinning tables and chairs which overlook the pool. Whether your having dinner watching the stunning sun set or just watching the kids in the pool and gardens, it's a wonderful setting. The pretty village of St Remy is only a walk away and is full of quaint narrow streets with beautiful shops and restaurants. I would highly recommend the house, we've already booked for next year!

A beautiful house in a great location

  • 5 of 5

This is a beautiful house set in a quiet location with a lovely garden and pool area. Throughout, the house is fitted out to the highest standard and its clear that the owners have put a lot of thought into making it feel luxurious but also practical for a great family holiday.

With all the facilities you would expect in a property of this quality, we particularly enjoyed the pool and barbecue/outdoor dining area. St Remy with it's great restaurants and shops is a 20 minute walk away and there is so much to see and do within a short distance of the house. I definitely hope to return in future years.

Provençal character and modern luxury

  • 5 of 5

We loved this house! It is fitted out and maintained .to a high standard with all mod cons but still with contemporary Provencal character. The stone floors and air con keep the house cool in the summer heat. The pool is perfect with access by wide shallow steps for children but deep enough to dive into. We loved chilling out by the pool but when we did venture further there is so much nearby to see and do. St Remy is full of character; excellent shops and restaurants and local festivities with traditional costume through the summer.

If you are here for a special celebration then the Auberge de Noves is 15 minutes drive away and has a fantastic restaurant and a beautiful terrace for a perfect Provençal evening.

Idyllic Provence

  • 5 of 5

A beautifully appointed house built in traditional local style. Plenty of space inside and out with all the fittings anyone could expect. Five minutes drive from the village of St Remy or an easy 30 minute stroll. I shall certainly return.
