Set in a peaceful village location with stunning mountain views to the rear, this is the perfect place for a relaxing break surrounded by the beautiful Northern Portugal scenery. Conveniently located for accessing natural parks for walking and wildlife yet close to many of the major cities in the region. This is a relatively undiscovered and unspoilt region of Portugal with many interesting things to see and do. The historic cities Porto, Guimaraes and Braga are within easy reach. You can also be at the beach within the hour but for those who prefer something closer there are plenty of river beaches to be found locally. If you just want to relax then why not just enjoy a glass of the local Vinho Verde on the terrace whilst taking in the view.

This is a real gem of a place for those wanting to relax in the solitude of the gorgeous Portuguese countryside. Set on the edge of a small village it has outstanding views of the valley and mountain that looks stunning whether night or day. As a family of 4 it gave us the opportunity to relax, soak up the sun, swim in the amazing pool and generally switch off. There are plenty of
places to visit nearby (checkout the guest book for ideas) so a car is essential but the villa is so perfect you could just stay there all week if you wanted.
The villa itself is beautifully maintained so it's a real home from home while you are there. It turned out to be one of the most relaxing holidays we have ever had and we would certainly visit again.

We loved the fact it was in the countryside and had wonderful views over the mountains. The villa was comfortable and well equipped and suited us with 4 children. Dvds and books available to sit inside if it was too hot. The fans we're ok but not brilliant as it was still hot inside at night which made it uncomfortable. The pool was the Best we've ever had on holiday! Good size and warm . Overall a wonderful place and we would stay again.

This is our 5th stay at this lovely house. It is very well equipped with everything you need for a happy holiday and very clean . The owners have taken care to provide those extra helpful thoughtful touches such as phrase books, information on the area,games,DVD's ,books and there is always some storecupboard essentials such as olive oil, vinegar, salt pepper, herbs, pasta and rice in the cupboard and you just replace if you finish them off. This time we took our own car sailing to Santander. The house is just under an hour from the Spanish border and it took us 6 hrs in all to drive there from the port. Very easy motorway driving all the way. There are plenty of places to visit if you can tear yourself away from the pool and views! All the locals are very friendly and there are some great places to eat, all very cheap especially the local Vino Verde! This area is real Portugal and you will not hear very many other English voices during your stay. There are 2 National parks which are beautiful to visit, and one of the things we enjoy doing is just going off and exploring the beautiful countryside. The cycle path is easy to walk/cycle and views from it beautiful. We are already looking forward to our next visit!

The area is great for wildlife enthusiasts and bird lovers being close to natural parks for hiking or just enjoying the scenery. The area also has several lakes for water sports. The newly restored Tamega narrow gauge railway line passes through the village close to the villa and is perfect for cycling, running, or walking.
The nearest beaches are in Vila do Conde which is an hours drive away straight down the motorway. Many beaches have life guards and beach huts that you can rent with plenty of cafes and amenities close by. Watch out for the waves.
The closet airport is in Porto with flights available from several airports in the UK. Car hire is easy to arrange from porto airport and the drive to the villa is pretty easy and is mostly motorway, taking about an hour. A car is essential for getting around.
Cafe Cental in Vila Nune - about 500m
The nearest town is Arco de Baulhe which is about 4 km away where you can buy pretty much everything you need. You can find larger supermarkets and an open air market in Cabeceiras de Basto which is about 8km. Cabeceiras also has a lovely monastery and interesting museum of regional life. There are many restaurants dotted about with the nearest being on the way to Arco (Churrasqueira do paco).
The local restaurants mostly serve traditional Portuguese food particular to the area and is generally very good vaue though not ideal for vegetarians. The local vinho verde wine is very good and very cheap. Banks can be found in Arco de Baulhe. The nearest health center is in Cabeceiras de Basto.

A deposit of 10% of the rent is required within 1 week after booking. The balance of the rent plus £100 security deposit must be received at least 6 weeks prior to the commencement of your stay. If the property is left in a satisfactory condition your security deposit will be refunded within 4 weeks after the end of your stay. If not then some or all of the security deposit will go towards the cost of breakages or other damage.

Utility Room: Washing machine Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Towels (not beach towels) and bed linen are provided and will be changed each week.
