This space was a beautiful, large but cozy space perfect for families and friends. It is perfectly located to provide huge space to run around, play tennis, swim, and for kids, but also easily accessible to the myriad of towns and cities in the region. It was the perfect jumping off space to do day trips, and the house itself was lovely to enjoy. The owners are responsive, sweet, and wonderful. I'm coming here every year!

I have spent Christmas with my extended family at Mas Saint Damien (7 adults + 5 teenage children). We've had a great time in this huge, very well-appointed and charming house. A Christmas tree, indoor string lights and several potted cyclamens immediately made us feel at home. It was very much like staying at a friend's place.

The area is just wonderful even in the wintertime. The small town of L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue, a short 5-minute drive away, is still very lively at this time of year.

We hope to be back some time in the spring or summer to enjoy the beautiful grounds around Mas Saint Damien and the big swimming-pool.

Wonderful! Beautiful inside and out. Fab pool etc

  • 5 of 5

Mas St Damien is a wonderful place to stay. Beautifully designed interiors in a Provence style with sumptious, comfortable beds and bedding and great dining areas inside and outside in the enchanting courtyard. The tennis court, swimming pool, boules court and table tennis and the grounds are all in excellent condition and beautifully maintained. The surrounding area is fascinating and delightful to explore. We hired a local cook, recommended by the owners, who brought in delicious meals. Unbeatable holiday and we will go back! A real treat!

Wonderful, comfortable home away from home

  • 5 of 5

The property itself is beautiful and perfect for large groups - either a big family gathering or a group of friends. What was really nice was that the furnishings, tableware, kitchen equipment were all of a high standard and abundant, making it the perfect place to relax and entertain. The location is perfect for sight seeing and cycling and if you don't want to venture too far then it was great to relax and swim and play games.

Spectacular Mas with superb accommodation

  • 5 of 5

After many years of renting large houses in the south of France for our party of 12-14 adults, this is the first to which we would gladly return. The Mas is in a secluded rural location but just five minutes drive from L'Isle sur la Sorge, a beautiful town with biweekly food market, numerous boulangeries artisanales and several good restaurants. Facilities include: well appointed bedrooms, most with en suite; a large kitchen with modern equipment including a mains-gas double-oven range cooker and every possible utensil; a large swimming pool that is kept rigorously clean; a flood-lit tennis court and all-weather ping pong. Overall, the entire property is very well maintained and managed. Fantastic!

L'Isle sur la Sorgue known as the Venice of France with its canals, wonderful shops and famous Sunday market is just 3 km away from the house. Over 150 antique dealers have outlets in L'Isle and at the weekends and during the frequent antiques fairs, this number swells considerably. There are excellent restaurants, bars and cafes both in L'Isle and in the surrounding villages.

The house, set in 10 acres, looks over to the Vaucluse plateau in one direction and to the Luberon in the other. The picturesque Luberon villages of Menerbes, Bonnieux, Gordes, Gault, Lacoste, Oppede le Vieux and Fontaine de Vaucluse to name but a few are all within 15 to 20 min. A cycle path that runs through the Luberon to Apt has recently been created. It is possible to hire both road bikes and electric bikes at Coustellet just 10 minutes away and from there you can acces all the stunning Luberon villages and beyond by bike using as much or as little energy as you choose!

There are wonderful Provencal markets in all the local villages and of course, fantastic restaurants and cafes. A superb golf course, canoeing, cycling and horseriding are all within 10 mins of the house. Avignon is 30 min away (the airport is just 20 min). Aix en Provence is 45 min. Marseille airport (BA and EJ) 50 min drive. The coastal resort of Cassis is 75 min. This is the ideal place for a family holiday if you want a real balance between activity and total peace and relaxation in the countryside.

It is also ideal for Golf tours, tennis/bridge/Pilates/yoga holidays or short breaks all year round as the sun shines in Provence even through the winter.

Activities at the house:

Tennis (flood lit)

Table tennis

Activites nearby:

Antiques shopping

Golf: There is a lovely golf course, The Provence Country Club just ten minutes from the House and two others within 40 minutes drive. The House is often booked for golf tours. If you would like more information on golf in the area, please contact the owners.

Cycling: Mount Ventoux is in easy reach for the serious cyclists but there is the most stunning cycling on the doorstep. We have bikes available for guest use but can also recommend hiring electric bikes or road bikes if you want to sightsee over greater distances and maybe visit one of the many hilltop Medieval villages for lunch. Mas Saint Damien has proven to be a very popular base for cycling holidays for all levels particularly with the new cycle track that runs through the Luberon and particualrly with the availability of electric bikes which means amateurs can enjoy expeditions keeping pace with hard core cyclists!
