About Cathy Edge

We have lived in Wales on the border with England for over 20 years. Our family has grown up on the Kymin.

Why Cathy Edge chose Monmouth

We have lived on The Kymin for over 20 years and love the rural tranquility and spectacular views combined with easy access to the shops and local activities. The Top Barn is situated in a field adjacent to our property. We often have animals in the field including cows and chickens.

What makes this barn unique

The view is the best part. We have tried to incorporate this into the different rooms in the barn. In addition, there is a tranquility on the Kymin which means that you feel you are away from it all whilst in fact within 10 minutes you are back in town with all the amenities you require. There is very little light pollution so on clear nights the stars are remarkable.

A cosy property in a gorgeous, quiet setting.

  • 5 of 5

We found this cosy property ideal for a winter break. We wanted to do plenty of walking, and it is great to be able to go on a variety of walks, long and short, without even the need to firstly get in the car to find a start point. We would love to return in a summer-time and, hopefully, enjoy the incredible views, both from the terrace and the nearby walks, with the added benefit of some warm sunshine. Cathy and David were very friendly and helpful hosts.

Perfect for total relaxation. Wood burner made the cottage so warm and cosy. Breath taking views from my bed to wake up to, so much so that I had to go back to bed to drink my tea, pure heaven!

On arriving at the barn we were greeted by Cathy , lovely and friendly made us feel so welcome .

The barn was just perfect for us

, peace and quiet for a few days , and spotlessly clean , the bed was comfy and the shower was fab too ! All the mod cons you need .

Some good dog walks just a stones throw from the barn and the surrounding views are just fabulous .

We are hoping to get back there very soon.

I would definitely recommend !!

Thank you Cathy &David we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves
